- Hi Guys,
Tonight I have a story from one of our viewers, his name is Todd. While growing up Todd and his family would make trips to Oregon in the summer. On one of these trips Todd went fishing in the woods along a wilderness creek....there he encountered something in the forest that was extremely frightening and it followed him while he was getting lost in the forest by himself!

To me, it sounds like the Sasquatch kind of drove or escorted the boy back to the creek; definitely rescued the boy from being lost.
yes - interesting thought...possibly!!! c
Me too, I believed Bigfoot helped him to find his way out.
Yeah that's a good thought I like! If these things are like apes we know they can be actually quite gentle.
There are other instances of Forest People being helpful to humans, especially children and the lost.
@@auralepiphanies4055 Yes, and in one of Chris's stories, the Sasquatch chased people out of their territory, but then rescued the teenager from a log pile that fell on him. More bark than bite?
This is a scary story that this young boy experienced. He is a brave boy and I am so happy that Joanne believed him.
Me too! poor kid! C
I can't imagine being so brave as to be able to spend the night in a tent out in the woods😊 I love that
Personally I would be too scared to ever go back there. Kudos to Chris.
What a beautiful spot - I'd never want to leave it. Great story telling as always Chris!
I did'nt want to ...I'll go back and do another video. From the tent! C
Only time my husband and I took a wrong turn was in Glacier National Park. We continued on a trail for about a mile and did not recognize anything (we were on the way back to the trailhead parking area).
I listened to my gut that said “turn around and head back to correct your mistake”. After a half hour of reversing course- we found where we had gone wrong.
The time spent off course gave me a thought that this is how people disappear while hiking.
Some times in spite of maps and compass readings, you need to listen to your gut.
That's one of my greatest fears, getting lost in the woods!
Yes- that is a great point to listen to your gut…make the effort to go and get back on the correct route…moving forward with determination does not always work. C
It's so easy to become disoriented!
Never leave the trail or wander away from a stream! Be prepared with water, food, protection! Love your stories and hope to hear more content. Your skills telling these experiences are excellent!
Great advice!
👍@@alternatereality4198
@@alternatereality4198 yup!
As a ex-nurse I can tell you Chris that there are definitely strange things that happen. I don't like calling them stories there more like life events that open your eyes to the fact that there are bad & evil that we can't explain. Know your God. Period.
Thanks Craig! C
Amen! Knowing our God, gives us a protection,we otherwise, would not possess!!!....Praise Him❤
By far my most favorite backdrop! I love that type of stream, snaking through the grass, not a 100 ft wide river with rocky shores. This is a dream location. What a place to have a cabin! Thanks for the video, great story :)
Couldn't agree more! Thank you for watching...bcc 🌲
Agree…Great valley and a great time of year! KH 🌲
👍
Love your channel!! Great story telling skills!!❤
🐻🍺🌲
Whoa, creepy, especially at 12 years old. Great story. Love your show.
Thanks so much!
I love your content ❤.. please don't stop doing what your doing .. it truly makes a difference
Thanks Magician… means a lot to me!🌲c
How did I miss this?? Woohoo! perfect timing, leftover Chinese for an early lunch just before continuing on my project :)
Yes, I didn't notice this one.
There was no notification for this video 😢
A few days ago there was a notification for this story, but he removed the video. I did not receive another notification. 🙃
I never got a notification for this one either!
I can relate so much-when I was 10-11 I got lost not more than a few hundred yds from my house and got so disoriented and panicked by the same groupings of trees-I luckily sat down and stayed down for a good 1/2 hr before making my mind up which direction to go. I was quite experienced in hiking and camping from an early age but it can happen quickly all the same when you are young. Glad the kid made it out!!!!!
Confidence can disappear in a moment - when lost! 🌲🌲🌲
Another good one Chris and thanks for taking us along. I stubbed my toe so I'm not going to go hiking right now😂 I'll catch you down the trail somewhere and be safe❤
It can happen when your old 2.
I grew up outside Grants Pass and got lost on BLM land in my back yard. I was 4 or 5. Made my way back hours later. Nobody knew I was missing.
Great story Chris, that young boy was lucky to have made it back alive !
Yes- I agree! ⛺️
@@basecampchris--Yeah Chris--something like that happened to my cousin's, brother & me, & later being in a tent with a hairy arm & hand reaching in trying to grab one of us, namely me! (Mid 70s, Indiana PA; we were between 6-13 yrs). Cops in area later found a giant footprint👣--Anthropologist called in to make a cast which he held up on the local news!
Love this good beer great story wonderful host thank you for your stories.
Glad you enjoyed it
Yikes, I missed this video from last Thurs!! Glad you are a safe and sensible hiker, Chris, not trying to cross the deep stream is so smart. Great story and great beer as always! :)
Great stories, thank you !
Hi!!! I loved this true story. You always tell them so well!!! You take there, like I'm living what the person is living n seeing what he is seeing n hearing n everything!!! I'm so glad the boy came out alive to tell his story !!!! Thank you for another outstanding story !!! Be safe!!! 💗
thank you so much!!!! bcc
What a story Chris! This young boy must have been petrified. That's one of my fears about going into a deep forest that I would get lost. You know, by alot of encounters that many people have had, my theory is that bigfoot is not harmful. I think they are territorial and don't like people in their space but they aren't violent creatures. ( hope I'm right). Lol. Safe hiking Chris!❤
Getting lost in the wilderness has always been a tremendous fear of mine as well.
How terrifying!! By himself, lost, AND stalked 😳 What a beautiful stream you’re next to 🥰
I don't know what I would do if I saw one like that!
Yes i love his backdrop1
Looks like a good trout stream
It is ...KH! C🐺
I couldn't believe my ears when you said that was _the_ spot! I remember that story, and I remember researching about the whistle too. You are brave! But it's a gorgeous place, I understand why one would want to go back! Great story as always.
Yes, after that story we went and purchased that whistle just to have it just in case
That's very smart, I think I will have to get one as well!
Yikes! I jumped twice with this sound effects! this one really got me!
Hello Chris 👋 That is an amazing location. Great story. Thanks again for all your hard work. Much appreciated 👍
Thanks! C
Please be safe Chris. I'm glad you used caution and didn't cross over the creek.
I absolutely love your channel!! You're a fantastic storyteller, and show us such beautiful locations. Thanks so much! 💗💗
Appreciate that! C⛺️
Great story Chris and thanks Todd for sharing. I'll never get tired of seeing the Sierra mts in your videos 👍
Good story .. glad he made it out ok .. terrifying for sure . Just can’t wait for your story’s to be posted . Thank you again Chris for another good video , cheers !

