@@walterwhite415 You know whats just a tad sad about everything though, i play on pc too, and the fact i have to mod to prevent being modded on, is kinda crazy considering how easy it is to even do it, though im not a fan of griefing or any of that, just drop players stuff and follow people around
I'm one of the people who got a 30 day ban and account reset. The only thing I ever used was a free mod menu (Stand) that only offers protections. No teleporting, no money, no griefing, all it does is make GTA playable by not allowing modders to kick or crash or cage or freeze or explode me, etc. It's really a shame that rockstar can't fix their shit so you don't need third parties to make protections against mods.
Using any free mod menu which uses that "dll injection" technique/altering game files (which pretty much all of them use) is a pretty good way to make sure you will get banned eventually. I wouldn't trust even paid menus.
I was thinking of getting an anti kick/crash mod, Just to avoid annoying players Now that i hear you get banned from that, no ty, & thank you for this info
GTA Online back on PS3/Xbox360 was pure hell, you couldn't join a public session without receiving a message from a level 8000 scammer "RP/$$ for $9.99" then being turned into a snowman, blown up or being in sex animation and even when there was no modder at least one kid in the session would always ask "is there a modder"
I like how people discuss the voice reveal and vid's time more than the problem itself. Modders are literally more powerful than Rockstar themself,we are doomed :(
No they are not. Rockstar doesn't fix the modding issues purely for money reasons. What other multiplayer game of this scale uses P2P instead of servers for its sessions? Why? Cause it's cheaper.
The ending of the video felt like a documentary ending or like a movie about the environment saying sad facts and statistics. It truly make me weep and feeling anger to rockstar pissing of the pc community. Its so sad that we are afraid to join public sessions heck , even play the game just because how unsafe it is. While rockstar makes billions from the game and not using at least a few millions to the security of our personal information. Stay safe guys
play long enough and modding becomes a non-issue. What I'm actually annoyed by is the fact that the content for E&E was locked behind console exclusivity. That's just straight up stupid.
I was thinking of giving gtav online a try but after watching the videos and reading comments, I'll stay away from the game. If even single player isn't safe to play then i'm better off pirating it and play offline.
As a PC player and software engineer, once I realized how GTA Online works at its core, I never ever went on a public session ever again. That's probably how I spent my 800/1000 hours played lol. I'm happy somebody is speaking up about this again. This should never have gotten to this point. I applaud your efforts in bringing this to attention again.
I remember back in 2018 you couldn't even get on a gta5 lobby on ps3 without a wind turbine spawned directly in front of almost every apartment building to stop people from leaving their garage shit was madness
I have 1K hours on the game and i have never used a mod menu. Only time it came to my mind was when there were so many modders that the game was unplayable since you got blown up in every session, teleported etc. But i resisted the urge
Me and my friends resorted to NEVER enter a public lobby ever again on gta online to this day, we just play by ourselves and do missions or just create havoc in a invite only session. GTA:O on PC was pretty much not going to make them money unlike the console versions, so I figure that's part of why they acquired the FiveM/RedM creators.
It’s honestly crazy because it gets to the point where theres players that buy mod menus for the sole purpose of protecting themselves against other modders
i recently logged onto gta online after a couple years of not playing and the first lobby i got into, someone just randomly said my twitch username wich is completely different from my socialclub name. they then proceeded to name my isp and my general location. i did nothing in that lobby except minding my own business. its crazy to me that rockstar is just doing nothing about this. the security issues are insane. they made billions while milking that game, the least they can do is make sure their players are safe. if they go peer 2 peer again in gta 6 online, im gonna end it. we need dedicated servers. the fact that you cant play the game without having to worry about stuff like this is scary as hell. imagine if you are having fun in a lobby and try to piss someone off and that guy then proceeds to find your location. its genuinely outrageous that this has not been addressed.
