Reports say 55 sailors are feared dead after China's nuclear submarine got "caught in a trap".
The accident is said to have taken place in August in the Yellow Sea. UK's intelligence report said the submarine suffered a "catastrophic failure" that poisoned the crew.
China has denied the incident, calling the information false. Palki Sharma tells you more.

This also gives them a cushion to use against their enemies once they do the same to any enemy vessel.
These subs all carry emergency oxygen candles to burn if the main generating system malfunctions. They should have a few days emergency oxygen supply with just the candles. Perhaps CO2 scrubbers malfunctioned and that buildup poisoned them.

Not knowing the status of the reactor, wasn't this about the time China started throwing out bad press about Japan irradiating the waters by releasing Fukoshima water known to be far below acceptable limits. China wanted to blame their potential nuclear 'oops' on Japan.

i'm missing the point here, remy. you mention an incident involving a surface-travelling heavy cruiser that got torpedo'd by the japanese navy. what happened to the CA-35 crew in 1945 was negligence and incompetence by the Navy specifically to inform McVay of Japanese presence in hostile waters, and furthermore, the incompetence of 3 station commanders who failed to answer the distress call.

A nuclear sub is one of a nation's most treasured and secreted war instruments . Obviously they wont ask for outside help, its like when the Russian Kursk submarine sank back in 2000, there was enough time for them to launch a rescue operation or get outside help, which they were offered, but the sub's secrets outweighed the 112 crew lives.

The same basic principles are still valid but the structure is much different.
I served onboard the USS Permit (Permit class) and the USS Houston (Los Angeles class) and toured the USS North Dakota (Virginia class) at her commissioning.

ridiculous. Chinese high speed trains are the best in the world. Chinese nuclear submarines are on par with the west. China is the only country with a space station. China leads 5g and 6g. China leads the world in solar, electric batteries and electric cars. The list is endless.

If it was nuclear powered, why was it relying on batteries ?
The report doesn’t make sense. The 55 men died of hypoxia? How so? This is a nuclear powered submarine which means power is available to produce to power to generate oxygen regardless if they are trapped or stuck. In other words, the reactor may have been damaged when the sub was trapped or a haul breach occurred leaving the chinese man to drown Or the oxygen reactor was damaged. Hence, the hypoxia. It is interesting that there were more officers and cadets than enlisted on the boat. In US and British subs only about ten percent of the crew would be officers. David, China did not reveal all those information. It was British Intelligence as per the Video. If true, how come the British knew about all this sitting 1000s of KMs away? Surely the Chinese did not tell the world about it.
Was thinking the same thing when I read it. Makes one wonder if senior enlisted in western navies hold the same position and responsibilities as junior officers in the chinese navy.
55 seems small number for a nuclear attack submarine.
I would think at least 100 men would be needed.
also, some other sources say there is no such sub numbered 093-417 in current Chinese Navy inventory.
Why talk about it if you cannot verify it?
Exactly!
Giv'em a break. People need to feel better than others, even if imaginary. Otherwise how will those in charge keep them in check?
There is no way that China could reveal the design of one of the most advanced subs. They would have sacrificed a thousand sailors to keep their technology secret.
Look, I'm no communist, but as a former USN sailor myself, sincerely my heart goes out to my fellow seaman and their families.
Firstly, thank you so much for your service to our great nation. You have a wonderful, empathetic heart, and, no doubt, your condolences are felt by those affected by this awful tragedy. God Bless You and Your’s.

Condolences for our enemy. You must be a damn democrat. The Chinese Army would gut you like a fish in your bed. Are you Democrats so daft? An invading army would kill you or me without a second thought. Call your Counterfeit President and tell him that you don't want ww3.
With almost 1.5 billion population, I don't believe China will ever worry much about losing 55 or even a few hundred. Mao once said in a nuclear attack, China would survive on sheer numbers. "We might loose 300 million or more but so what."
Only 55 crew? Over half officers? That is the strangest crew makeup I've ever heard of for a submarine that size. If lost, I honestly expect the number of dead to be double that. Same officer count, but over half of the crew is unaccounted for.
Palki has been beaming towards China. Very appreciated. Keep going😊
Palki is paid by the CIA to spread anti China propaganda among Indians! CIA has chosen a woman with a thick Indian accent, reasonably good looking (for an Indian) woman, and she never makes fun of Senile Biden or Hunter Biden. That gives their secret away.
Is it working? Are Indians now hating China and Russia?
Trust me even somebody blowing up the Moon Palki will accuse the Chinese😂😂😂😂😂😂
Deepest Sympathies to the sailors and their families .
Even Taiwan has denied the rumours .. If China themselves denied it how can people know every detail .. its a sub . Palki has no ethics in reporting

The Hindu reported that India’s only operational nuclear ballistic missile submarine, INS Arihant, was out of action for about 10 months last year due to an accident. The report raises more questions than it answers due to its glaring technical and operational inconsistencies. First, the news item stated that the Arihant’s propulsion compartment was damaged after water entered it, as a hatch on the rear side was left open by mistake.

