What a route! I remember that you mentioned how you rode that on your Domane ... very impressive! I take my hat off to anyone who completes that ride. I know, JB rocked it at Unbound .. 8th place .... with 2 punctures. What a legend!
The paved downhill into Franklin after the fultz gap cattle guard is brutal with rim brakes especially when you are cracked after the climb. I never thought i’d say that about a downhill. Then Mole Hill sucks the remaining life out of you after the fultz gap and darkside climbs. What a day! I need to train up to do it again. Kudos to you for completing the ride and hanging onto JB’s wheel for a lot of it.
Thanks! It certainly was good training for the Loudoun 1725 GG. That video will be ready next week, I think you'll recognize a few of the riders in the shots 😉
I love your handlebars and mine are stupid wide (they came on the gravel bike I could afford at the time. Can you tell me about them? Thanks, also.. great video
Yeah I really like my bars. They’ve done a great job so far. I did a full review of them, so be sure to check out all the details here: mountain-road.com/blog/surly-truck-stop-bar
Gravel M 700x40 will absolutely work, but I think you can get away with even less. During the pre-event scouting ride with Jeremiah I had Gravel M 700x35C tires on the bike, but for the actual event (th-cam.com/video/ek0HaEcA2PM/w-d-xo.html) I decided to run Maxxis ReFuse 700x32C tires. They did a great job on the day. The route contains mostly paved roads, and you basically just need some extra puncture protection on the gravel sections (+-10%) of the course.
Everyone who can finish this route is a hero.
Awesome it’s amazing how the body can push and accomplish those climbs. Great enjoyment thanks
I completed the Alpine Loop in 2014. Jeremiah is the man. Unreal performance at Unbound btw. Love the video. So cool.

Riding and hanging out with Jerimiah Bishop... what a special day. So awesome... and that route is serious stuff (and fun). Nice.
That was a great experience indeed. He is such a powerful and skilled rider. Thanks for following along!
Impressive! Hard work!
Awesome cycling!!! Keep on.....
Jeremiah is such a great guy
Definitely! We’re very fortunate to have such a passionate and skillful rider as part of the community.
I bet you had your legs all up at your house after this ride 😆. Jeremiah is such a strong rider and good story teller. Great ride.
Oh for sure! I was exhausted after this one! 😄 Thanks for watching!
Great camera work! (And leg work, too!)

This was an excellent video! Love it my man
Great video. Which handlebar are you using in this video?
Thanks! It’s the Surly Truck Stop bar. You can check out my full review of the bar here: th-cam.com/video/FjKuclao1rM/w-d-xo.html
What tires do you recommend for this ride? Would the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel M tyre 700x40 suffice?

Which tires were Jeremiah running?
I think it was the IRC Boken Plus in either 32mm or 38mm.
