- All disclaimers aside, similar to victoria 3 communism, victoria 3 fascism is also possible! Today, we use victoria 3 italy where we form italy and turn it into a fascist state, seeing as it was the first modern fascist state. I formed the SOVIET UNION in VICTORIA 3 was an equal video in concept so consider this a victoria 3 guide on how to pass the necessary laws and victoria 3 formable nations.

this wasn't actual fascism in the game, this was just a dictatorship. you can do actual fascism once you have political agitation and then very late in the game the leader of one of the interest groups (anything but the trade unions, as they always go communist) gets the "fascist" trait which unlocks the fascist political party. if that group gets elected while the leader has the trait, then the nation gets a different flag and is actually called a "fascist dictatorship" once the autocracy law is passed.
I find the trade unions thing ironic, because Fascism is quite literally radical socialism like communism wherein the fascio (unions in Italian) Take over and build their state from the ground up (starting with the people, whereas governments of the past i.e. democracies are built from the top down) very basic explanation and I know its a game but I think they've done Fascism poorly. Also, National Socialism and Fascism are 2 distinct ideologies, look into it.
@@oldylad Fascism is not radical socialism, socialism believes in class struggle whilst fascism does away with those divisions and prioritizes the state above all.
German National Socialism and Italian Fascism was birth from nationalist workers unions and nationalist socialist tendencies.
Nazism was born in the Pan-German-nationalist manual laborer trade unions in Austria, while Italian Fascism came from heterodox revolutionary syndicalist theory.

While Stalin I'd argue was a fascist who coopted the bolsheviks, and made a cult of personality around himself
Also communism although derived from socialism, is also separate from socialism, communism believes in not having a state, while socialism doesn't inherently believe in not having a state
So fascism is not socialism, their quite the opposites of eachother

The word principality comes from the Latin word princeps, meaning important person/emperor/king therefore a principality can be referred to on the same same rank as these. At the beginning I was making this up but I realized it's actually true after googling it.

It's not really fascism, it's a military dictatorship with the flag of the Kingdom of Italy from 1805 to 1814, no clue why PDX decided to use that flag
I'm not sure if you would call it fascism exactly, but it's just the closest V3 lets you get, you can be an oligarchy, an autocracy, a monarchy, but fascist governments tend to be more like dictatorships, the leader is more like a president except obviously it isn't democratic

i’ve been thinking about who you remind me off, looks wise, and I finally found it out. You look like Adam Irigoyen from Shake It Up. He played Martin
Interestingly enough, Italian Fascism had a different concept of ethnicity leading to a different concept of what it meant to have an ethnostate- it was meant to be centered around a sort of national identity/culturalism rather than race. Though they had grand imperialist ambitions towards Africa and Middle East, it was along the lines of the Roman empire and, the plan was to assimilate them into Italian citizens.
It was the Nazis that went with the more contemporary definition of ethnicity as being tied to (a false concept of) race.
To be honest, while Vic3 does have a Fascist party it doesn't really have any distinctly Fascist policies. For instance, Fascist economic policy was corporatism- which can be thought of as an attempt to balance the interests of businesses/capitalists with the workers through class collaborationism as opposed to the attempt to 'win' the class war on the side of the proletariat that communists recommend.
Also a properly Fascist government would theoretically represent _all_ interest groups. That's actually the whole point of the single-party system- in Fascism at least.
Now whether or not these policies actually accomplish what they set out too is a matter of debate, but then again so are the Communist policies in the game like the Worker's council. I'm actually a bit upset they set up the entire game to work based on Marxist theory yet offers only limited 'solutions' as it were.
Actual fascism was pretty much the opposite of what most people associate with fascism. Fascism is 'inclusive nationalism', the entire point was overcoming differences like class, race, religion etc, to unite your people behind their common nationality. A socialist experiment where 'international class struggle' was replaced by 'national class cooperation'. A socialist evolution where the state merely needs to control everything and use the elites for the benefit of all instead of a revolution where the state owns everything and kills off the elites, leaving behind an economic ruin when it's done.
@@BamBamGT1 I'd like to point out that 'the state owns everything and kills off the elites' is very much endemic of vanguardist communism and not all forms of communism. Just like how the fanatic racism was Nazism-exclusive while other forms of Fascism shun racism- for a kind of cultural chuavenism more reminiscent of the ancient Han and ancient Romans.
As for calling Fascism 'socialist', I would definitely argue against that. Just as most people mix up nationalism and jingoism, they also tend to mix up socialism with everything non-capitalist.
Corporatism isn't social ownership, and I don't see Fascism as arguing _for_ social ownership. The idea of social ownership is, after all, the result of attempting to eliminate the bourgeoise as a class entirely.
That's not to say that Fascism doesn't have it's roots in socialism- which it totally does no matter what the leftists say about it. It's just not actually socialist, no matter what the rightoids say about it either. In line with the Fascist school of thought, Fascism is beyond socialism or capitalism in the same way it is beyond left and right.

