For my *Straight Hair Naturals* - Do you ever struggle with consistency? How do you manage when you skip a flat iron? *PLEASE* comment down below your regimen or how you style when it is not straight?? 🫶
I usually find my hair to be very dry, tangled and breaks whenever I leave it in its natural state. Sometimes even when I leave it blow dried for a couple of days, it tries to revert and then I’m left with dry tangled mess. If I don’t straighten it, then I do two cornrows like you did and then leave it for a 3-4 days.
@@wekaylove Same! My blow dry has to be “put up” or it will tangle. I can only rock my braid out for one day bc if I let it go past 2 days it might as well have been a wash and go 🥴. But I’m also still working on getting my ends healthy from my color damage. It’s still there though not as bad ♥️. Do you build in “off days” into your regimen or are they like me and just kind of happen?
So I’ve recently cut my hair into a bob so it doesn’t take me as long to do my hair. But when my hair was longer, and I didn’t feel like flat ironing it, I would just wear it in a loose bun with a silk bun maker. I may throw a crown braid in the front and call it a day. I would take my hair down every night and brush it, then sleep with 2 loose French braids. In the morning I’d take out the braids, comb my hair and put back in a bun again the next day. I’d repeat until next wash day, which would be a week and half later max. Brushing your hair daily helps with sebum distribution and keeps the hair soft and moisturized. I never need to add any additional product whether I leave it blow dried or flat iron it.
Yes!! I enjoy feeling the bristles on my scalp. And oddly, I brush my hair more as a straight hair natural, but I have less shedding and less breakage. Right now my biggest thing is being consistent with wash days 🥴. How are you enjoying the bob life? That is on my bucket list of hairstyles. It sounds like you have this straight hair natural thing down, I love it! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 🙏🙏♥
@ yes, brushes and combs do not cause breakage like we were led to believe lol I had so much damage and breakage wearing my hair in its natural state. It took me about a year and a half to grow out the damage and trim/cut my hair little by little. I finally cut all of it off last month so I’m finally on my length retention journey. I love this length, but my goal is to get to your length!! I enjoy watching your videos 😊
@ Same! My hair was unhealthy and I’m still bouncing back and cutting off the damage. I want to go see a beautician but I’m lowkey afraid of what I might walk away with. Lbvs*. I’m sure your hair will grow stronger, healthier and longer! It sounds like you are on your A game. I’ve learned that consistency is key. I hope you reach all your goals as well 💪💪 & enjoy the bob while it lasts! It’s def in my list of styles to try one day.
@@fini_jones I love this life and I ain’t going back lol have you been cutting off the damage on your own or have you ever been to a stylist? I usually would big chop my hair but this time around I slowly cut off the damage. So I was getting my hair trimmed every 10-12 weeks and I had to get 3 corrective haircuts in between. That’s another option if you don’t want to cut it off all at once. You’re right, consistency is key and your hair will still thrive while recovering from damage if you keep up with your regimen and your trims. I think a bob would look so good on you but I know cutting that much off can be a lot for some people. I’ve cut my hair off 3 times so it ain’t nothing for me but I knows everyone is different lol
@@InoDelaCruz-uj9on I think we are all trying to figure out how to make it work best for us. Some times it’s just “one of those days”. Are you a straight hair natural, too?
I appreciate the encouragement♥️. I was struggling with how to wear my hair and almost wore it like that (hence why it was swooped under the scarf in the first place), but honestly, I just wasn’t feeling my image/the way I looked and I didn’t have time to do something else so I covered it. I wasn’t feeling the part and how the swoop laid on my forehead. It made my forehead look huge from the front and other side (it is but still!). It also seemed thick and frizzy. Looking back, nothing was wrong with the style, just my confidence in wearing it as is, lbs.
@@killahkurlz7157 Lol, thank you!! I don't do sleek styles with gel, but I do use water and grease from time to time to make it smoother/lay the frizzies down. BUT I was not about to go through all that on crunch time. LBS! Bc in order for it to lay smooth (in my case) it has to set under a scarf. Sometimes you have to go unpolished, lol, "it be like that", but this day I remembered I bought those turbans. I Appreciate the comments. LBS**. I'm literally about to flat iron now, so hopefully these lil struggle days are behind me :) 🙏🙏
Ive been trying out being a straight hair natural for about a year now BUT when I skip flat ironing which is often I throw two braids in my hair just like you did. My hair stay in two braids or two flat twist. I also do braidouts occasionally in the summer time because humidity not going to let me be great.
@@Brittaney1300 Thanks for watching!!♥️🙏 & I have questions 🤣. (I’m supposed to have the answers, but you’ve been at it longer than me!) Have you noticed any detrimental changes to the condition of your hair? And I’m used to thick hair, does your hair ever feel thinner to you?? I’m not sure if I’m tripping or just have to get used to the fact that the hair is flatter/compressed, lbs. I’m so glad to have yet another straight hair natural leaving comments and not gate keeping. Seems like the two braids are clutch for many of us 💪.
@@fini_jones Hey Gril ! So yes I have noticed a a slight change in my curl pattern its a little looser but not drastically enough for me to say no heat. I do be feeling BALD HEADED since my hair isnt as compacted as i am use to it being BUT I have medium density with FINE STRANDS. As far as the integrity of my hair its completely intact and I think its because I washing my hair more than I did as curly hair natural so that means more moisture (deep condition) ,simpler routine, less products and I've recently been using more higher quality products like Olaplex (3,4,5) every other wash day. I straighten my hair every 2 weeks except in the summer time maybe once a month. I live in TEXAS so humidity is disrespectful lol The two braids or 2 flat twist are my GO TO especially in the summer time!
@ I haven’t noticed much change in my hair either/so far; but in my mind, I have already accepted it if it gets looser…I just don’t want it to burn off. You give me hope!! Im glad it’s working out for you, too. & yesss!! To the washing my hair more. I have noticed how much that helps my hair, too. It is not as dry as it was before. In the past I would put product on my hair, but it would still be all dry (most likely because the hair was too dirty to absorb). LOL at the Texas heat being disrespectful! Our heat in IL is rude, so I KNOW Texas heat is no joke. I had/have a permanent part in my head from my go to braids 🥴 LBS. Even being a straight hair natural has helped with that. I say let’s keep at it. In the words of my granny, “more hair, grow hair”. I’m still trying to find that balance between enjoying my hair and maintaining my hair, but so far so good! Thanks for replying ❤️🔥.
@@fini_jones Yes girl! I'm still learning to maintain balance too. I don't want to overdue it on the heat but I also don't want to deal with tangles or having to cancel my plans because my hair isn't "done" anymore. Now I use way less product and only have to "do" my hair on wash day and it last me the next 14 days if I need it to.
@ Why do we sound like the same person, lol. 100% agree!! When I went through a thing and cut all my hair off, all I wore was wash and goes. Then I began to struggle with them as my hair got longer.
