Very nice job. Me and my nephew are picking up a beater to turn into a shallow water fishing boat and duck hunting platform. Fun project for the summer. Thanks for the tips.
Hidden Fasteners can be frustrating with carpet and upholstery. Tips on finding fasteners for side panels etc would be great. Also detail on how you used hole saw to cut out around fasteners for deck removal when you smoked your drill. A lot of people dont know how to start a hole saw without a centering bit installed, also.
Love it! How complex is disconnecting the wiring? Also, has anyone ever panted the exterior rather than laying new vinyl? Good or bad idea? What kind of paint to use?
Hi Rob The wiring is not bad, just tag everything or detailed pictures. I would definitely go with vinyl or carpet. Paint doesn't last water can get under it and lift it, and is slippery. Make it attractive for resale down the road. Good luck on your project!
Hello! Can you tell me the type of vinyl you used and where you got it? Also, the type of carpet vs. Vinyl flooring? How did you disconnect the steering wheel without causing too many issues? TY for your video!
Hi I used marine vinyl, I can't remember the source. The reason I used vinyl is to keep the floor clean and protect the wood and adhesive. Disconnecting the steering wheel is easy. You tube search it but make sure you use gloves and put the end in a garbage bag, It's greasy.
The things I would look for is pontoon, motor and trailer conditions. Everything else is replaceable at a ok price either new or used. Good luck!! Its a fun project.

Thank you so much 😀
Nice work! What kind of plywood should we use? and thickness?
I used 3/4". I believe I used sheathing plywood. Before I installed it I water sealed it heavily and let it soak. I wasn't able to get marine plywood.
Thank you ,.Makes sense. @@DIYOnTheHouse
Great job on the rebuild! What did you use to remove the old decals from the fence?
We used a heat gun and acetone and that work well. It was time consuming.

Where did you buy your pontoon boat decals what was the name of them. And what kind of white paint did you use .
Wow - I wish I remembered. I looked through our receipts and I can't find the source for the decals. We used epoxy paint.
Nice
Thanks
What did you use to paint the aluminum??
an epoxy.
Would like to know the leaner on the vinyl seats.
Can you clarify "leaner". Thanks
Hello! What did you use to clean the seats? Thank you!
We used a Magic Eraser and Simple Green!
What paint did you use on the panels? And how did you apply it?
We used appliance epoxy paint in a spray can. Its extremely durable.
HI, i live in Central america and I would like to buy a cheap pontoon an refurbish, can you advice me?

Where did you snag the vinyl decals from?
We found them at pontoonstuff.com
Where can buy salvage pontoon?
We bought ours from a friend of a friend. Facebook and online classifieds like craigslist.
What about a boat with sinks?
You would do the same as the other items remove and reinstall.
Pontoon project boat. It’s been parked for over 15-20 years. We bought from Estate sale. Everything works just need restoration.
Sounds like a great opportunity!
@@DIYOnTheHouse we are thinking about selling pontoon boat if anyone is interested, we just don’t have time to fix it up.
It's swan. Not goose. ;)
I'm aware of that.
