I've ordered 7800 xt and was dissapointed with tests in Stalker 2 that people post on YT, as it was one of the reasons I've upgraded but it seems like it won't be able to run at native 2k. Watching this video makes me feel better as I understand that this game is busted as there is no way you need 4080 super to run a game at 2k. 7800 xt actually a pretty decent upgrade over 3060 ti, now I'm sure of it
hey Kryzp, can you maybe start including clips where you stand still in the game? it will more accurately represent the real live image because it wont be affected by youtube compression as much
This game is substantially sub-optimized.... hopefully some patches will clear that up soon. Also, why is Unreal Engine 5 hardly better visually than ID Tech 6 ( which was released in 2016, which is also incredibly well optimized ) . Nobody seems to comment on that fact.
if you see noiseness etc with DLSS Quality on 2k/4k monitor - there 2 options, you rather scecifical looking for this, or you as eagle eyes also if you set 2k resolution on 4k monitor - then it is already faqed, and with DLSS quality in that case - some more negative stuff comming
It seems to me that FG from Nvidia works much worse than from AMD. You had ~75 fps without FG, and became ~95 with FG (25-30% more frames). With FG from AMD I usually get about 70% more fps (from 65 to 110 fps). For me, having 110 fps with FG is not enough. I'm really looking forward to the performance patches. If they add at least 15-20% to FPS, I will be infinitely happy. The original STALKER trilogy is my favorite games btw
This was exactly the situation with Clear Sky. Performance was good with ''sun rays'' turned on generally, but the cleay sky camp, the first base you start the game after the emission, the performance just tanks and is constant stuttering, no matter how beffy you gpu is. I swear they do this intentionally. Ouf of ignorance, greed or just to force you to upgrade.
This is what I've been saying. Graphics are advancing faster than the hardware can keep up and thats partly due to the lack in competition in the GPU market with Nvidia's monopoly at the moment.
where do you see the graphics advancing? maybe density of objects is increasing, and real time ray tracing, but in terms of overall polygons and visuals, they havent been for years. just devs paying less and less effort on optimization and in-house engines and instead developing their game on the latest commercial engines that are made to only run well with the newest hardware by design.
@@ImperialDiecast I mean things like nanite. May not be visually different by much but still is a demanding graphical advancement. I didnt mean visual advancement, just graphically things like nanite are demanding.
can you make a part in the video where you test the gpu with the mods from nexus? I downloaded the top 4 performance mods and now the game runs smooth on my 4060, the only problem is the memory leak (I need to go to menu or restart the game because the game goes to 20 fps), but I think the modders can't fix that without the proper tools
Hi! So i'm super confused right now...from the research i did i understood that if you want better image quality is definitely better to choose dlss quality instead of frame generation, image quality is super important for me so wich one should i enable then?
I have to use FSR 3 on my 6900xt in 1080p to get to 90fps mark in busy areas. In tunnels and buildings it jumps to a stable 140 but that's with FSR 3. The input lag really does make you feel sluggish, half the frames are fake. I dont get how it was allowed to be released like this... I had really high hopes because they delayed the game like 3 times, thought they would've optimized. The implementation of FSR 3 ingame is much better than doing it in software but still, image "artefacts" are still noticeable. I'm playing on 1080p for god's sake...
A UE5 é uma engine inacreditavelmente horrível no quesito de optimizações, Krispy, você pode trazer um vídeo com a 3060TI por favor? e você acha que o modelo OC da galax teria alguma diferença notável no fps? Abraços do Brasil
FSR FG has judder and a much higher input lag than DLSS FG. Even at base 40 fps (FSR FG require at least 60fps), I can barely feel the DLSS FG input lag (in fact, DLSS FG makes aiming easier), while FSR FG makes aiming more difficult and heavy even at 80fps base. In some games FSR FG (for example TLOU remakel also blurs the image during motion. IMO FSR FG is garbage compared to DLSS FG.
@@PabloB888 This is not what I tried, I think that both in terms of latency are equal, for some reason the AMD one gives me more frames, it seems to me that the AMD one is better for this game, surely you have something activated that is increasing your latency , check if you have vsync enabled, or reflex disabled. In other games, fsr fg doesn't feel so good, but in this one, it does
@robinrufino8244 I tried several games with FSR FG support and every single one had noticeable input lag (mouse movement felt heavy) and judder. Yes, FSR FG can generate more frames but it doesnt matter because I refuse to use FSR FH regardless of the framerate on my 170Hz VRR monitor. DLSS FG has no such problems on my PC. Maybe FSR FG works better on AMD cards, but on my RTX4080S I'm only willing to use DLSS FG.
I currently have a 5900x & 3080. Is it worth upgrading to the 9800x3D & 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super? I use 1440p and would prefer a solid stable experience since I know UE5 will be used from now on and oh boy does the optimization blow lol
The 4070 Ti Super would be the best option if you can get it at a good price. This is the cheapest green video card that will remain relevant during the next console generation. But you'll have to rely on DLSS and FSR to get frame rates higher than 60fps (with UE5).