Because of the way the game works forming Italy as Sardinia-Piedmont is a lot harder than doing it as Two Sicilies. You can actually form Italy without fighting a single war in about a decade, provided you start as Two Sicilies.

Video Idea You should do a run where you put Napoleon III in Power. he appears in in the 1840’s. as the leader of either the Petite Bourgeoisie , Land owners or the Armed Forces. you get the old Napoleonic Flag when he leads a Presidential dictatorship. you can't make him a emperor sadly because the game just goes back to the Bourbons.
Hey Laith, even if a revolution begins to fire, unless the radicalisation hits 100 you aren't in any real danger. As Japan, I've had it get as high as 99 but not fire - just need to keep a close eye on it until its enacted, and maybe start enacting a repeal but cancel it partway through to keep them from spazzing out. :)

Hey Laith, not sure if you know this but a revolution will only occur if the radicalism of the opposition parties is above 100. When you canceled Presidential Republic the first time, their radicalisation was only 78, so even if it was growing fast it would have capped off before the revolution point.
Speaking of unique casus bellie. I don`t think Laith has played Ethiopia. The Ethiopian nations there get a unique "unify" casus belli. Also it is quite and interesting challenge and you get a decent nation out of it.

hey, does anyone know why laith has the debug mode mod enabled? he said in the qing video its for making thumbnails but now its through the whole video, not just the beginning, and part of me thinks its a bit suspicious that he has the debug mode enabled for all of it. not implicating him yet, but i just want to verify that there's any good reason, other than just laziness from making the thumbnail, to keep debug mode on all the time
I’ve explained it in other videos, but I’ll say it here again:
Vic 3 has a tendency to break at times and this is an easy way to fix it (look at my Texas video for an example of this). I can’t be bothered to reload the game in debug, fix it, then go to normal mode (which sometimes breaks itself) - much easier for me to fix it on the fly.
Essentially, I’m here to enjoy myself and produce entertainment - not really fussed if people care or not if I had the debug menu there or anything like that. It makes my life easier and so that’s the main reason.
@@TheSocialStreamers I figured there was probably a decent reason, since the button was obvious, but I just didn't know what (part of the reason may be that i just havent played vic3 yet)
Quality and better tactics are both together often better than the quantity of the army alone. I know this since for instance Sweden won many battles against Russia, denmark, poland-lithuanian comonwealth and others while being heavily outnumbered throughout history.

That's not a fascist government though... That's just a military dictatorship, which is basically the unaligned autocratic republic government type. You need a Fascist Party to rise up in your government and have them take charge while being a republic, then you switch to autocracy after getting the fascist leader voted in.
I find it funy that you can get the skull measurements thing as southern Italy as the whole concept that would developed into modern racism was in order to prove that the southern Italians (sicilians in particular) were inferior to northern Italians and that their inferiority was why they were less developed and overall poorer (not poor geography and the fact that the southern half of the island has seen more occupation and exploitation than some parts of Africa). History and political stuff aside it's amusing.
