Thank you for all of your videos. I'm 55yrs old & with some health problems & just now in my life finding it very hard to do the 9 to 5 blue collar job. I'm needing to find a way to make this Ebay thing work for me. If I could make $3000 a month I could still be able to pay my bills. So I'm watching & learning from your videos & wanted to say thank you!

So one thing I’ve tried and actually had some success in as an experiment was what I would call market manipulation in one product. A friend of mine and I bought every available stock of a lower valued Pokémon card and watched the market value of that card triple in value. And then trickled them back into the market for a profit on each card.

I am helping a family clean out a family member’s house, and about 90% of my small eBay store listings in past 3 months is from that house for free. I take it instead of them driving to a donation place. I did a lot of HBA from couponing during COVID but lots of common items that sold back then now sit for too long and potentially expire. I also get a lot of free stuff and lots of bubble wrap from my town’s dump/recycling center. There is a take-it-or-leave-it shed and found lots of good blenders and coffee makers there. You taught to part it out if doesn’t work.

Can keep cogs at $1 in your example. Then write off the 8-12 items you can’t sell at 100% loss. “Keep” them in inventory as they did also cost you $1 - eventually write them off - Reduce your taxable income which I’m sure you are doing somehow. I know what you’re saying though in terms of thinking it costs you $1 where in reality it doesn’t but in business accounting as you know there are many ways to declare everything

I do most of my sourcing from Facebook marketplace, besides stuff from our house. Our business is doing really well so we are trying to ramp up some sourcing. Tried Retail arbitrage for the first time from your recommendation and did well on 2 lipsticks. Unfortunately not many thrifts in my area (and the one closest to me is terrible) so trying to figure out sourcing elsewhere.

We source mostly from auction lots, mixed estate and overstock items, so we frequently buy a flat of items, some of which sell, and some of which must be trashed/donated. From my perspective, I want to add a different opinion about counting your cost of goods.
Instead of not counting the ones that don't sell, how I would enter that purchase into my records would be at the $1 per item cost of goods (the 40 for $40), but if 12 don't sell, they are marked as a loss and -$12 would be counted. You still make the same at the end of the day from the ones that do sell, but you also have a count of what your "loss" is, which is of course a *WRITE OFF* which is very nice to have a count of at the end of the year when taxes roll around 😁 If corporations write off the goods that come in damaged and its an expected cost of business, we should do the same!

I source most of my goods from storage lockers... which are their own beast and I sell via an even split of eBay, FB Marketplace and having my own yard sales. My local thrift store is super inconsistent unfortunately on having quality product to flip but I still go 2-3 times a week since it's right next to my post office.
