I can’t wait to see how quickly the Geum seeds grow. I’ve got a Totally Tangerine Geum and it’s massive. I bought it as a 9cm pot plant about 3 years ago. I really need to get round to dividing it. They are absolutely loved by pollinators and flower all summer if you keep dead heading them.
Oooo, I've seen that one before! I love them, they're proper cottage garden plants and remind me of my nans garden and you're right, the pollinators love them! I'll keep you updated! 😊🌱💚
That's OK, I'm Scottish, so I don't follow St. Paddy day, however, I'm old enough to have had to learn these things in school of by heart, I don't think they do that these days. I enjoy your videos very much, keep up the good work ❤
Well I wish someone had told me! I'm gonna have to mention it in my next video 😂😂 I feel a right fool! Thank you! I'm glad you like them! And always lovely to hear from you in the comments! Take care 😊💚🌱
It's great to get a few things in the soil, I've just sown Radish and Carrots, I want to take a few more cuttings from my Taunton Deane Perennial Kale but its a bit to wet at the moment, If it does stop raining soon I'll grab the opportunity to get that job off the list. See you next week.
I was debating on my carrots today, but next week looks to be a little warmer for me and it was a little cold today! I've always wanted a Taunton Dean but I've never come across a plant before! I'll have to keep an eye out. I know, the rain is getting a little bit much now. But let's get it out the way for a beautiful summer! Take care Graham 💚🌱😊
Jake can’t wait to see the geum flowers in summer .Thank you for telling me were you got the metal from my partner was so impressed it was easy for me to convince him to help me make some, 😂 .Thanks for all the tips you share I’m learning a lot ,Tracy
Hey Tracy 👋🏽 I will keep you updated with the geums! They're lovely flowers for the garden! Ahhh, I'm glad you found them alright. What are you planning on using them for? They done a great repair on the shed and perfect for that raised bed! I'm glad you're enjoying the content! Hope you've had a lovely week and have a lovely weekend. Hopefully we will get some sunshine!! 😊💚🌱
You mentioned sowing potatoes, some people sow on St. Patrick's day but you felt that was too early for you, you will wait until mid march, we'll St. Patrick's Day is 17th March, that pretty mid march don't you think. I nearly planted mine today but a frost last night stopped me so I think I'll wait until Mid March, probably around St. PATRICK'S DAY 😂❤😂
Hahaha! Shows how much I know about St Paddy's Day! I thought it had been and gone and was in February!! God, I must sound like a right nutter!! 😂😅 but thanks for letting me know!! 😅😊🌱💚
Good work. Well done. such a busy time of year. I have been potting up some new garden plants, I received from the nursery today and tying in the new canes of my loganberries. A bit late this year but it won't hurt as I cut the old fruited canes out last year. I have also been tidying and mulching my borders. I will probably go to the allotment tomorrow. I have some frsuit bushes I want to move, new ones to plant and strawberries to plant. Happy gardening 😃 PS. The flowers of globe artichokes are purple, I think you meant Jerusalem artichoke, which are like bright yellow daisies.
Sounds like you've been busy in the garden! Love this time of year and getting odd jobs done around the plot! Ooooo, I have a loganberry but it never does that well. I think I need to water it more often! And yes, you are 100% right on the flower!! They're beautiful flowers and smell like vanilla I find! Hope you're keeping well and lovely to hear from you again 🌱💚😊
@@pots-and-petals I mulch my loganberries in gthe spring with good rotted horse manure. They seem to love it. Make sure to keep them well covered as the birds love them so much
Wow is that all 😂😂 I was tired just listening to the list. Fog looks lovely when the sun is trying to burn through. 7:16 have you thought of putting cardboard on the bed and compost on top so seeds don’t blow in or come up, plus it encourages worm 🪱 action. Everything is coming along nicely Jake and should have a spectacular growing season. Have a great week, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
It's a long old list isn't it! And that just now, in a week or so well have even more to do! I do that on some of my beds, but I don't know if bulbs will push through the garden point at that point. But if it was earlier in the year, it would have worked perfectly! Hope you're having a lovely week Ali! Have you had any more snow?! 😊🌱💚
Gosh Jake I didn't realise you started doing what you do on y tube in 2011, where have I been all of your life. 😂 .Must have missed a lot. Well you want to see my shed, my son makes me laugh, when he comes home at the weekend if he sees the shed in a mess he will say are you going to have a tidy up in your shed. Well I give him an answer but it's not polite. 😂
Oh no, that's just when I opened an account! Only started posting videos 30th April last year! I wish I had started sooner! Hahaha, I have a similar conversation when my grandparents come to visit my allotment 😂 it's tidy for a shed I tell them! Hope you have a lovely week ahead of you Linda 😊🌱💚
Can’t wait to see how the geum does. I love that plant. I’m in the middle of trying to make my house garden more user friendly. The back is on a slope and I’ve struggled with it for years. It feels overwhelming at first but once you make a start it feels better. Glad you ticked a few things off your list. I’m just adding to mine at the minute.
Same here. Its one of my nans favourites, which is kinda why I like it and it feels like a cottage garden plant. It certainly feels better when you can see a plan coming together and a difference from just a couple of hours work. I hope the project comes along well and just take it bit by bit. I think if I looked at my plot as one whole chunk, I'd never do it! It's good to have a list! Keep you busy and outta trouble 😊🌱💚
Great video Jake. Nothing better than sowing time. So getting all these jobs out the way makes things a lot easier.
I know! And it's March tomorrow, so all the seed packets become fair game!!
Bring on Spring!!!
Hope you're keeping well Jo 🌱💚😊

Good quality potting soil can be expensive sadly but it’s the cheapest option for me to grow vegetables 🥗 I eat 😊
That is very true! Just some cheap compost sieved should do the trick! 💚🌱😊
