    I’m in my 50’s. Have watched online lessons since the internet was created. You are a GREAT teacher. You condense a large volume of relevant information in a short period of time- while expressed in the simplest terms possible. That was Einstein’s definition of genius. Bravo!!!

    This method of teaching helps those of us that are "visually and hearing impaired" when it comes to guitar. I really prefer this detailed analysis and visual approach. I feel like I'm not left guessing trying to listen(which I do but just don't trust my ears) or watch every finger movement. Thanks.

    Hello Cecil, Great lessons. Do you break down all of the licks in this book this way? and if not can purchase the licks with the breakdown?

    The concept of forward motion is one I hear a lot of people taking about, I think I have a vague idea of what it really means, any help to clear the matter?

    This is fantastic work. How would you describe the difference between a “chromatic approach” and an “enclosure”.

    • @jazzlessonvideos
      @jazzlessonvideos  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Phil, thanks for watching! Generally we describe a chromatic approach as approaching the target note from either above or below. We describe an enclosure as being a group of 2 or more notes leading to a target note from both above and below. Hope that helps and feel free to dive deeper with this video playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLVZDXJ3ua9DkU95lk4uOlU3kIrIX6Ajmt.html

    • @Fiddlinphilkramer
      @Fiddlinphilkramer ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jazzlessonvideos fantastic! That was my understanding as well. Would you also be able to classify the chromatic approach's (3:27) in measure's 1 & 2 as enclosures then? or is there a subtlety that I am missing?

    Very Cooll!!!! Thanks 🤩 The third line play at tempo was slightly different when demonstrated playing slow. I kind of liked it better at the fast example.

  • @mgbasinski
    @mgbasinski ปีที่แล้ว

    So these are nice lessons, but PLEASE make sure that the tabs match YOUR fingering. The VERY FIRST example here - the TAB does NOT match your fingering. Not cool, this greatly reduces the value of the PDF.

    • @edrdavenport78
      @edrdavenport78 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a lot of ways to skin a cat-finger it how is most comfortable for you. it does seem like a strange discrepancy but two different players are going to have very different fingering preferences, so not a big deal imo

    • @mgbasinski
      @mgbasinski ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edrdavenport78 of course fingering is personal, but if you are going to have a particular artist SELLING lessons (a very reasonable thing), and demonstrating how to play something, and you are going to provide TAB, it's just incompetent to not have the TAB match what the artist is demonstrating.