Always appreciate your videos. 👍🦧
Hello 👋 Chris, that was a good story thank you for sharing it. Stay safe out there. 🤗
Your being back there after that scary experience is really something. You must love the adventure of the unknown. If I were the the boy who went through that trauma, I would never want to be near a woods again, let alone fish along the creek.
Chris has much more courage than I ever will!
Thank you for yet another great story, Chris. I look so forward to your weekly contribution. So wish you would do two per week. 😊
Looking to get help with the editing… it should open up more time to produce more content… which is a goal of mine. C

Thanks Todd. As always thanks Chris. Be careful out there.

"In Search Of"... Watched it ALL The Time ‼️♥️
Another super scary and great story Chris!
I'd hate to get lost in the wilderness. 😢
Love your videos, stories, Beer testing! 🍺
Love a good beer with my meal. 👍🥰
Watching his videos makes me crave beers
This reminds me so much of an experience I had in the Santa Cruz mountains when I was 16. The biggest difference was, when I got to the edge of town and was out of the forest, I was about 25 feet away from this thing. It made sure not to let me get a good, clear look at it. I only saw its eyes and one hand, as it pulled a branch of the conifer it was hiding out of the way of its view. I honestly *never* thought 'bigfoot' (possibly out of fear?) until just a few years ago, when my daughter wrote a book report for school about bigfoot. Heck of an experience.
Chris I am a recent subscriber and found your channel one night when I couldn't sleep. I am hooked! I love the stories and the hiking adventures you take. I feel just like I am sitting at the campfire with you. And the beer tasting is great! I have tried some and enjoyed them. Please continue on with the scary encounters!
Thank you for watching Carrie...More to come.
Such a beautiful location and yet another fabulous video 😎👌
Many thanks!
🌹🌹🌹 Chris, you make my week!! More, More, More!!!
Gorgeous area that you hiked to, Chris. I could live there for the rest of my life. I also love the story. I can’t wait to hear the next one. Please stay safe and cool. God bless. 🙏 🤗 😊
Thank you!! Appreciate it! C⛺️
It happened to me and a friend at 12 hunting mule deer here in Utah. Once seen it cannot be unseen. I'm a career Army vet and lifelong hunter in the Rockies. We don't misidentify, our lives rely on nano seconds of decision. They exist, I honestly am way past who believes or not. I know, John knows and rhe Army absolutely knows as well. 🦅🇺🇸🦅🌲👣👣👣🌲
Appreciate your comment…! Too many people to think they don’t know what they are talking about.
Location is epic!
I'm always up for one of your stories Chris, love em. While most of your stories find people getting scared by or stalked by possible sasquatch, I don't recall any of them harming the humans. Have you heard of anyone being injured by a squatch? Of course there are the stories of hikers & hunters disappearing without a trace that are intriguing. What about squatch vs. bear stories?
i would also be interested in Sasquatch vs bear encounter. I wonder who would win?
How terrifying for a 12 year old boy. I never want to experience anything like that. Hope you are doing well Chris. Keep bringing the stories.
I agree! Thank you. C
I think this was one of the scarier ones
Poor Todd. Scared out of his wits. Thankfully someone believed him. Good story, Chris. Oy! I wouldn't spend a night in that spot where you had your experience. BF is probably saying to his buddy, "There's that guy again but with a camera." The buddy says, "I don't want to be on camera." It's so lovely there, though.
That’s funny!! C 🌲
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Die Gegend sieht Wunderschön aus
This shows how easy it can be to get off-trail and lost in the forests.😮 I feel that most of the missing person cases within National Parks, etc. happens just like this. The person gets a little off-trail then keeps going, hoping to find their way back, but are just getting deeper and deeper into dangerous areas. They end up getting buried in shale, falling off a high spot into dense underbrush where they die; falling into the rushing rivers to drown and get swept miles away, etc. Very scary. Besides following a creek, I think kids should be taught how to use a compass and be expected to always carry one on any excursion into forest lands. Having a buddy along is always a good idea too. Great story.