What families? These men are all orphans. In fact, PLA is an military of orphans.
Reminds me of the russian sub and the crew died because russia would not take any assistance. It is just so sad and heartbreaking for the families.
That is why we use sonar.
Similar accidents happened with Russian subs during the cold war with the USA. Interesting contrast when the USS Thresher and the USS Scorpion were lost in the 60's. Served 23 years on the U. S. boats during and after that cold war. The Chinese Submariners on eternal patrol. I salute them for their valor and sacrifice.
There is more to the Scorpion story than we've been officially told. Check out "Red Star Rogue: The Untold Story of a Soviet Submarine's Nuclear Strike Attempt on the U.S." by Kenneth Sewell and then read "All Hands Down: The True Story of the Soviet Attack on the USS Scorpion" also by Kenneth Sewell. The first story, and the Soviet government's mistaken understanding of the incident, is the reason for the second incident. As an ex-boomer sailor, the stories are all too believable to me though I doubt we'll ever hear them verified by our government as both incidents would qualify as an act of war by the Soviet Union against the United States.
Good news that they will not get to attack Taiwan.
From 1955 to 1977 I served on 2 diesel boats, 1 nuclear fast attack and then three boomers. At the time of the Thresher loss we were in the Hunters point Naval shipyard for an overhaul. When the Scorpion went down I was at Comsubpac operations center in Honolulu. I was involved in the communications from Comsublant to Naval station Norfolk VA and Comsubpac. I saw enough communication traffic that convinced me the official story of Scorpions lose was mostly true. Later documents I read added info that they did not include in the original story. I can't buy the Soviet attack story. But then that is just my opinion based on what I saw in official reports. If it were happening now under the current administration I would believe a story that it was done on purpose so the big guy could get his 10%.@@lanpartyanimal5215
USN torpedo school has SOSUS recording of USS Scorpions demise. Worth noting in all this back and forth is the sinking of K129, the sub that Glomar Explorer went after. Good chance we intercepted that boat when it surfaced to do comms. We had tracked it all the way from Vlad, it surfaced at regular intervals, and we knew where it would be next. Velvet Glove photos show damage consistent with impact explosion. We will probably never know what really happened, but much circumstantial evidence indicates we deliberately sank the boat in order to effect the recovery of code machine(s) and weapons. Had the USSR called us on this it could have easily started WWIII. Sad for the brave men who crewed all 3 of those boats. @@lanpartyanimal5215
@@lanpartyanimal5215 Thanks for the info. I made a note of the book titles and I will read them.
Just like Russia and the Kursks sub. They could have gotten help but let their soldiers die.
Such useless armies, right? Why the hell do we need to help the Ukrainians?!?
How dumb are people claiming this "ask for help" would have been a solution.
The only thing "ask for help" would have generated is condescending propaganda.
Countries will ask for help from their true and trusted allies behind the scenes -- not publicly from their enemies.
And rest assured if they did ask for help from their allies, you won't be hearing about it from them or their allies.
LOL, she makes the assumption that China cared anything about the sailors on board.
What the hell was a submarine doing in the Yellow Sea, with ab average depth of 44m, bearly enough to submerge the thing. Sailors could have totally just come out and swim up at low 10s meter depth.
makes u think the story is bull if that's true. submarine crew would have known that.
Chinese sooopah pooowah full of incompetent buffoons military 😂😂
Too naïve and myopic to figure that out. It's unfair that one can view the ccp and its slaves through our more advanced, developed "Western" perspective
Well in China you rather die in a submarine than at the hands of CCP.

When it comes to China real or surreal it doesn't matter. Why pass up a good chance to bash China.
Also. China asking for help to rescue a Sub is like them asking for help manufacturing solar panels. The international community has nothing to offer.

Hang on… if the sub was nuclear powered, it should not have run out of air. Nuclear powered submarines don’t need to surface for air like diesel-electric subs do, they can stay submerged for months. Food is normally the only limiting factor, nuclear subs produce their own air and water.
Maybe the Chinese sub in this incident wasn’t nuclear powered, but a diesel-electric one?
Our condolences from India. We are humans deep down and we should not be in war like conditions
