This video was actually the first video I ever watched that inspired me to start crocheting. It was very hard for me because of the incorrect terminology in the video, but I still remember this video when I think about how I got into crocheting and how I now love to crochet for the past 4 years❤️🥰 I’ve always admired your work and think they’re adorable, keep up the good work!
here's my attempt at putting it into a written pattern with crochet terminology (ive only been crocheting for a few months sorry): st, stitch sc, single crochet ch, chain inc, increase, 2 sc in one stitch dec, decrease, stitch 2st together *although i think you can also skip stitches, but idk how to do that properly* rice body: 1: make a slip knot and ch7 2: starting from 2nd st from the hook, sc6, ch1 3: start working around in an oval shape: inc 1 into the middle of the two stitches--as in the video, inc1, sc5, inc2, sc4. total: 17st 4: inc2, sc6, inc3, sc6 total: 22st 5: inc3, sc8, inc3, sc8 total: 28st 6: inc4, sc10, inc4, sc10 total: 36st 7-8: sc36 (2 rows) *when i made this i made 4 rows i just think it looked better* (by the time it came to decreasing i was kind of just improvising, since i'm unfamiliar with making oval shapes) 9: [sc4, dec1]x6 total: 30st 10: [sc3, dec1]x6 total: 24st 11: dec3, sc6, dec3, sc6 total: 18 12: dec3, sc3, dec3, sc3 total: 12 13: dec3, sc2, dec3, sc2 total: 6 sew closed let me know if i should change anything :)
Thank you for this!! I was trying to follow the video but I was getting confused. I’m going to start again using your written pattern, I’ll let you know how it goes!
Thank you for writing this out. Her wording is very hard to understand and she doesn't really give you a pattern just tells you to go in circles making an oval randomly increasing on ends lol. I had to stop watching .. then I saw your comment so thank you!!
I have been crocheting for long time now and never have I heard the single crochet be referred to as knots but I think that is a semi easier way of saying it X3 , love the tutorial
"about 7 times", "about 4 rows", "several loops", "knots"... nice idea but that kind of instructions don't work for me , the pattern needs to be precise in order to have a specific size and number of stitches for those of us who just started making amigurumis, not my first time doing crochet tho, but it'd be really helpful if you used the standard terminology and a specific number of stitches and rows.
I can understand what you mean. When I heard it, I just assumed she meant "do this 7 times" or "do this 4 rows." But I think I only assumed this because where I live it's very common to say about when it's not needed.
im a beginner at crochet and I finally built up courge to do it, so my first project was a mug cozy it came out big but im glad it worked out great. I hope when I make this sushi project can give me a depure understanding of crocheting techniques. I love how she takes time and put the crocheting into better steps than other videos do ♥♥♥
This would be a good tutorial if you used the correct terminology. I will find another video because of this even though these are very cute it is very hard to follow along when you say make a knot instead of single crochet.
I have tried crocheting MANY times in my life. My mother crochets and has tried teaching me several times and I've tried on my own. I still want to continue trying so I can actually become good at it, but it's always been a struggle for me. I'm not sure why, but it's one of the few mediums of art I am unable to master. Watching your videos makes me want to try again though. I absolutely love these little sushi plushies. They're adorable and as difficult as it is for me to do, they look actually pretty simple to make. Of course, that may also just be because you're so experienced that it looks easy...lol. Btw, I'm a new subscriber. The Lucky Cat video from the baby socks is what got me...lol.
Hey, it might be that your just not ment to crochet. The first day i got it right away my sister didn't. She has always struggled. So maybe you and crocheting are not ment to be
I'm not sure about that. I just try over and over again, but after so long I just give up. I've just never had the persistence to keep at it. It's been at least a decade in a half since I tried last. Maybe as an adult, I'll be more willing to stick with it...lol.
Some people are just born to do certain things. You have the knack for it. I have a knack for many things...Crocheting isn't one of them, but that doesn't mean I can't obtain a knack for it. Just need some time to sit down and do it. Might try again, when I actually have time to do something again... ^_^ Also, it's freaking awesome that you're so young and can do this so well. Love your work... ^_^
Wow been trying to learn to crochet the last hour or so. Using simple tutorials just like making a square and couldn't get it. Decided to watch this cuz it looked cute and suddenly I got it haha. Very good and clear explanation. Also I think this way of holding it is the best for me
These are so cute, and you explained it so well even I could follow as a beginner. This actually explains how to make a chain and a general oval shape in terms beginners can more or less follow. I ordered needles earlier today so when they get here I'll try to make these cuties. Thanks a bunch!
love this! My great grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a kid.... almost 30 years ago! This video really helped me to get back to that fun hobby
Your sushi are adorable! I was a little confused by the terms you used but I understand why, you tried to explain things in layman's terms so that people who aren't familiar with crochet terms can do this tutorial also. So I get it. Thank you for the tutorial!
She has mentioned before that she learned from her mom and she doesn't really know the terminology. Regardless her work is super cute and I love this channel.🤗
It's a hook, not a needle...and why do you call them knots instead of the actual stitch names? Other than that, this is super cute! Thanks for sharing the pattern!
everyone just needs to stop complaining about her saying knots instead of single crochet. You obviously understand her if you are pointing it out. If you dont like the tutorial, find another, or just deal with her wording and what works for her. You are still getting the pattern for free, adjust. thanks for the pattern. it's lovely.
Lol I tried following the steps, but by the time I got halfway done with the rice ball it looks like a Chinese straw hat instead of the bowl shape shown. Oh well, at least attempts were made. lol Having a pattern of this would be such a great help! :)
I made the egg one and it came out great! I started learning how to crochet through youtube about a month ago because I saw all the cute things you were making >u
I'm looking up crochet projects I can use as Xmas presents. This totally wasn't one of them but I had to watch it. The adorable drew me in. So. Very. Cute. I must have woolly sushi in my life.
i'm so glad my mother taught me the basics of crochetting: i'll be able to create this adorable cuties without getting mad (i hope). Thanks for sharing your super cute tutorials from Italy
This is just adorable! Thanks for taking the time to film this video, don't worry! It must've been hard to explain as it's more of a "if you get it then you can race ahead" hobby. When I crochet, my piece always starts to curl up, more quickly than it should do. Perhaps you could make a video dedicated to it, it's stopping me from my pieces going correctly!
So cute! Love these patterns. Love how beginner friendly this vid is, but it would also be helpful for beginners to use common language (single crochet instead of "crochet knot", that way people could look up how to do certain stitches if they are confused. So excited to make these! :)
I have no idea how its possible but this is too simple for me to understand?? XD I'm used to all the crochet terms and what not... maybe I'm just a little slow. XD but the sushi is adorable.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEAAAASSSEEEE do a gudetama amigurumi tutorial and a Pom Pom Purin tutorial that would mean the WORLD to me ❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE YOU FLYINGMIO!
You are so amazing at this I will never be able to do it like you and you are my favorite youtuber, even though I won't be able to do somthing like this I always try and you are so amazing and awesome so keep doing what your doing because your perfect at it and your perfect😍😘😘💓💓❤️
Would this technique of making the oval still work if wanted to make this into a body pillow or should I do a 'magic circle' method instead :? Also, if I did a body pillow would you think using a thicker yarn size would be appropriate :?
wow, you make it sooo easy! I tried crocheting and I couldn't get it right. lol. but i'll definitely keep trying! xD maybe because I'm using a rainbow loom hook and not a crochet hook. btw, I love your videos! >.
Eventhough some people are complaining that you're not using the correct terminology for crocheting, your tutorials are the only ones that I was able to understand (I'm just lazy to learn about proper terminology). Btw irrelevant to the project, I was oddly satisfied that you're holding the chopsticks the right way...
+anothersujufan unfortunately you'll regret that laziness later,i promise lol.it's essential to learn the correct terminology, otherwise reading patterns will be as if they're in a foreign language.
Great video, I tried making this and I put worked really well (mine was smaller though) it was so much fun and quite easy to make. I'm definitely going to do crochet again!
I subscribed within the first 5 seconds of this video. How have I never heard of your channel??? I need to learn to crochet so hopefully your vids will help! Thanks for this awesome tutorial