Bullshit.... You dont need to have a mod menu to find out the IP address of players in a session. Since its P2P connection and not a dedicated server, you can use wireshark to see those IP addresses. From there you can allocate those IP addresses to the ISP which owns them. But your twitch username? LOL firstly why would someone just point out your twitch username? Secondly, you can literally type in your gta player name into google and cross reference where that name pops up. So if you streamed a GTA game with your twitch account, its tracible and linked.
@@contemporarymonk bro what you saying "bullshit" for? i said exactly what happened. i didnt claim to know how or why they did it. i was doing a drug run for my coke business and he just said it in the in game chat. maybe they are new to these mods (or what you mentioned) so its fun for them to spook people out with name dropping peoples twitch accounts and ISP. on top of that, every single one of my social media accounts have extremely unique names. you wont find one through the other. i have my steam, twitch and xbox account linked to my socialclub account and the only one that has the name he said is my twitch account. theres no cross referencing there. if you type my socialclub name into google you will find nothing. i even double checked to make sure my linked accounts are set to "me only". so no idea how he got it. and no i never streamed gta on my twitch. socialclub and gta online peer2peer are busted.
Im saying bullshit that they hacked your twitch name. If you are so worried that your IP and ISP will be tracked and they can find you physically (but why? who are you and why bother? for what gain are they doing this criminal act?) then just spoof your IP, but better spoof your MAC address since that contains a lot more info about your machine than your IP.
Been modding since 2014 on the X360, then on PC since 2016, and most of the time simply to be protected against other modders or to keep my lobby clean. Sad that this is the way rockstar treats their most successful game.
Me too bro, when i was in session and other ppl start joining i like to protect them too usually locking the session against bot and modder, everytime a modder joins my lobby, it got detected and automatically cut their ingoing and outgoing syncs
What a sensational video, great editing and very objective When I built my computer I missed playing GTA 5 and spending hours tinkering with my cars and walking around, but seeing the situation today I think it was a relief not being able to transfer my account because I have so much affection from my Xbox to the PC.
The problem with R*, is that they only focus on the mods that derive them of shark card sales, money drops, Casino rigs and all that jazz. The one time they did fix a major bug, which was the long load times, was fixed by a coder in the community who emailed them the fix, I think it was something to do with the Game checking file hashes getting stuck in an infinite loop or something.
The reason they don't touch the bad options on menus is cause it makes the game harder, which results in ppl not being able to sell in public lobbies which lead to them buying shark cards. R* only patched the money drops and its horrible
i don't know for others, but for me the first thing that came in my mind was to install a mod menu to refund what a moder made me lose during a sell. not buy a shark card
That's simply not true. They constantly patch kick exploits and other features and you do realize, that you can sell in private lobbies too, right? They imposed that feature, despite what you said.
2:47 Ok, no lie, I would genuinely pay money to get into a lobby like that. Having a flipped version of Los Santos hanging above the original one would be such a bizarre, yet awesome experience. Also, the only way to beat modders is to hire other modders.
This is a serious problem. you get kids who are too scared to die, too cowardly to fight like a man and resort to using godmode and teleporting just to make up for their weak nature. then you got some guys who get mods just to mess around, love those guys, they'll either give you a ride in the air, underwater, under the map or even give you money, collectibles or cars at the fraction of its cost with the only thing you have to pay for is the tracker and insurance.
"weak nature" its a videogame my guy, if a godmode if annoying you you can simply switch sessions, also I got suspended and restarted because I played with a modder who modded heist to give supper high payouts, the "good" modders have done me more harm than good
@@pissedoffbucketguy9115they cant directly give you money, but giving collectables such as the snowmen or the ones around the map do give you money and dont trigger the anticheat
And at worst, some mod menus straight up allowed you to impersonate players, bypass the normal session systems (i.e. getting into their invite-only sessions or even griefing someone in single-player), DDOS them, or get their IP address (I think this is less of an issue nowadays, though).

