9:05 - This is a great video. I found it because I just found out about the "pie menu" - apparently I am supposed to enable it under Pref. under Add-On, but it's not there. But I see you're able to access it and access various versions of it, just by pressing a few buttons. I could access all BUT the ones I came here for, which was the view pie. I don't have num pad, so this would be very useful! I am not sure if I understand what you're saying, but I can't access it. which button did you say to access it
I just checked, and that pie menu is only available if you enable a free add-on that comes with Blender, 3D Pie Menus. To enable it, click CTRL and the Comma key. From the Preferences popup, click the Add-Ons button on the left. In the Search menu at the top right, click into the field and type the word pie. Click the checkbox next to the add-on, Interface: 3D Viewport Pie Menus to enable it. Click the X at the top right to exit Preferences. I checked, and the Alt + Q menu worked for me after enabling it. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
When I have an object selected, how do I switch between move, rotate and scale? I Wanna see the gizmos changing while the object is selected. I don't like the shortcuts G, R and S because they don't show the gizmo so I can't see the XYZ axis.
I just checked, and I don't think that is possible. You are right that the gizmos do not become visible when you use the shortcuts. You can manually turn the gizmos on by going to the Viewport Gizmos menu at the top right of the viewport so that the gizmos are always visible; however, they still disappear when you use the shortcuts to move, rotate, or scale the object. You can turn the gizmos on, and then click and drag on them to move, rotate, and scale, and still the see the gizmos, but then you won't be using the shortcuts. I guess it depends on which workflow you prefer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
@@davidpikedesigns hey buddy, I just discovered that when you hold down the middle mouse button you can choose XYZ. So I press G to move, then hold down middle mouse button and it's gonna allow me to chose the axis, same thing for R and S.

Weird. I just installed a new version of the Blender to ensure I didn't have anything enabled that isn't standard. When I press Q, I receive the Quick Favorites popup, which is blank because I haven't added any buttons to it.
@@davidpikedesigns I managed to make it work back then but I ended up de activating it because it was bothering me in the end, but I don't remember why.
ctrl... tab... 9... It's not "fast" it's barely possible! Are you guys having a tentacles instead of fingers or... HOW!?!? TF!! Sorry... it was just a second minute of the video... sorry. I'll keep watching
I wish! Do you know how much I could get done in a day if I had tentacles for fingers? I would be so much more productive. Hope you enjoy the rest of the video. Thanks for watching!
Maybe he doesn't know about the flick method? Hold the keybind for the pie menu instead of pressing and letting go. Move the mouse in the direction of the item you want and let go of the keys, doesn't even have to be spot on mouse hover. It can get pretty fast once you get used to it.
Great tutorial! Thank you Sir!
Glad it was helpful!

Hi, View numpad Pie Menu shortcut doesn't work on my computer. I use Blender 4.0. You say the shortcut is Alt + Q.
