Great video Brandon, you and George remind me of Shelby from the old Axe Man series he was a swamp and river logger 😂
Darn, the way George handled that pontoon boat and rolled up the ropes he'd be a 3 striper Coast Guard Bosun's mate in no time.
Looks awesome, I can't wait for plow day.
my new favorite way to launch a boat. Now I have to buy a excavator .....
Nice to see your waterways maintained . Here in the northwest , we have to keep them "Natural" ..........
Brandon, thanks for showing what should be done! Here in the UK we have problems with the agency (Environment Agency) that claims to be responsible for Dykes, Streams, Flooding and Rivers, but don't do anything like what they should, when they should, if at all. They seem to want to charge the Land Owners for "damage" that they ignore, til it gets so bad that they notice, despite being told umpteen times by responsible people (Farmers) that there are problems !!!. Sorry, have to do my bit to get this matter talked about, as there are so many examples of neglect on their behalf, that this last winter, several farmers in Lincolnshire have had to suffer flooding because rivers have not been cleared of debris from vegetation etc that the river banks have breeched their banks, and the agency has done little or nothing to help people.
You guys did an outstanding job clearing up navigation impediments on those 2 rivers.
I hope your local government and those who use them appreciates the work you guys put in.
Looks like excellent canoe and kyak country.
Especially with Bald Eagle nests in the area for birders to enjoy.
These are pretty rivers
Your pontoon works great
Interesting project
Interesting job, nice video.
You guys remind me of the old show, the beach combers.
Outstanding!!!...as far as a winch, gotta Backhoe, use a utility wheel on yer Rear drive wheel,
I watched the corp of engineers doing something similar along the banks of a narrows area at a nearby lake. They created a raft out of beach balls, cause they needed an extra pontoon platform…for some reason, not sure exactly why. But, afterwards, the excavator and skid steer operators had a good time destroying the beach ball pontoon platform! LOL
Awesome video!! It’s so cool what yall do. I liked seeing Captain Steuben and Hester sailing the high seas in MS Wilson😂😂
Brandon, first off, I think you’d benefit from a capstan winch mounted on the 220 somehow for getting that stuff across the river. Secondly, since you mentioned a long reach/long arm/super stick whatever they’re called, I thought you might want to check out a guy I’ve watched for years called ekcatex in Latvia. He’s currently running a big “long arm” JCB with a fair sized ditch bucket on a tilt-rotator. He used to run a CAT 312 with the same set up but a don’t think I’ve seen it recently. He does mostly ditch clearing and a ton of beaver dams. Today it was 2 swimming pools.
It’s all ASMR (because of the language barrier? 🤷♂️) and it’s all pov from the operators seat. Might show you capabilities of brands you haven’t used idk
I think a lot of the shallow creeks and rivers should be dredged deeper to hold more water and more fish and bigger fish… my opinion…
That looks like a man-made river. What river is this?
Kankakee
I originally got started with the channel watching you work on old tractors. Now your other projects have caught my interest. How do you even have time for farming?
The river project was fun to watch. I found the location on google maps to get a bigger picture of the setting. Keep up the good work and the great videos!
Well thank you for watching everything now....well sometimes its tricky but we always find the time to do both!! I'm glad you found it on the map kinda makes the video more interesting when you can actually see how long the stretches of river....thanks for watching!
Need to get the Captain of that vessel the proper Captain’s hat!🤣 Another thing on that oil injection, my brother burned up his Johnson 90 because the warning buzzer or the pump didn’t work. When he replaced the motor he just premixed oil and gas.
Wish I had one of those to launch my boat. Then I wouldn’t have to wait in line at the boat ramp. Nice work guys ✌️
bravo
you need a “dry suit” or chest waders as long as the water is not deeper then your chest height.
it would be warmer and dryer might be a bit more comfortable. nice video you really have to
know your equipment and your line limits. and how the currents in the water run.
I enjoy all of your videos. I appreciate you very much. Thank you for sharing and I'll see you later.
DGS,
I truly enjoyed the river clean up. Thanks, Boe
Brandon, that oil pressure beeper most likely is caused by the oil pressure sensor.
I'd fix it if I owned it.
Blowing up the engine because you're unaware it's got no oil pressure is a way more exspensive problem.
Sure looks like a fun weeks work.
Proud to say I recognise your bank repair from a prev. video at 7:55. Looks to be still holding up well.
Looked like a warmouth bass
I grew up in La Porte and spent a lot of time on the Kankakee near the Kingsbury fish & wildlife area.
The Lastencky recoiler seems to work pretty good might need to lube it up a little bit thought i heard it squeak a couple times lol
New subscriber That's pretty cool where you guys do that I think I could do that all day long What do they do with the wood that you take out Get your another one my friend
All you need is a jet boat and a whole Lotta crazy here we go Shelby
Well, there’s your reason for jet boat only foot and a half of water
Great video, Sir. Looks like a "fun" job !!! lol Your friend from Michigan !!!
A winch would be so much handyer than playing with those ropes.
Lots of good firewood ! Do people take advantage of that free wood ?
Not usually
As I was typing the comment you said it yourself...Long reach time. lol Thanks for the video!
Very interesting to watch. Is the state paying you for doing this or is it out of your pocket? I know I live not far from the Eel River and it could use some of this as well.
It's the river board that pays us to do this work so state, local and federal funds are used for the work
Brandon, I’m just wandering how do y’all charge for this type of service? And as always great video!
More interestingly who pays for this work and what permits do you need to do it
You need to put some CVs in your machines and put one on your boat then you guys can communicate you should have some one in each one of your machines😮
How long before you start planting so beans and corn
I hope you have more videos like that you guys should try yankovic Yankee road there's a farmer in Florida on TH-cam
So how did the platoons hold up to all the tree trunk impacts. You going to armor them up before the next river adventure?
They actually looked perfectly fine
The prop didn't handel the sand and logs we couldn't see to well
Nice work. When are they ever going to open 10 mile road again to the public? It doesn’t look flooded to me.
As soon as the DNR gets done with their project they are burning trees in piles on 10 mile road they have probably over 100 piles they made up on the road from wood along the sides of the road
Brandon is that water way man made what’s it’s purpose for ear agate must be a dam somewhere to keep that water level nice
No waders?
Good thinking not to wear out the undercarriage.
Are you not distubing the floodway per federal rules?
