That's the Best Security Check Ever.... AWESOMENESS He was so Chilled.. his trunk resting on the Ground he was quite happy with You being there.... ❤🐘❤
Excellent, as always Nicole. Thank you. Africa is a long way from where I live in Melbourne, Australia. Yet, I've managed to travel there 3 times and can't wait to go back again one day soon. I simply love Kruger (and South Africa in general).
Wow…what amazing experience watching the elephant of the road..Blair commentary. Just another brilliant vlog. I can’t express how talented you are Nicole. Been watching your journey on You Tube and you keep on delivering. I look forward to your series on Kruger national park. Take care be safe. x
I really appreciate the kind words (as always). Thanks for all of the support & for sticking around - it’s been quite an adventure over the course of this TH-cam Channel’s life!
The elephants between Letaba and Mopani seem to be a lot more agro in the last year or so. Was chased by one on the S50 for about 1km now in July. Was pretty intense. The only two things that scare me. On land, Elephants, in water, hippos. Nice video!
I really love your kruger vids. I always wish to see more of them. I also think a vlog on like what food to bring for picnics/breakfasts or snack on the toad may be cool. I always plan a list but would be nice to see your top kruger foodie list.
Thanks Meagan, you’re not the first to ask about menu selection when on a trip like Kruger, so I will definitely add this to the list of things to include for future Kruger videos!
Hi Nicole , it would be nice to see the shops in Kruger with prices for groceries in them and some insight on petrol prices and average cost per day . Trying to build a budget on expenses in KNP per day and that is one subject I can not find solid info on . I do understand that it’s very individual but an idea on prices will be great . Thank you 🙏
Hi Anat :) Sure, so I'll definitely take into account your suggestion for both fuel and groceries prices within the park for my future Kruger series but for now, I managed to find this info with regards to Kruger Fuel Prices online: www.fueldirectory.co.za/fuel-price1.php?listings_id=7069 With regards to groceries, it is definitely more expensive in the park and you're limited with choice, so it is definitely better to stock up on what you can before you go (freeze your meat in the chalets fridges & take out for every night etc.) but they do offer veggies, supplies such as sauces, alcohol, vegetables etc. and you won't be left hungry.
Wow you guys had some amazing sightings on that trip! Loving all this Kruger content 😍 and I'm also binge watching your previous vlogs 😁 I'm like oooh so much of home, and you guys are my new best friends in lockdown 😁😁😁
Beautiful sightings 🥰 Yeah - the big ellie was nicely chilled, however.... when in musth they can be very unpredictable - the guy in the red car was a prime example of how not to behave. I've seen cars ripped open like a tin can ........ enjoy - Kruger is magnificent 🌺🐘🦁🐆
I am curious what you think about exploring Kruger on my own. I planned a little Trip this year with Safari, but also hiking and doing stuff aroung Kruger area - but my friend is not so sure anymore so I am thinking about going alone. Now I am unsure wheter I should stay outside the park in Greater Kruger Area and take guided Game Drives or should I just go on my own. Maybe you have tips both inside and outside Kruger Park, where to stay, what to do when you are exploreing this area on your own :) It would be such a help. Beside that I love your blogs and it really makes me wanna go back to Kruger right now (it won't be my first time this year)!!!!
Hey Eva :) Bummer that your friend won't be joining but it's definitely still worth going alone. If it were me, I'd probably opt to stay in the park and self-drive, and you can always book a guided drive or two when staying at the rest camps in Kruger to get the best of both worlds. For the hiking, did you have any areas in mind? If not, there are many beautiful trails in the Blyde River Canyon which can be accessed easily from Hoedspruit, so it might be worth booking an Airbnb in the town after/before your Kruger trip (it's also right near Orpen Gate so close to Kruger). The Hoedspruit Hiking Club on Facebook might have some fun hikes on while you're there if you don't fancy going alone! I hope that helps!
@@NicoleEddy1 It sure did help a lot. Thank you so much. Which are your favourite Camps? Which one can you recommend. I've been to two camps already - a huge one and a satellite camp. But it's too long ago I cant even remeber which one it was.
@@evamittler5994 The huge one was probably Skukuza, but I love Olifants, Mopani (not much game but I just like the camp) & Shingwedzi is my favourite. Shingwedzi is more up North so it's great if you have some time in the park, but otherwise if you're strapped for time coming from Hoedspruit - Satara & Skukuza are both very central (and extremely game rich), Olifants Camp is perched high on the cliffs above the Olifants River & Letaba is not too far North from Olifants which also offers some great drives along the river. The Southern part of the park is always quite crowded as it's the most accessible area for visitors coming in for short periods of time, still really beautiful but I prefer the quieter parts.