Hey, maybe you experienced hearing a bison or buffalo steamrolling through the forest. You can hear them from a long ways off and they make a really huge huffing-growly sound. I know you would rather have it be a Squatch tho. 😊
People don't realiza how easily and quickly you can get lost
The Bigfoot wasn't why Todd was late getting back. It was him trying to make up time and leaving his known path.
It is so beautiful in the Sierra. I sure miss it. That was a great story. I would have been terrified also.
Beautiful spot and I love the story!
Great story, great story telling. The beautiful setting made me want to pack up and move back to Wyoming ... sigh ....
My Favorite spot....fish too. C
The heat index down here in Deep South Louisiana is and has been in the hundreds. People’s swimming water is so hot it’s uncomfortable, that stream looks delightful. I can see myself sitting in it.
What a gorgeous spot, Chris!
It was! Appreciate you watching! C
Great story you was right never leave that creek, he was lucky he got out, That creek was his way out, But 12 yr olds make mistakes.
Must have been weird that you were at the spot where you had experienced that nite my hat off to you alot of people would not want to some people just need to know what it was that happened to themselves
Thank you! C
No wonder that's one of your favorite spots--it's beautiful! Great story. I'm so glad Joanne believed him.
I love all your stories. So many people are seeing these things. I have never had the chance to see one yet.
I always thought an overprotective parent/parents were just parents that were a little overly strict until I went home with a friend in like 7th or 8th grade and he started to warn me about his mom at lunch and on the bus ride home after that half day on a Friday and I thought I had a good idea of what to expect and be prepared for but later found out that boy was I so completely wrong and totally underprepared for what I would witness and experience that Friday until I got picked up from his house by my dad Sunday afternoon. I will absolutely NEVER forget watching him step up onto a tree limb about 3 feet off the ground in his backyard where his feet could have brushed the growing if he had hopped up and sat on it with his legs dangling instead of standing on it and suddenly out of fkn nowhere hearing his mother letting loose the loudest most intense screams of absolute mortal fear and panic and seeing her come sprinting out full bore from out the back door and never stopping her terrified screaming until she got her hands on him and helping him hop down off the tree branch standing ready in a stance like she was catching her child that had to jump out the window of a 3 or 4 story buildings top floors. I couldn’t even comprehend what was happening until she started to sob uncomfortably and patting his limbs etc down asking if he was hurt anywhere at all and then switching to punishment mode for daring to do anything even remotely like that and telling him how incredibly dangerous what he was just doing truly was etc… the scary thing is that there are parents who are even more extreme and overprotective of their kids even after they become full grown and mature adults and even after they get married etc. no thanks!! Had to relate that experience after u saying that boy in the story had an overprotective mother but he could have def had it even worse that’s for sure!!
Punctuation is everything.
Liked and shared on my Facebook. Well done story as usual, chris! Hopefully we get to see some cookouts soon while telling your storytelling even camp outs in a tent. I miss those kind of videos
In Yellowstone this week...camping and cooking again soon...bcc🐻
No wonder he was scared if he'd been watching 'Deliverance.' Nobody wants to end up like Ned Beatty. One story about that scene, apparently the actor getting Ned to squeal like a pig wasn't a professional actor. He was just some local and when the director yelled 'Cut' to end the scene, he didn't stop and they had to drag him off Ned. It always cracks me up.
I read that too! 😂
Yikes!🌲
Thanks for the story and the beautiful background. I lived in Colorado and New Mexico for 26 years of my adult life. Now I live in a beautiful town in New Jersey. I love Jersey, but I miss Big Sky country. Your stories and background provide me with my mountain fix.

