I think the difference between Starship's and Hybe's first marketing of the groups was mainly because Hybe groups normally have big attention and fanbases even from debut, while other smaller companies usually struggle more with debuts so it's understandable they wanted to push the already big names of the group members to get the attention at first
With that said it was pretty annoying that Starship wanted it to look like "Wonyoung and friends" for too long, i wished they weren't as obvious as they were
Totally agree. It's understandable that Starship wanted to make the best out of their popularity, however annoying it might be. Also, Hybe didn't directly push Sakura and Chaewon down our throats but they had a group debuting in a hurry and without proper training (both individually and as a team) exactly to ride the izone tide. The group was equally created around two members and this damaged all of them, even though in different ways.
This . As much as I hate pushing one or two member , IVE really needed to do it , comparing them with lesserafim is kinda stupid cause being from hybe already guarantees a dedicated fanbase for lsf they just need to maintain that fanbase and grow , while for ive , only two have a fanbase, rest all need to grow a fanbase from the scratch . Also the favoritism is way way less compared to what post I.O.I groups did , like some groups only showed the IOI members and general public had no idea who else is in the group , IVE from day 1 got way fairer treatment , it's just sometimes they showcased wonyoung a bit more , which is necessary cause starshit doesn't really have a agency cult following behind them unlike hybe . Also can you really blame SS for what they're doing ? cause clearly they're doing something right to be able to produce a group who's outselling other 4th gen ggs from big 3 and hybe . Another thing , if starshit has been pushing wonyoung from day 1 , they have also been pushing yujin and leeseo from day 2 and 3 , but they don't get a fraction of hate that wonyoung gets .

If Wonyoung and Yujin weren't in IVE, I'd probably have never given them a second look. I like them all now, but there's no denying that they got a serious IZONE boost.
people are always making up these lies about ive, that they hate each other, that they're not talented. that's absolutely not true and im glad more people have been realizing this since like, mid 2023!! being able to open a comment section without seeing whatever antis have to say is great 😭 im glad the hate train is over. nice video as always
Most of the "controversy" surrounding IVE was shit the viewers made up for no reason. They're literally one of the most uncontroversial groups I've seen. I could understand the favoritism issue in the beginning, but it's not like that was the girls' fault or anything.😭
i love ive and they have improved a lot on vocals, but they used to be pretty bad for the most part.. crying and just debuting is not an excuse. the amount of singers who still sound great when crying or when they have just debuted is staggering. if you aren’t at least decent at debut, then what’s the point? they have been much better now though, but don’t sugar coat it
I don't think comparing IVE and LESSERAFIM in initial promotion is fair because Starship is a smaller company then Hybe and unlike Hybe they don't have company stans that ensure their groups immediat success so they have to do things like putting extra focus on the already popular members while Hybe doesn't
I was actually going to make this point in the video but I was unsure if it looked like I was being too biased towards IVE. I totally get this, I can imagine this is the reason they chose to do this even though I wish they didn't
please compare source music with starship rather than hybe.....i am actually assuming you know who source music is. Starship took the expected route in promoting IZ*ONE members, yet Chaewon and Sakura are notably older than the rest of the group members (17-26) further promoting them might not be the best strategy.
I’d also like to mention that post-produce groups haven’t had the best success prior to IZ*ONE’s disbandment. For example: DIA, Gugudan, Weki Meki, Pristin, NU’EST, AB6IX, and this includes all post-disbandment X1 members who debuted in a group. Former IZ*ONE members are distinctly far more successful in a group after disbandment. Pushing Jang Wonyoung (and Yujin) was seriously Starships best bet.
@@nekosensei55Why? Lesserafim is attactched to Hybes brand even bang PD announced the members like be serious. This isn't Source Music in 2015 this is Source with Hybe staff and influence all throughout.
Same, they released switch soon after I saw their concert and had to miss them performing it. Also they were SO inconsiderate to hold their concert in Hong Kong a couple weeks before I visited 🙄🙄🙄
The "Wonyoung stealing the center position" argument is a pure garbage. I mean, come on, they literally have assigned positions in the "standard" formation, being Wonyoung and Yujin in the center, Rei and Gaeul on the left, Liz and Leeseo on the right. It's that way all the time!
Without Wonyoung or Yujin, there is no IVE, they were the most experienced members and already had their own fans in droves. It would have been insane to not showcase them front and center.
