Nothing better then Kruger! Would live there if I could. Seriously just listening to the hippos and cape doves puts me in my happy place. Can’t wait forever Kruger adventure
Your videos are always so beautiful and satisfying to watch. A true escape from the dreary weather over here in the UK. Been here since the beginning and it's amazing to see how much your confidence has grown. Keep smashing it 🤙🏻
Oh the route we have done so many times in earlier years! Had to quickly watch this older video. We did Kruger just after Cyclone Eloise in 2021. It was stunning with water just oozing out of the rock following the routes along the Lebombo range. We "rediscovered" Kruger in 2002 and since then the ocean trips simply went out the window! Love Cape Town though... My birth place.... This was a lovely video guys, will share later today with my wife. You two just got me all worked up again to load the camper and go! We used to do many November to February trips. It is simply awesome. The grass is not long yet as it would be at the end of the rain season and in many places Kruger is like a never-ending golf course in early summer... and best of all, most everything is having babies in this time of year. So shrug off the heat is the message to folk who are planning to do the summer Kruger haul, just GO!
Just got back from our first family road trip to Kruger. It’s a long drive from CPT! As a first-timer, the Kruger routes self-drive book from HPH publishing is a must-have. I’ll definitely be taking that again for future trips.
Hahaha, I'm glad that you're seeing the positives. When I was editing, I just kept thinking how daft I was to film at the beach when the swell was massive 😂
Beautifully and professionally done! Kudos on all levels of production. Can’t wait to see your videos on the Serengeti Park, the park I spent a few days enjoying. Got a few stories to share in this park. 😉😂😎 It was great seeing glimpses of your mom and dad. I wonder if there’s a family Safari adventure in the future with your and Blair’s family? THAT would be nuts! Good nuts! 🥂🍷😎
Can't wait to see your vlogs again. Especially in Kruger, my Happy Place. One suggetion to take with is a first aid kit as there is not always a doctor immediately on call at all the camps, although there is a doctor in Skukuza. Just for any insect bites, scrapes & scratches etc. Thanks for sharing, love your episodes.😉❣️
I think you will be pleasantly surprised, we've had awesome rain and in my 40 years here in Phalaborwa I haven't seen the bush so lovely and lush as it is this year. As I sit and write this the rain is coming down. Looking forward to your videos from the Park. We are currently experiencing a multitude of snakes here in peoples houses, the latest was a Mozambique Cobra found in the toilet bowl in the house. Also a lot of scorpions wondering around, but it's nature at its best and so awesome. Travel safe. Love and blessings from Phalaborwa.
Wow, that’s incredible! When we went up to Kruger last year Jan after the cyclone, that Satara region of the park honestly looked like the Delta with all of the long grasses and Ellie’s strolling through, so after reading your message, I can’t wait to see what it looks like now ☺️ Thanks for the inside info & we can’t wait to be up in your neck of the woods soon!
@@NicoleEddy1 Hi Nicole, thanks so much for the reply, it's Saturday morning and it has been raining here since Wednesday, we had planned to take a run to Shingwedsi but it is way to wet. Take care and travel safe, looking forward to your next vid. Love and blessings Schalk Steyn, in Phallies.
Hi guys, hope your trip is not rained out this time of the year. I'm based in the park and we have been told that the rains this year are going to equal 2000 flood levels. I'm situated on a private concession near Skukuza and the Sabie River is flowing super strongly. It will be raining on and off for the next few days and hope your trip is not affected. Good luck and keep the content coming, thoroughly enjoy your channel. Regards Jared
HI Nicole, Very cool you are coming up to the northern part of the world to experience Kruger National Park. I just spent 3 nights there, Skakuza and Satara and I was fortunate enough to see the big 5 once and big 3, 3 times which is rare these days as sightings are not as good as they used to be. Over the past 4 years I have spent 400 days in the Kruger and have experienced 90% of it. I am going back to Spend tomorrow night and Sunday before the gate times change if you are in the area it would be awesome to meet up?
What a fantastic informative vlog. Very interesting and full of ideas and stuff to take. What sun protection factor cream would u recommend. My skin is dry and sometimes can get greasy in cold weather. Looking forward to all those super vlogs in the kruger. Take care to both of you and stay safe 🤗🤗
This is very interesting and informative. What kind of luggage do you use? And also how do you pack camera, binoculars, guide books so that they are safe and conveniently at hand in the car while you are on safari?
Thanks Denise - I typically use a soft duffel bag (depends on my duration) but because we drive to a lot of these places & space is limited in the car, we like to have bags that are soft and can pack down. Our cameras travel up in our backpacks in a camera cube, but as soon as we’re in the national parks, we set up a little home for them on the back seat - often on a pillow or towel - so that we can grab them in an instant should we something. Our binoculars are constantly on our laps or on our person, but those usually travel up in their protective cases in our backpacks too :)
Thank you for your awesome video. I have been to Kruger over 40 times in my life. I’ve been living in UK for five years and wish to visit the Kruger in April next year for 9 nights. I can’t take all the braaivlies things, like the braaivlies grid, tongs etc so can these be bought at Skukuza plus a cooler bag?
Goodness me, thank you for pointing that out - one would need to sell your house for that price! I have just updated that link now - I would recommend 10x42 instead of 8x42.
Hmmm, we’ve actually been contemplating a move from Cape Town to Hoedspruit. It would benefit both of our work (and passions), but not a reality for the first half of this year unfortunately :)
As a child we often went there for holidays. As a bachelor I often camped alone there. Glorious times. Then met my wife. We went there for a decade at every chance. Then she fell in love with extreme sports and she got a dog that's like our baby. Long story short, get there very seldom now. Miss it badly. It's in my blood.
Hey Chris :) The national park is seriously the bee’s knees 🐝 It’s just pretty humbling being in a massive wilderness space (it’s about the size of Israel). We’re driving up so that we can have our own wheels & gear up there, but also love a good road trip so enjoy that aspect of it too! It is definitely way more convenient to fly into either Skukuza Airport in the park itself, or one of the surrounding towns.
Hahaha, that’s encouraging to hear Carel - I hope everyone else has the same thoughts because there sure is going to be a lot more Kruger content coming this way soon ☺️
We're so excited about this one 😻
That makes two of us!
the level of detail and production in this video deserves significantly more views!!!