😮 such great story poor kid will remember that experience for the rest of his life, I believe Bigfoot helped him find the creek, 😮. Your experience was amazing was looking behind you at all times seeing if the big guy was caught on camera 😊

Another OUTSTANDING one Chris! Thank YOU! I must say, that's not an average twelve year old. He was very brave for his age!
Wow, that poor kid, how scary for him and us listening, wow, thx
That was a good story Chris! You were very brave to go back near that same spot, especially as it was getting dark!

Thanks - couldn’t there but it brought back those memories!
Can’t believe you went back to that scary spot!! Love your stories👹
Thats wild! Thanks for the great story!
Awesome Awesome awesome, as always, Chris. This encounter was pretty scary. I'm glad he was able to keep his wits about him as he was trying to find his way out of the woods.
Your encounter was pretty frightening itself, yikes 😬 😳. Everytime you tell it, I get chills 😬 😳. This is my favorite TH-cam channel. I love everything about it. Plus when you tell the encounters you make me feel like I'm right there in the middle of it. "Now that's talent."
I remembered that place as soon as you started the video. I was like, that's where Chris had his encounter. Was it a different time or was it the same camping trip where you went down to the creek to wash you pans out after dinner and you either heard something or felt something 🤔 maybe you felt like you were being watched 👀. I can't remember. But great encounter and smart thinking with the whistle.
I own three of them one for me, my son, and husband. Never know when you may need it.

That hill that you camped on where the rocks are, is that a man made formation or natural?
I bet that you were absolutely scared out of your mind when you heard all that ruckus coming from the woods, I would have been FREAKING!! I believe that the Coyote was going to be Bigfoot's dinner that night, thank you Chris for saving the Coyote and ESPECIALLY you of course!!