Man, this video hit me because I'm a player who plays a lot GTA V Online (like a lot here I guess)! Even though the PC Player are left in the dark of a "injustice by modders era", even on PS4 there are some God mods (invincibility, strange colours of the cars, high-level players with few playing hours effectively, bullets that go through the walls and reach players in different areas of the map, and so on). "GTA Online" for PS4 & PS5 is still a safe place, but on PC...Guys, it is the most chaotic game you could ever play online (just like BO3 nowadays). I literally felt bad when I saw how bad the mods on pc are in some sessions! Speechless. This video really showed a part of the "iceberg" that we have never seen before about this topic in a masterful way! FOR REAL, good work man!💙
I don't think you got to experience the absolute mayhem on not only GTA5, but every Call of Duty game on Xbox 360...especially when their disc drives inside the Xbox 360 consoles first had their security disc drive firmware bypassed (on all brands or models of the various SATA disc drives in different generations of the 360 consoles and flashed to be able to play any "back-up" copy of a 360 game after burning it to a blank Dual-Layer DVD and being able to play the games on Xbox live for over 4 straight years and even got to play some hugely popular games literally weeks before they released in stores and then I knew it was only a matter of time before they did a mass ban wave since I hadn't quite thought about Xbox Achievements popping and they show the exact date and time you unlocked them (which would easily show from a quick google search that many achievements had been unlocked weeks and even months before their release date...until the ban wave finally came through and bricked (hardware banned) millions of consoles from being able to connect to Xbox Live at all, not even to watch a youtube video. But this wasn't even the culprit of the mod menu's, it was all the JTAG'd 360 consoles that had absurd amounts of power as at that time I think Battlefield was one of the very few if not only game to use dedicated online multiplayer servers for console players, so you could rent and host your own public/private servers (as opposed to Call of Duty where your game would freeze until it finished migrating hosts by having a player become the host of a lobby, and then when they left the game it would find a new player with decent internet speed and transferred the host to someone else.....which more or less was how the modding community could force connect you into any lobby as they had admin privileges and could see the IP address of whoever was in the same game as they were, if they were the host. Ill never forget pre-ordering both COD:MW2 and MW3 on the 360 so we could go to gamestop at midnight to pick up our copy and game all night long, little did we know that within less than a week after either MW2/MW3 was released...I went to play hardcore TDM and somehow the JTAG 360 community were able to bypass you joining a public match, and instead auto connect you to their private "infected" lobbys which literally unlocked EVERY SINGLE WEAPON CAMO (as well as max prestige all the weapons)/EMBLEM/CALLSIGNS.... and even turned my Level 38 account to now permanently be Level 55 @ Prestige Level 10 within milliseconds of them force connecting me into their custom private "infected lobby" running on their almighty JTAG'd 360 console. I had never been so amazed and angry at the same time, as it basically ruined any chances of me being able to grind to unlock emblems and camos and prestige levels as anyone who was forced connected to those "Infected Lobbies" would immediately have anything and everything that could be unlocked and earned from "normally" playing hundreds of hours of COD, all given to you whether or not you wanted it or not. So not even a week or 2 after MW3 released to the public was I now stuck at Prestige 10 Lvl 55 with every single Gold Diamond plated camos for every single weapon in the game. But the even wilder part was once they connected you to their infected lobbies it would literally give you wallhacks/soeed hacks/ and had the wildest looking game breaking exploits all displaying on ALL ONLINE public matchmaking multiplayer modes...the ONLY way to remove yourself from having every advantage/exploit/etc was to completely unplug the power from your Xbox 360...otherwise you could technically just leave your Xbox on for days and weeks at a time to continue using their "advertised service". which i later found out they were just mass doing this to players to give them a taste of having their own custom mod menu that was completely undetectable and unbannable since it was being pushed out from their JTAG console acting as a legitimate server side game feature. (And nobody was safe from this since I had just received 2 of my Elite 360's back from Microsoft after 2 weeks for them to permanently fix the RRoD issue... and I had even received both fixed consoles with the most up to date Motherboard and chipset that added HDMI ports to the back of the original PHAT black Elite consoles with the 120GB hard drives on the very top. Then everything became the wild west with modded 360s running games downloaded to an external USB hard drive, without requiring any physical disc to be in the drive and all the wild mod menus on GTA5 where you'd accidentally receive like 150,000,000,000 bucks falling from the sky even if you had absolutely no involvement or knowledge of what was happening.
