    Wanna make it even easier. Remove the backing from only the Hexagon then apply and line up the hexagon and then lift up and pull off the backing from the rest and lay it down. Do this with each layer and you don't have to worry about your design sticking in the wrong place.

    This was PERFECT and I watched 2 of your layering tutorial. If I can simply add - when you're sharing your screen, would it be too much to show your pointer. It would help to show where your arrow is. BUT THIS VIDEO was AWESOME!!

    Nice explanation of the technique. The only thing I would add is that when I have a layering project, I place 3 triangles spaced around the image instead of your single hexagon. This gives more accurate alignment, especially on bigger jobs.

    I would cover the entire design except for the Hexi with the back of the transfer sheet so the layer I am attaching does not stick accidently. Then when the Hexi is lined up , you can lift the transfer sheet remove backing covering the design and lay down the layer. I believe it is called the hinge method

    Why do you choose colors in the software if you will be printing to colored vinyl? Is it just to remind you what color is going where?

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Precisely. The more consistency you have in the software the better your project will turn out. There is no confusion if you switch your colors in Design Space to the same colors as the vinyl you will be using. We recommend it!

  • @pambuckner5939
    @pambuckner5939 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Newbie Cricut owner here. (BTW, ❤ your tutorials!) With a larger project, I can see myself being so focused on lining up the hexagon that the bicycle layer is at risk of touching where it's not supposed to. (In the video it looked like that almost happened.) Could you keep the backing of each bicycle layer covering the bicycle until the hexagon is properly aligned? After hexagon alignment, remove backing, burnish, and do the same for the next layer.

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Also, sure, if you'd like! If you want to go that route we recommend going ahead and weeding and removing the backing, then replacing the backing and do it that way. It makes it way easier to remove the backing again when you've already done it once.

    Thank you so much for this video. I will be trying this tomorrow. I’ve been really nervous about doing multi layer vinyl. I hope to have the same success as you did. I think I need to try a simple design with maybe only 3 layers. Thank you for a great video