If you can wait until 50-series is released then hopefully the 40-series will drop in price. Probably then is a good time to pick up a 4070Ti-S, or a 4080S. (I'd personally go for the latter at the minimum since I don't like small single generation upgrades)
With 7950X, 4080, 64gb ram and the game runs on M.2SSD 4k DLSS On and set to quality Motion blur and depth of field off. Everything is on epic. FPS 72low 95 high.
I'm going to be honest here... I'm afraid. I have a 4080 Super with an AMD 7300XD. The screen that i have is from 2006. It is 1440x900 and yet some games run at 100 fps (max settings) like Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil 4 Remake and others... I was planning to get a 4K, 160hz monitor (in my country anything above that always goes by more than 2K dollars) and i don't know if it will run well... (And yes, just in case it isn't obvious, i'm extremely new to PC gaming).
I don't get how he's getting such a good framerate in Zalissya when I'm also on a 4080 Super and only getting upper 30s-mid 40s there and I'm on medium settings with DLSS performance on. Edit: Should've added this is 4k resolution, and also if I turn it down to 1440p there's really not much of a difference in frame rate.
There are games that can dip below 60fps even at 1080p (Alan Wake 2, or Portal RTX with PT), but that doesnt mean the RTX4080 is 720p card. According to techpowerup review the RTX4080S has 95fps average at 4K native based on 25 games tested, so it's very capable 4K card (95fps is higher than RTX4060 at 1080p 85fps). My 4080S is OC'ed and I get over 100fps at 4K native in the majority of my games. The most demanding games (raytracing games or UE5 games that use dynamic GI / software RT) will run at around 45fps and require the help of the AI (DLSS + FG) to run at perfectly smooth fps, but it does not matter because this AI technology works so well.
@@PabloB888 Yes, it's not as good as the 4090, but considering the current price of the 4090 and the future price of the 5090 and the poor performance of the 5080, I'm still convinced that the 4080 is a good alternative.
You need to turn back on all the cores of the 7950x3d chip to get a better experience in this game. My cpu usage goes as high as 67% when playing stalker with a 4080 super and the frame rate is acceptable in this kind of game.
We need more amd videos on this, especially the mid range one since this title utilizes lumen and nanite. Myb 7800xt and 7700xt would be good to test in 1440p?
I am currently on 7800xt with 5700x3d and I am not sure if buyimg the game would be justified since he already said that people were reporting that it drops into 30s w 5800x3d
I am not convinced its CPU bottlenecked, you will find not a single thread is maxed on that 7800X3D. While the game is clearly CPU heavy (as seen on lower CPU's), I believe there may be an upper game engine limitation hit by the 7800X3D.
I've a 4080 non super, at 4K with dlss quality, i use lossless scaling on x3 mode, and get around 180 fps Locked, latency is somewhat more good than Dlss fg in this game, and i use the igpu of my i9 13900k for lossless scaling fg processing so it doesn't drop my fps after enabling fg
what is your honest opinion of the game? Performance aside. I have access to it on PC gamepass and im on the fence about giving it a try. I didn't play the first one.
He's not conversant enough to answer you properly. He didn't even know that once the gun starts jamming it will only get worse until you've fixed it (stalker is very strange like this, seems they think guns are made of sugar or something). There's lots of reviews. I personally loved stalker call of pripyat a lot. But it was way more playable with mods (more real-world weapons, ammo types, better quests, better weather, weapon degradation much slower, etc).
I like that power draw, only around 260w max, less with dlss. On a huge 4080s cooler, must be silent. Usually 4070tiS draws more, even 3070ti. Doesn't seem like the game is taking advantage of the full gpu even with close to 100% usage.
Strange thing is the game is running significantly higher fps with the same "4K Epic" settings on my system. Around 70-80fps outside. RTX 4080 and AMD 5950X. The bad thing is there is a very nasty stealth monster killing me every time I get the first artifact... maybe I should restart? LOL
one of the biggest problems of this game is how FPS feel. With my 4090, epic settings and only DLSS quality ON I have 80 - 90 FPS in the same location as in the video but it feels like 30. I dont know what that is but only with FG enabled the FPS feel smooth.
but with FG its awkward to aim.. either i have to turn on easy mod for battles or i have to struggle with aiming while im capable of shooting way better than i really do.
very strange that i feel the same way. without fg it says 40+ fps. Even turning on\off vertical sync, and NVdiai reflex does not help. it feels really 24 fps as when i turn camera fast i just cant really understand whats is happing around.
@@AlexanderAgB this game just performs like utter garbage. HATE it really! I was so excited for STALKER 2 since I am a big fan of the previous games. Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K with DLSS and FG + Pathtracing was NUTS! So good! But STALKER 2 is just trash performing hot garbage. I have one, and its fine running this game if you turn on DLSS.. You'll get around 80 fps on High settings with DLSS Quality. Im playing this on an ultrawide so im using those settings plus Frame Gen and the game is somewhat playable.