Watching this video made me appreciate my choices about lobby selection. I've only spent 4 minutes in a public lobby, for the other 250+ hours I played gta online in invite only or crew sessions to play peacefully with people I trust or with no mod menu
It's a real shame we can't resolve this. Playing against actual real players in this game was just awesome at times. Watching others play was like watching a lethal weapon movie. The aerial dogfights were my fav. Now, I can't get myself to enter a public lobby. Even sadder, I don't have any hope Rockstar has or will do anything with GTA6 to resolve this either. I'd like to know the actual legal limitations they ran into, seems like it would be a cash cow for an agency to help prosecute these people. Let's be honest, modding is the incorrect term, should be called hacking if 'my' experience is altered from what I paid for.
I prefer PC gaming, but I've always played gtav on consoles. I basically never deal with cheaters other than people who do glitches, and even then they aren't bothering me. Grand theft auto is a console game, and it's poetic to me that the PC version is hell.
Console is the future of gaming. The next generation consoles will be as powerful as pcs and probably have swap-able gfx cards. Already has full knm support, then what for pc? Cant mod on a console if you cant access the files. Modders have ruined the whole of pc gaming. As soon as console catches up there will be no reason to play on pc
I myself have also resorted to mod menu for my own safety after a few catastrophic incidents with modders following me everywhere, one of them did this for few months straight which literally broke my will and I got a menu to get rid of him.
@DarknessWithn yeah, first we get bullied in game and then we create this hate towards modders. I also kick and block every single of them without a second look.
" for your own safety" 😂😂 sure, you're just another loser who activates mod menu when you get killed by a rank 20 just because you can't defend yourself. You're even worse than cheaters
some modders including me help others on their side missions. helped a low player out on his heists today and i felt happy for him to spam in the chats saying thank you!
Modding Xbox 360 was some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had, especially GTA5, created some of the earliest mods available back then and met a huge amount of like minded buddies. As many times as I "trolled lobbies" I always made it 10x more enjoyable for 100s of lobbies and made sure everyone got money and cool things to show off to there friends that they've played with a modder 😂

This is not even about rockstar's anti cheat. The main problem is with the server protocols the game uses. the game uses p2p, meaning that the players are directly connected to one another, making it incredibly challenging to secure at all.
Honestly, this makes me wish that I live in an alternate world where GTA Online failed and Rockstar/Take-Two still focuses on making Single Player content. Non of these would happen if they discontinued it.. or at least maybe change the main core of their servers to make it more secure and not make it P2P.
It is indeed very sad... join an open lobby, "oh its only one other guy, maybe I can do my stuff here and still be in an open lobby" -> "and shit, he's modding"
Great job on the video, I played on PS3 years ago and ultimately the modders made it impossible to play online,so I abandoned the game and never went back. I personally will never give Rock* my money again.
I don't think so but the modding has gotten so out of hand on PC that GTA:O on PC is pretty much just invite-only or die at the hands of modders. But nowadays, more people who play GTA 5 on PC will be playing on FiveM or some other alternative online service.
The worst part about this is that not only is your account at risk, but your LIFE too. People being able to see where you live because your IP address is leaked virtually is harmful and dangerous to your well being. Who knows what these scumbags will do to you irl if they have the audacity to stalk you? And of course we know who should be held responsible if that were to happen.

