I went to my first Neil Young concert when I was 16 and now I'm 65, but rock and roll will never die. His music will be with me until my final breath. ❤
Jill, I saw Neil who was my favorite for the first time when I was 16(with CS&N) and now I am 65 too and I am going tomorrow to see him again and my house # is 8711 - are there enough similarities there?
I first saw him with Stephen Stills in 1976,the Long May You Run tour. That began a string of shows over the years. My wife and I cut a beach vacation short to come home for a Neil show. We have tickets for Austin Tx in September…
I love that Neil is playing all his old stuff. It's what we all fell in love with long ago and want to still be able to hear today by the master who created it❤
You are so right. I have loved Neil Young & every band he played with since 1970. Since then he alone put out a bunch of albums. Then he & CH put out several. So much to pick from BUT he definitely picked his fans favorites on this tour. I am so grateful he is touring on the east coast. Seeing him was on my bucket list & we are going in 2 days!!!
Our time on earth is limited I am lucky I will be able to take my teenage son to see Neil as I saw him as a young man . God Bless Neil and his gift of music to us
Amazing. Last show i saw Mr. Young i begged for Cortez. Lady next to me wanted Cinnamon Girl. We got both for the encore! I lost it. And he starts it off with them damn!! 😊
This guy is 78, still rocking in the free world (such that it is) I’m 71, been blown away by this hurricane since I was 17… take care Neil and like rock and roll, never die ❤️🇷🇴
well said. People get too wrapped up in "what is Neil going to say" regarding politics. The point is the man is genuinely sincere about his music and how he feels about people. It's no wonder all the grunge guys were enamored with him back in the 90's. And he didn't touch politics.
What a superb show I was lucky enough to attend, especially by starting with 'Cortez the Killer' and mixing in 'Powderfinger' and 'Heart of Gold' - my 3 all-time favorite NY songs! Crazy Horse & Neil still rock!!
Yes, thanks. I'm seeing Neil's band in Chicago on May 23. I've seen them many times in the 80's thru today. I had to cheat and get a preview. It was nice.
@Nitemare.60 No, not yet, but thanks for your thoughts! I'd imagine that touring is difficult for artists at that age; so if there's no rescheduling, we're still happy. Hey, if you are around Chicago in mid-October, get a nice chair and watch the Chicago Marathon. It's really something. We like just watching on Michigan Avenue about 3 miles from the finish. You'll meet people and watch runners from all over this World. T.C.
@@jeffryhammel3035 I'm down in the southeast corner of Alabama. Never been to Chicago. I was asking about Neil because I had read that they postponed your concert and were supposed to go back to Texas after Chicago to do Austin & Dallas which were postponed due to bad weather. The article that I read said it was due to illness. I'm just wondering who. I've not seen a thing on that since. I'm just concerned what happened. The marathon sounds like some fun tho.
Cortez more than other song in Rock & Roll transports the Listener to a time & place where unimaginable acts took place . " We still don't understand today " . This song really is the Killer . Sheer Beauty & Total Savagery .
I whole heartedly a agree. For me, Neil's music and his lyrics are very transformative. When I listen to this music, I can simply close my eyes and I am transported to another time and another place. Very few songwriters/musicians have mastered this ability to project such powerful mental imagery during live performances. Especially when you listen with an open mind. Cortez and Powderfinger epitomize this perfectly. I like to call these 'time-travel songs'. Thanks 👍 to everyone who helped bring this concert to TH-cam!!!
It's so cool Neil is staying active, will keep him young! Back in early 80's saw Neil live @ University of Utah special events center!, he is the best!, it was a phenomenal concert indeed, my date & I were beaming with joy for days!, keep going Neil u can do it bro!!!
