This video has some very nice captures of some quite famous bi-planes (and one tri!) Disappointingly, several iconic aircraft were completely left out. The graceful and most beautiful Beechcraft 17-D Staggerwing being one of them. Being a total aviation nutcase, I think this is the most beautiful aircraft ever built. Beechcraft's very first design, with retractable gear, truly a unique and successful aircraft. check it out here -> th-cam.com/video/F1UZ6l3lf-E/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TilleTeamM
I owned an open cockpit, single place biplane called a Starduster. It was awesome. It could take 10 Gs, way more than me. I had so much fun flying aerobatics in that plane.
I’m disappointed they did not mention the Swordfish, which was instrumental in sinking Bismarck, went on to sink more enemy tonnage than any other allied aircraft, and outlasted its intended successor, the Albacore.
Yup, I was looking for the stagger wing and it’s not included in this video. Even though it’s shown in the click photo. Total BS. Corporate TH-cam needs to put an end to this!
Interesting video with a great selection of single engine biplanes. What a pity that no replicas of four engine biplanes exist. My two favorites are the Handley Page HP 42 airliner and the Short Singapore III flying boat. In a comprehensive review of biplanes they are worth a mention.
How can a "doctor" triplane be a biplane? And how can a Stearman, that first flew in 1933, be a trainer for WW1 flyers? And if you start counting the biplanes bigger than the AN2, you really cannot call it "one of the biggest biplanes" ever built. DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST.

you are right

I miss the Bücker Jung mann biplane with the Siemens radial engine.
The Fokker Dr 1 designation is actually nothing to do with doctors. It comes from dreidekker the German term for a triplane.
This is the result of automatic text readers speaking the audio.
You showed a Beech Staggerwing but ignored it in your story.

What about the DeHavilland 86 Express? or the Sikorsky Ilya Moromyts?
Great video - and aircraft! But where's the S.P.A.D.?
The Fokker DR.I is a triplane I suppose that could be construed as having more than one pair of wings.
Many are wondering why you left out the Cadillac of the air, the Beechcraft Staggerwing.
how about the famous German Buecker?

Did you know that the "doctor" triplane was nicked from Sopwith's tri plane design
The " Dr." In the Fokker is actually the German word- " Driedekker " meaning " triplane". Forgive the spelling errors.
Great video ' Thank you
Love the planes but ..... war is NOT something to be proud of .
Smaller wing span increases the induced drag tremendously at low speed.
Dind =
(lift/span)² / (π Q)
Doctor, lol
So, if you have three wings you're a doctor - beats being a 'Dr. Fokker' I suppose : )
The narrator has no idea what he is talking about! He is good at reading but knows nothing about aircraft!
Cockadoodle-doo … it’s a digital robo-voice … that’s also why it rendered Fokker DR-1 as Doctor one …
the Most Remarkable Biplanes in the World:
Fokker dr-1....
So you show a Beech Staggerwing on the thumbnail for the video, then you don't even show or mention it? FOUL!
This is what happens when you have lazy production values. Not recommended.
other comments relevant including some key aircraft & miss-statements. flawed presentation.
The Fokker "Doctor Trip plane???" GREAT biplane... :( no like
Beachcraft Staggerwing?