Whilst I do admit to being apart of the MODDER problem, I use mods to protect not only myself, but the other players that are in my lobby to the best that I can. If there is a toxic MODDER going around the lobby perma off radar killing people, they will be removed from my lobby. If a MODDER is using a godmode character to kill people, they will be removed from my lobby. If a MODDER is explode looping the lobby I am in, they will be removed. If a MODDER uses perma off the radar so that they can mind their own business and not have to use godmode, I let them stay, if they use a godmode character to not get killed by griefers, as long as they do not kill that player I let that MODDER stay. Basically when a MODDER is in a lobby that I have session host in, I am not not only judge and jury, I am the Judge, Jury AND EXECUTIONER! In other words, u use mods to help people, I will praise you. Use the mods that you have to mess with the lobby, cya. If u use ur mods to troll ur friends in my lobby, I will get you to prove that ur friends. If you have proof that ur friends but I deem it insufficient evidence I will ask you both kindly to stop it or do it in a different lobby or get more evidence. If your a TH-camr and you troll someone and I question you but you message me on social club saying that ur a TH-camr and ur recording a video were u troll with mods but then reward the person u troll if they’re a good sport about it, u can stay but with limitations

If you lump them all together, that gives you reasoning to take them all down. Any changes to the game will not be tolerated. Despite the early GTA games encouraging it by having cheat codes built in
Yea right? Cheat was created in GTA SA and cheat is a code that you can enable in story mode to get godmode for example, but that code is authorized in story mode, modding is a completely different thing

Nice pun "Adressed"
We’ll get console we all know pc have mass modern and hacker

When I built my computer I missed playing GTA 5 and spending hours tinkering with my cars and walking around, but seeing the situation today I think it was a relief not being able to transfer my account because I have so much affection from my Xbox to the PC.
This was great. Makes me wish MMI makes a full GTA Online documentary starting from the very first chaotic yet legendary days.
It is nice to hear videos with a voiceover! 😊
But then giving you money and collectibles will probably trigger the anticheat, I getcho point tho

@@pissedoffbucketguy9115they cant directly give you money, but giving collectables such as the snowmen or the ones around the map do give you money and dont trigger the anticheat

Good Thing I Only Played Online On Console and Only Play Single Player on PC Since My Copy Is Pirated.. Fuck Online Anyway!!!! Too Much Grinding If You Want The Cool Stuff...
As standing today, R* has finally added strong anticheat, BattlEye is here
Imagine if rockstar is silently collecting all the data they possibly can on these mod menu's and modders just to blacklist it all and anti cheat ban them all from upcoming gta 6
I thought the same thing. Shit wouldn't be a bad thing except those who are casualties of others. Did a hesit legit or so I thought and bam extra money. It sucked but I didn't ask for that and by the time I realized what had happen, I figured rstar would have just taken that money out. It wasn't in the bank but still. I just don't want it to get me later down the road.
Well thank you for spreading information about the mod menu scenes, rockstar has fucked up alot of times
loved the vid bro 100 percent wright . why not do a video on rockstars customers suport .i personly have had a ruff experince dealing with them and kept all and every shred of evidance on the subject
This is like the only gta youtuber that actually edits his videos.
If your a TH-camr and you troll someone and I question you but you message me on social club saying that ur a TH-camr and ur recording a video were u troll with mods but then reward the person u troll if they’re a good sport about it, u can stay but with limitations
is that an excuse to cover up your modder instincts? you trying to act like a good guy? trying to cover up your actions as a modder? I mean nice reason and nice excuse but really, what are your intentions? I know them bad intentions are knocking on the door of your mind. Be a good modder, but you won't be for long.
Corny asf delete ts
bro really added the kendrick lamar scream. goated.
Duuude I remember the day it happend. The guy invited me to his apartment and gave me so much money.😂 he kept dropping bags on the ground and I was very confused bc I didn’t know if my account would be banned.
