There is usually a ĺot of guess work and assumptions in such tutorials, it is so nice to have someone with knowledge to describe what they are doing and why. No rambling, just over 10 minutes, great stuff. Thanks.
@@HuehuehueWolooo I first heard it when I was in A school for being a sonar tech and thought it was just a nickname from the school house but that’s basically how it was known out in the fleet as well lol
Great video! Really appreciate the explanation of your reasoning for each step in getting set up for the mission. Not relevant for this mission as designed, but another really good reason to keep surface and air search radars on doing your engagement is that Soviet submarine doctrine very rarely had them operating without friendly surface ships relatively near by. If you're all preoccupied with a sub hunt it's a very dangerous time for a Soviet ship to close into lethal missile range. Always keep your eyes open!
Always loved the look of the OHP’s, helps when the Australian Adelaide class was basically an OHP, but Australian, helped me get attached that much sooner, and of course that branched of into other US Navy vessels. A crime that Enterprise isn’t in the game yet tho. Great vid btw, been needing the nitty gritty details
Thank you! The Adelaide class is pretty cool with its 8 cell VLS! I wish I could have seen the inside of one because I really wonder how those forwards spaces got cut up to accommodate that. I REALLY hope we get the Enterprise in the game and definitely with that SCANFAR array on the island that gave it that iconic look back in the 60s. Really need the Long Beach in the game as well with that SCANFAR array. Those ships had such a unique look!
good stuf! interesting tidbit to hear about the long tail perrys. once you mentioned it, i did notice the proportions seemed slightly different than what i'm used to
That is funny you caught that cus the first time I saw perrys in game I thought something looks a little off with it in terms of length then I realized they didnt model the long hulls. I am actually not sure if any of the short hulls had towed arrays in real life. I did some digging and all the pictures I've found of short hulls were of no towed arrays. The current chock they use to put the towed array out in game is where the two nixie chocks would be. The OHPs had their tactas chock more biased to the port side if you look at the stern.
Thank you for watching, I greatly appreciate the feedback! The whole series is out now there are 5 total and should be listed in my channel. I hope you enjoy them.
the wp ranges in the units reference is in km but they write it in nm I did the measurements with the map tool multiple times and it's not accurate but when i convert the range from km to nm it makes sense. check this, i tested it with SAM sys and some naval units, i hope they fix this in the future
@@Revenant326 my biggest hang up with that is the player should be able to select the units they want to use. I really hate how it’s mix and match at the moment with somethings being imperial and others being metric.

Thanks for that! I am happy to hear it was nice and digestible in length. I was struggling with that initially!

@ And then Bainbridge, Truxtin, the Californias and of course Long Beach herself, to round out the nuclear fleet, that would be cool as hell
Great video. It's good to learn the actual doctrines that are used for each unit and component.
