Congratulations! That is _exactly_ what I was hoping to do with the 750 I started scratch building a while back (got distracted building a longer bending brake, should have bought the kit :-) ). Is that a Scarlet 9 on the front?
Seems to work just fine. The entire vertical stabilizer moves as can be seen when taxing. Take a closer look. Unlike most airplanes that have a vertical stabilizer with the rudder attached that moves. And you call yourself a veteran aviato.r LOL
A zenith STOL that’s not ugly! Holy crap, you did it! Who even thought of the nosewheel? Probably someone who couldn’t fly very well. Sounds like it needs more fuel pressure.
Cool plane. Has the look of a single wing Antonov AN4. But the conservative pilot in me can't help thinking - that's a lot of moving parts that can fail.
There is no vertical stabilizer on this aircraft. It’s called a flying rudder, as the entire vertical piece is the rudder and the whole part pivots, so there is more yaw authority than you might think.
@@peterp696 Yeah but it was designed to have a nose wheel which does not need as much rudder authority. Tail wheel conversions OFTEN complain about not having enough rudder authority, smart ass.
I guess they forgot to budget for paint, lol. A radial is wasted on a plane like this. It is also going to cause a ton of parasitic drag without so much as a NACA speed ring. Great way to partially negate the benefits of the Zenith CH701 design. Also makes it harder to keep the engine cool, resulting in rich burn to keep the engine cool and wasting a bunch of fuel as well as causing rapid carbon buildup. This is something someone builds to show off. And pilots who like to show off tend to be a hazard to the rest of us. There are many things in aviation that are technically legal to do but stupid anyway.
Outstanding job.....round sound at it's best.!!
Kind of feels like the Spirit of St. Louis!
This is a truly unique aircraft. And complete respect and admiration for the pilot. My Subscribe to help your growing. good Luck
Radial looks and sounds awesome. Well done Sir…
Neat! Gotta love unique builds!
Irregardless of the other comments, I love it!
Very cool !
I want to learn a lot more. Is there a build page?
Beautiful!, what engine is it?

It's a Rotec - www.rotecaerosport.com/radial-engines
Does that little rudder have enough authority?

Печально, очень мало показали работу двигателя на земле. Мне не хватило времени посчитать все обороты воздушного винта.

vertical stabilizer is way too small.
This "experts" ... is a Well Designed airplane... some research about the Designer and this airplane will be helpfull.
No problem at all.
The Zenair 701 has been flying since 1986 but thanks for your evaluation in 2024.

@@yamkaw346 that's a good point. Thanks.

😂 Always gotta be someone like you.