NOTHING better than Kruger, you’re right :) I’m bursting to just get there now…but just arrived in JHB so not too far now!

Welcome back! Malaria precautions, and a mosquito wrist band
Thanks David, we’ve heard that with all of the rains, malaria is quite prevalent this year, so will take precautions for sure!
Looking forward for you trip videos, prepared seriously for that
I'm SO excited to shoot this next Kruger series, I think (and hope) that it's going to be goodie!

Thanks Joe!

Thank you very much :)
Loved this video :) we recently went to the Kruger national park. Such a beautiful escape to be surrounded by nature.
What a special place :) I’m glad that you loved it too!

Neither can we ☺️
The trip from CT is such a long trip - would love to know which route you take.
Would love to go to Kruger to see Casper and his three brothers
This is very interesting and informative.

Kruger is a place of legend from Robin a ex nature guide living now in Numbi park Hazyview it's just super.

Skukuza Parks shop is so kitted, you can pretty much find anything and everything there nowdays so you should be sorted :) Enjoy it!!!
We miss you Nicole!!!!
Please add your link to the weather site you were looking at,looks interesting.
Guys cape town have the best ocean views our country is so beautiful we must go out more to explore our beautiful places
Couldn't agree more!
Surely you guys are the best
Great Shots Nicole! ^_^
Nice informative video, thanks. But is the link to the binoculars for 2.200,- dollars serious...?
Also curious about this.. Do you have a more affordable suggestion?
Goodness me, thank you for pointing that out - one would need to sell your house for that price! I have just updated that link now - I would recommend 10x42 instead of 8x42.
@@NicoleEddy1 thank you!!
@@NicoleEddy1 Thanks so much!!
I am curious. If you had to move from Cape Town what city in South Africa would you move to?
Hmmm, we’ve actually been contemplating a move from Cape Town to Hoedspruit. It would benefit both of our work (and passions), but not a reality for the first half of this year unfortunately :)
@@NicoleEddy1 did you make the move? Also missing you guys on YT!

Is the national park so cool ? And how do you get there are you flying to j-Burg and rent a car there ?

Oh my word, I can’t wait to get to Kruger in a few days time!! #bestplaceonearth
Just a few more hours!
You may go there every time, will stay subscribed 😋

Have to add.... Love that "we are in paradise" 🎵🎶
Wonderful video Nicole, but if I can give some constructive criticism, am upgrade In microphone would be next level. 👍🏻👍🏻
Quality video nicole, do you ever speak Afrikaans? If so would you ever contemplate making a video in it?
Just wondering when you’ll be posting on You Tube again… it’s been a while… 🤔
@nicole "vellies" 😄

Still alive and kicking? 🤔
