"Why am I getting swirl marks?"
"How do I manage dust in the workroom?"
Digging into the comment section of some of my past videos to answer your questions about SANDING! Plus, showing you some new tools and products I've just received, a cute rescue bunny update, and how you can contribute to an upcoming video!
It's been a whirlwind of a year! FULL DISCLOSURE- there's no furniture flip in this video but I'm saying goodbye to 2021 with this last video of the year, and looking forward with bright eyes to the new year and LOTS of awesome furniture projects!

Thank you for always keeping it REAL! your clear explanations of refinishing steps and processes and calm & quiet delivery is so appreciated! I enjoy listening to your videos and have learned a LOT here. I look forward to more videos in 2022, I'm not at all surprised that your channel has grown so quickly, the quality of your work is top notch. Oh and no way do you look old enough to have been a Pen pal! I guess I'm gushing here....but from someone of an "older" generation, I love that you work so hard to preserve and restore pieces, and that your videos are straightforward and calming to watch. ~

I am not at all surprised to see that your channel has grown so fast. I knew your channel would be a big hit after watching the first few episodes. You not only show us exactly what steps you take to finish a piece but you explain why you are doing what. All of your videos are very well put together and very informative. The buns are the bonus!! So glad all your fosters now have wonderful caring homes. I know from back in my bunny fostering days that it can take a wile to find a good bunny adopter. Have a wonderful holiday and thanks again for all your help!

You give good information about sandpaper. My painting business specializes in log home restoration so I go through thousands of sanding discs in a year. To keep employees from bearing down too hard on the sanders I explain to them that 80 grit sandpaper will never cut more than 1/80 of an inch no matter how hard you lean on the sander. I also require then to use their own sanders because too many of mine have been destroyed by bearing down too hard. When it comes to swapping out sanding discs I tell them that sandpaper is less expensive then labor.

Thanks for the shout out and explanation Ang! It made TOTAL sense. Now, I just need to make sure I can actually see or feel when I’ve smoothed all the way to the bottom layers in between sanding grits. That’ll be a bit tricky for me. You are AMAZING and my absolute favorite channel to watch. We ALL love you! The bunnies are just a really cute bonus. ♥️♥️

    • @TranscendFurnitureGallery
      @TranscendFurnitureGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

There’s a bit of a trick you can use! If you take a regular pencil and add very light (don’t press down into the wood, just run the pencil lightly over it) squiggle marks over the surface, you’ll know that layer is flat and good to go when the pencil is all gone. This is best used on solid wood though, as opposed to veneer. It helps clear up peaks and valleys too that may not be that visible to the naked eye or by feeling with your hand.

    Hi Angie!
First off, I LOVE seeing the bunnies and can’t wait to see your other bun buns. I have rescued bunnies as well and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the bunnies for the first time! Love the idea of flipping furniture to raise funds for local non profits, I’m going to try and do that for my local bunny rescues here in Calgary, AB ❤️
I would love to hear about your tattoos! They are amazing 🤩
Something I’d love to see you talk about is how you know what kind of wood a piece is. I’ve looked at websites explaining it but I find it so difficult, please help!!
Not sure if this is something you want to share but it would be nice to see a breakdown of you costs such as the initial purchase price of the piece and about how much was spent in supplies. Asking/selling price would also be nice.
Thanks for the wonderful content, you’ve got skills and I love that you share your knowledge. Much appreciated 💕

What kind of stripper do you use and what store do you buy it from? I’m in Canada too.
What kind of cloth do you use to spread stain?
What kind of wood glue do you use?
Do you buy special paint brushes? I love your work and can’t wait to get started on a small project!

Thank you for this video especially the sanding explanation. I've stripped my first piece but have been nervous about the sanding. Not too nervous any more now that I have a good understanding of grits.

Hello from BC. I haven't redone a peice of furniture yet but I'm going to try for 2022. Thanks for getting me to watch something other than News...so depressing. I love your videos because you are not trying to be the center of attention and you know your not funny. I think your awesome. My friend gave me an old desk made from plywood but it has a great shape. Keep up the videos..I love a great ending.