@@Grandmaster_Vic i want to know the performance on 1440p with ray tracing dlss and fg also I've heard the game is on rough shape now for which there should be updates which will fix the game like ck projekt did with cyberpunk
@@Mr_snappy. yea it is In rough shape. I would wait about 6 months for the patches to come in and fix the optimization and bugs. But I the performance I mentioned was on 1440p. Then again this game is also CPU heavy so you might have to take that to account. I’m currently playing this with a 5800x3d and the game does stutter often, so keep that in mind. There are videos of people benchmarking with a 4070 super with different CPUs so I would check those out
@@Grandmaster_Vic I have a ryzen 7 7700 and i think this chip will be a good combo with thr 4070 super. I also agree with you after 6 months the game should be fine not to mention the game will be on discount by the time comes.
Apart from the technical limitations, how's the game in general? I really loved metro exodus is it sth like that? Or better than that?
@ it’s pretty good, it’s definitely a game where you want to take your time but also be on point. It is not a game where you can turn your brain off as it is challenging to play (of course part of it is getting through the game’s bugs and issues) but once you accept and immerse yourself on the unforgiving open world then it is a great time. I’m so far enjoying the game despite me dying a bunch of times. I recommend trying it on PC game pass to see if it is worth the purchase for you.
8:50 Valve is still alive, after all of these years! Me: oh yes, looks like we will be able to actually play half life 3 in 2026 or 2025.

if you see noiseness etc with DLSS Quality on 2k/4k monitor - there 2 options, you rather scecifical looking for this, or you as eagle eyes
also if you set 2k resolution on 4k monitor - then it is already faqed, and with DLSS quality in that case - some more negative stuff comming
Why do you rarely test the high preset? I am tired of only epic testing.
@@klvvv dlss is bugged. I can gain an extra 60w on my 4070ti just use tsr ultra quality and not dlss
Try to reach Rostok base. There CPU bottleneck feels even more than in Zalissya.
For fucks sake are you serious? I haven't reached there yet.
This is what I've been saying. Graphics are advancing faster than the hardware can keep up and thats partly due to the lack in competition in the GPU market with Nvidia's monopoly at the moment.
where do you see the graphics advancing? maybe density of objects is increasing, and real time ray tracing, but in terms of overall polygons and visuals, they havent been for years. just devs paying less and less effort on optimization and in-house engines and instead developing their game on the latest commercial engines that are made to only run well with the newest hardware by design.
you have no clue about hardware do you?
@@ImperialDiecast I mean things like nanite. May not be visually different by much but still is a demanding graphical advancement. I didnt mean visual advancement, just graphically things like nanite are demanding.
@@mna.authorI dont want nanitee lumen, software ray tracing, whatever it is to be forced, this make my gpu age like milk despite dlss support
@mrbobgamingmemes9558 Neither do but here we are with the industry forcing these setfings as standards when all gpus struggle to keep up
can you make a part in the video where you test the gpu with the mods from nexus?
Oof... What Cpu are you running? I have a 6950xt with 5800x3d, 32gb 3600mhz cl16 ram. Curious because the 6900xt is close to the 6950.
A UE5 é uma engine inacreditavelmente horrível no quesito de optimizações, Krispy, você pode trazer um vídeo com a 3060TI por favor? e você acha que o modelo OC da galax teria alguma diferença notável no fps? Abraços do Brasil
Optimization is the least of the issue in this game, and we know optimization isn't the priority for the developer and I doubt it will ever be
Such a dope channel. Thank you for doing 4080 super videos!
I've been testing fsr 3 frame gen and it seems to do a better job with frametime, and the latency if you have 60fps+ is very low.
@PabloB888 i have a 4060, maybe have more tensor core help with the latency
I currently have a 5900x & 3080. Is it worth upgrading to the 9800x3D & 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super? I use 1440p and would prefer a solid stable experience since I know UE5 will be used from now on and oh boy does the optimization blow lol
you can't get a 9800X3D if you wanted to, stock shortage, as for the GPU, maybe wait and get a 4090, 4080s will be short lived with its 16Gb of vram
@ Sounds good thank you!
there is no point in this. the increase will be very minimal

Damn at 130-160 fps same settings on a 14900k/4080 lmao nice tune.
Graphic is mind blowing
Can you do the 3070 with a 5600x? That's my setup.
The first patch will come this week, but the only optimization will be with memory leak.😭

But could be better.
Anyway lets wait a little for patches.
4080 Super is now a 1440p card.
If you want to 144 fps...
But Im satisfy 90~100 fps in 4K
@@DarkMoon-GS ? 1:43 the 4080 gets 44fps in 4K Epic.
@@d4nith3 There is no game that can be played smoothly without DLSS these days. Even 4090 is hard to do it.
@@PabloB888 Yes, it's not as good as the 4090, but considering the current price of the 4090 and the future price of the 5090 and the poor performance of the 5080, I'm still convinced that the 4080 is a good alternative.

what is your honest opinion of the game?
