Hey mate 👋🏽 it certainly is, always a crazy busy time of year, but it's all worth it in the end! I hope you're keeping well mate and had a lovely Easter break! 🌱😊💚
Hey Tracy! And thank you! I never quite know when to stop with planting, I just hate to see soil between plants and want it rambling with all sorts, but I hope you're right! Hope you had a lovely Easter and are enjoying the garden 🌱😊💚
Hey Steve! Thank you and I hope you're right! I just hate bare soil, so I'm hoping everything will start to bulk up and take over a bit! Hope you're keeping well 🌱😊💚
Your flowers are looking beautiful at the moment, can’t wait to see how your new border looks later in the year. I completely sympathise about your cauli success. I planted some along with some pointed cabbages and they all bolted as soon as the weather warmed up. I cheated as well this week and bought some pepper plants as I just don’t have anywhere warm enough for them to germinate. My peas have germinated really well in modules as the slugs and mice get them if I sow outside. They are big enough to plant out but I’m worried they are just going to get flattened by all this wind so am holding off for the moment. Happy growing 🪻🌻🌹
Thank you Nicki 😊 can't wait to see some of the bare soil gone and lots of plants growing in that corner! Ah, I'm glad I'm not the only one! Hopefully someone in the comments can give us some pointers I can talk about in the next video! I've copied you today and I've started some peas in some pots so hopefully the rats or mice won't get to them! Buy you never know with these pesky animals, they're clever little things! Hope you've managed to get out in the garden today! Have a great week Nicki 😊🌱💚🌼
Ooooo, I always thought romanesco would be even more difficult given its beautiful shape! But thanks, I might have to give them a go next year because they are beautiful vegetables! 💚😊🌱
They're really vibrant pink and I'm hoping that they will self seed all over the place! Fingers crossed anyway! Hope you're keeping well and enjoying the garden mate 🌱😊💚
Looking so amazing Jake and can’t wait for summer flowers. I need to sow more carrots 🥕 I did some lettuce today. Have a super weekend hope Kathleen is mellow, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦
Thank you Ali 😊 the spring bulbs are my favourites and we still have the alliums to come! Ahhh, I don't know what is happening this year, but I just can't get them to germinate so I'll try again in the week and hope we get some carrots! I've never had an issue in the past. Hope you're keeping well and enjoying the spring garden when you can! 😊💚🌱
Lovely video Jake. That flower border area is lovely and is going to look gorgeous when everything fills in. What a lovely spot to sit and contemplate over a drink break Some lovely flowers for the garden this year, I’ve been germinating strawflowers too. No problem getting them to germinate but I cannot get them to put on any growth above their first leaves 😭😭
Ah, thank you! It means a lot when I hear such kind words! Makes it even more worthwhile. I can't wait for it to fill out a bit because I hate the bare soil and I'm sure some more plants will find their way into it! Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one! But maybe this year will be our year! Never give up, it's all trial and error in the garden! I hope you've enjoyed the weekend and have a lovely week ahead of you 😊🌱💚
Hi Jake, spring onions are called scallions in Ireland . And I would guess the reason they are called scallions in America and Canada , is because the Irish immigrants brought the name with them many years ago. Your garden looks great. im in the process of making a cottage garden border myself.
OMG you’re the second person I’ve heard today saying they don’t have much luck with the strawflower. I sow these every year (last3years) and I’ve had amazing success with them. I definitely know if I can grow these then so can you as I just a newbie to gardening. Follow Zoe Woodward gardening she’s amazing and I grow everything along with her. Good luck.
3 years gardening! You're no longer a newbie and if your able to grow strawflowers, you're a pro in my eyes!! Hopefully this year will be the year!! Fingers crossed anyway! And I will take a little look at her channel 😊 Hope you've had a lovely weekend out in the garden!! 😊💚🌱
Hahaha! I'm glad that's never happened to me! I'm not too squeamish but half a grub might be a bit too much! I'm just a gardener, get me out of hereeeeeee! 😅😂
Everything looks so good mate! Such an exciting time of year. Let’s hope for some nice weather on the weekends. Have a good week!

In Ireland we call them scallions as well
Ah okay! Learn something new every day! Must be a British thing! 💚😊🌱
Jake, if your having cauli probs, try sowing either a purple headed cauli or a Romanesco variety
Ooooo, I always thought romanesco would be even more difficult given its beautiful shape! But thanks, I might have to give them a go next year because they are beautiful vegetables! 💚😊🌱
love the colour of that lychnis

@@pots-and-petals I am home resting and going back to work in 2 days xx
i’m getting into flower but i still have no clue so i may try following what you do although i don’t plan to have too many 😅
Everything is trial and error Stella! Whack some seeds in and see what grows, that how I've done it! What flowers are you thinking about growing? 🌱😊💚

What's worse than finding a grub in an apple?
Finding half a grub in half an apple!
i call that free protein 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha! I'm glad that's never happened to me! I'm not too squeamish but half a grub might be a bit too much! I'm just a gardener, get me out of hereeeeeee! 😅😂