Thanks for the instructional vlog on how to get a cardio workout while sitting! 😅. We also came across a roadblock in musth when we were in the Pilanesburg in May. Planning another trip there next month. Great vlog as always! Did the window washer get a tip?! 😆
Hahaha, absolutely. 1x Large Elephant and that should do the trick! The window washer got coffee delivered to him in bed so I think that counts 😉 Enjoy the Pilanesberg & hope that you don't come across any angry ellies!
Kruger is amazing and you capture the essence of it beautifully. Keep up the great work. Just a question. Is there a reason why you moved to the Sony A6600? do you still use the canon 5d MKiii for photography?
Wow Nicole, yet again that has been beautifully shot. The footage of the bird life was stunning. I assume you were using the new Sony, but what lens was it. Again your editing is always so spot on. Awaits such a pleasure to watch. 👍
Thank you :) Yes, I was using the Sony a6600 with a Sony 24-240mm lens & for the super zoomed in stuff, Blair was using the Sigma 150-600mm which has been unreal for wildlife shots. All of my camera gear is listed in the description if you want more details :)
@@NicoleEddy1 i am in love of KRUGER NATIONAL PARK! HAVE VISITED MORE THAN 50 TIMES IN MY LIFETIME! I AM NEARLY 80 AND THAT KRUGER HOLIDAYS WAS THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE! THANK YOU NICOLE ....I CAN REMINESS...WITH YOU!
They can make life real interesting! One year one the dirt track to the Biyamiti camp I reversed more than a kilometer because one grumpy old bugger decided the road is his, finish en klaar. He would trot closer, I would reverse, and every time I stopped he would flap his ears and tune me ISSIIIIIT! Then I would reverse some more. Until he eventually got tired.
Hahaha, game on for the elephant, the cheeky bugger 😂 Sometimes reversing can egg them on even more, but it does make for good story-telling around the campfire in the evening! At least your reversing skills were up to scratch 👌🏼
I can understand why you love the Kruger, as I have said before a brilliant experience, you are one lucky couple to be be to explore it as much as you do.But I keep getting mixed up between a hyena and a wild dog
We are definitely lucky, but I guess we also prioritise going there above everything else :) And it helps that Blair has family in the area, so we have a base to stay when we go up. With regards to the hyena & wild dog - they do look quite similar so I can definitely see how you might get confused. Wild Dogs are super scrawny and have big rounded ears, with what looks like paint splashed on their coat and hyena are typically bigger, bulkier with much more pointy ears and have spots on their coat (this species anyway). I hope that helps somewhat :)
Another - seriously cool. Man - she is good. No, I am not stalking you, but I might just be learning a bit. You seem to always be in the right place at the right time - Luck or could it be skill, experience and having a ‘beau’ by your side who seems to know quite a bit. You make a delightful Team. Haha, thank you! In the Kruger, there's always something lurking around the next corner, so it's probably more luck of the draw than anything else :) With regards to camera, I've just upgraded to the Sony a6600 and man oh man, it is delightful. But the zoomed-in stuff is shot with a Sigma 150-600mm lens which has also been a game-changer for wildlife shots. If you want to know more, I have linked all of my gear in the description!
Hi, I am South African living in the UK, i am bringing my wife and inlaws over for a months trip from Cape Town to Durban where i was born, to under burg to finish off in Marloth Park. so my question is we will be entering every day at crocodile bridge. so how early would we need to be at the gate to get in, or is it better to get to the gate about 2 hours after opening? i am surprising them all with one night stay in the safari tents at Lower Sabi. i will do as much as possibly with them but wanted your view on day visitors and how difficult it is vs entering the park from one of the rest camps. Thanks,

Hi Fiona, that's super exciting :) Of course, so I think the prices are roughly around R5500-R5900 per person for the Kruger Wilderness Trails, you can find more info on them here: www.sanparks.org/parks/kruger/tourism/activities/wilderness/about.php. I've only heard amazing things about the Kruger Wilderness Trails,. With regards to rates of activities, it varies depending on 1) the activity & 2) the camp that it is done from. At Skukuza there are 3 drives (morning, sunset and night) and range from R285 (night drive) to R365 (sunset & morning drive). The walks are more pricey at R630 per person. All of these can be booked online, or at the camp when you arrive which might be easier.