st, stitch

1: make a slip knot and ch7

4: inc2, sc6, inc3, sc6 total: 22st
5: inc3, sc8, inc3, sc8 total: 28st
6: inc4, sc10, inc4, sc10 total: 36st
7-8: sc36 (2 rows) *when i made this i made 4 rows i just think it looked better*
(by the time it came to decreasing i was kind of just improvising, since i'm unfamiliar with making oval shapes)

10: [sc3, dec1]x6 total: 24st
11: dec3, sc6, dec3, sc6 total: 18
12: dec3, sc3, dec3, sc3 total: 12
13: dec3, sc2, dec3, sc2 total: 6

let me know if i should change anything :)
Thank you for this!! I was trying to follow the video but I was getting confused. I’m going to start again using your written pattern, I’ll let you know how it goes!
is inc 2 means 3 sc in one stich or increase 2 stich so it would be 4 stich?
Thank you for writing this out. Her wording is very hard to understand and she doesn't really give you a pattern just tells you to go in circles making an oval randomly increasing on ends lol. I had to stop watching .. then I saw your comment so thank you!!

thats what i was about to say
Y’all have to be abit familiar with crochet first 😢 I know I’m here in 2024 🤣

Hi Flying Mio! We love this crochet sushi tutorial, super cute! Happy making, from Wool and the Gang :)

Please do more cute crocheting videos, the cuteness is overload and I would like to make some too, btw you are really amazing
Omggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg I made this for my moms birthday and she loved them. Awesome video!!!!!!
+Joya Christine i've been crocheting for a looooong time and i say crocheting needle >_>.tomato/tomahto lol.
I was super confused when she called them knots!
I'm like knots wtf. If you don't know terms don't put up a tutorial lol. If your new to crochet leave video now.
Casey Corriveau I knitted before I crocheted and I call it a hook.
Because it's a hook.
Guys it’s because she learned to crochet from her mom and that is exactly how her mom taught her.
I came to school 7 hours early to study for my final exam today. but all I've been doing is watching these videos.. I NEED TO STOP BUT THEY'RE SO CUTE
everyone just needs to stop complaining about her saying knots instead of single crochet. You obviously understand her if you are pointing it out. Eventhough some people are complaining that you're not using the correct terminology for crocheting, your tutorials are the only ones that I was able to understand (I'm just lazy to learn about proper terminology). +anothersujufan unfortunately you'll regret that laziness later,i promise lol.it's essential to learn the correct terminology, otherwise reading patterns will be as if they're in a foreign language.
Thanks for the reminder! Actually since I commented I have learnt much more about crochet so now I know most of the basic terminologies

They won't unless you're a really good beginner. She uses the wrong termenology and doesn't explain herself well. She also goes way too fast. She's very talented and nice but her description needs work.
Emily Pyles I agree