love how 11months later its less of a problem of money and other stuff cause its hard for me to find one money menu but i found one for only me but yeah menus become less of a problem
As a modder I can confirm this
As another modder i can also confirm this
same here i own menu for years and got 0 bans instead in every lobby there is at least 3-5 modders....in EVERY.SINGLE.LOBBY
@@piccoloatburgerking as another another modded i can also also confirm this
@@vasik9645as another another another modder I can also confirm this
as someone who uses mods simply for protections i can confirm that a lobby with 5 people will have at least 1 or 2 people with a menu
3:43 that's why I wonder why does GTA 5 freeze's on the loading screen whenever I am in mid online lol 😢. I thought that my PC was trash. But the GPU and CPU is innocent 😇
And the modders are the culprit 😡
I suspect they also do this when I play on PS4
you could have a 4090 and 32 core cpu and your gta could still crash on its own
I find it kind of weird that cheaters/hackers in gta 5 are called modders, because modding and cheating is not exactly the same thing
@@KnightmareUSAI don't understand the problem that game companies like Nintendo or Rockstar have with modding. It's literally free content. Skyrim is still alive, mostly because of the modding community. Just give us an official mod interface (Not a cheating one, but for community mods) and restrict it's usage to special mod lobbies, where your profile is basically frozen, so anything you do there doesn't affect your main profile.
They want control. No mods unless they go through the Rockstar filter. The wrong mods shown in the media could harm reputation, and worse, they aren't making money out of any of it. Companies believe the best mods are potential dlc that should not be free. Comparing to Skyrim,I think for a franchise as large as gta, free content will only be on the cards if there's a path to entice you to purchase much more. The core of the company has evolved from a tiny 1980s company in dundee (dma design aka rockstar north) to a US giant in nyc in which they must keep their shareholders happy. They've taken over FiveM too, which I believe was an unofficial mod friendly alternative to GTA online. The likely outcome of that will be so they can monetise it or slowly and quietly shut it down@@triplebb9809
I think calling them modders is more accurate that hackers. Since most these kids aren’t hacking anything
GTA Online: Plagued with modders because Rockstar has instilled hyperinflation to in-game currency
Playerbase: Make grinding have bigger payouts
Rockstar: No.
Playerbase: Alright we’ll mod money in then
Rockstar: *_Ban._*
keep up the good work my man!
I love the way you convey the story
They didn't add and remove the crash in the single player option from the menu because they wanted Rockstars attention. They wanted to make their paid menu more popular so more people will buy it, but then they realize that it's too powerful.
Bro i literally remember you having a modded money and mod menu selling platform as a sponsor
I mean if you can’t beat em join em.
yeah but he never used for bad stuff
In case, if you guys are unaware of it, even though this video was done 10 months ago, but now there’s some hope as it looks like rockstar is currently looking for anti-cheat programmers to join rockstar and to create a new anti-cheat for their 5M program, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this would also be integrated into GTA onlinefor testing in the future
This guy desevre eveything yall like
Well this aged well, they bet them
Can you make a little bit more videos like this?
This felt like a whole 2 hour movie. What a masterpiece (2)
I used to play without a mod menu before Cayo perico, but then i encountered more and more modders and very agressive ones that would cage me in or crash or kick me. I got sick of it and decided to download a mod menu myself. I was flabbergasted of the fact that it was so easy to setup. Got banned after a while and never played GTA online since. 100%ing the singleplayer from time to time is much more fun imo
7:37 Wait! Were those tweets real!? 😂
Not only was i wide eyed this man used his real voice on a vid, but the reality modders and cheat makers can manipulate and fix rockstars game faster than they can. That’s crazy
Let's revisit how random dude solved the long loading problem
Rockstar Hired FiveM Modders so Wouldn't Doubt Their Hire Even More Modders for Shit They Can't Fix
@@OzArt I’m guessing you meant “Sherlock”, GG though smh 🙄
I’m definitely subscribing this was amazing 👏🏾
Boy this title didn't age well. Kernel level anti-cheat is now obliterating modders and I'm loving every second of it.
ez thing to bypass
For 3 Days of course
Cope
all it did was prevent steam decks from accessing gta online. It didn't do a great job at blocking modders.
they care about banning cosmetic glitches more than godmode, money, or harmful glitches/hacks
This is facts I’ve been using a mod menu for years now and they only things they’ve caught is my glitched outfits lmaoo
Which one? XD
well this aged quickly
Can I be honest: I play GTA Online but in a "Only Friends/Only Crew" session - and as long its not some random people, it's safer.