I always felt the hate for I’ve was super fabricated by antis as well. Especially Sojang whose convinced all her lies about Wonyoung are true. Jealousy is the root cause tbh. I’m glad they are still slaying tho and I’ve enjoyed their music
Not a Dive. Had only listened to Baddie and I am. However, I decided to fly to the other side of the country to see them live. One of the best decisions of my life. They are amazing live.
With what you said about minor members in Ive and in your Le Sserafim video, I just wish people weren’t so willing to just excuse or forgive companies for it. There’s no shortage of talented, adult trainees in the k-pop industry. Debuting younger members, even if you set aside all of the ethical gripes, is just stupid because they’re always poorly trained and typically underdeveloped in the talent aspect because they just aren’t given time. Companies are skipping vocal lessons and other pivotal skills for idols that are already children and just growing into themselves, lauding them so much hate that they can barely cope with for not being able to perform well. I especially feel this with Eunchae because it’s just so awkward with how all the other members are adults (sans Garam). And the group is trying to push a mature concept but then it conflicts with whatever Eunchae can do so hybe is stuck flip-flopping between incoherent concepts and STILL sexualizing her all the while. A lot of their fans get upset with hearing this but she and Garam shouldn’t have ever been put in the group because with the direction that the group’s concepts have went in, it’s just not a fit for her. So far Ive has managed its concepts and young members accordingly (in my opinion) so I hope hybe gets it together and figures something out for Eunchae that works.
The biggest thing I hate about kpop is the minors issue. I wish companies would stop doing it. I didn't do my due diligence with ive, not knowing that most of the members were minors. Although I prefer the way starship manages minors compared to other companies, all of it should be banned. You should have to be at LEAST 18 before displaying yourself in front of so many people and binding yourself in year-long contracts. Its just objectively not right
LSF was under HYBE so they were destined to be popular anyways even if Sakura and Chaewon weren’t in the group meanwhile starship had a lot of groups that were stuck in Nugudom except for a few so having Annyeongz in the groups and pushing them more garnered them a lot of attention so it was a very smart move from Starship but it also came with its consequences which happened to fall into Wonyoung’s hands
I saw IVE when they came to london, ive been a dive for 2 years but had never been overly obsessed like I'd listen to their songs quite a lot and watch 123 IVE but that was about it..... But that concert made me a hardcore dedicated DIVE ong anyone who says they are untalented is just idk a hag or smth best night of my life 🙌🙌
i saw the ive concert in london too.. they were absolutely amazing and proved all the ‘they lip sync and don’t sing live’ people wrong. especially won youngs fish and chips and gaeuls solo were so memorable to me… i love them
@@julzyyyyy yesss their solo/unit performances were wonderful I remember my brother at one point (a massive non k-popper) turned to me and asked “are they really singing live” haha he came out being a massive yujin stan and says that the one group he wants me to talk about is IVE lolol. May I ask what section you were sat in?? I was in 106 ☺️
i feel like starship heavily pushed annyeongz at the beginnning to be more on the safer side ..say if ive was never as successful as they managed to be in their first year, they'd still somehow manage to make profit (WJSN isnt nearly as big as ive is and they still have bangers) whereas hybe is hybe. lesserafim literally have deranged bts stans supporting them they wouldve been successful regardless even now while they're getting dragged left and right, they'll regain support eventually. They even recovered from the entire garam thing.
Hybe will always be hybe. I love LSF but its so evident that they lack vocal training. But I think it's safe to say Chaewon is a bit better than the rest of the members. But to be honest I do wish Starship did not push Wonyoung and Yujin that much because Wonyoung is getting shamed left and right for EVERYTHING. Take them not ''bowing properly'' as an example. When that controversy was happening, the hate was super forced especially towards Wonyoung. I would she her getting hate comments every single time she didn't ''bow properly'' or when she didn't smile.
@@reivolution im afraid its the cost of being an it girl. She's so much more well loved recently and seems to be doing much better than in 2022. That was such a rough year for ive
I wish that fake DIVE’s wouldn’t bash the group. There’s many different groups that do similar things and I haven’t heard the DIVE’s being rude to them. (No one deserves hate for little things, considering we have bigger issues right now but nonetheless.) Your videos are amazing btw ❤
1:25 As someone here in the comments said, you can't compare hybe's power, influence and money to starship's, so it's reasonable to think that the reason why starship pushed so hard and for so long the "Wonyoung and friends" image of IVE was to gain as much popularity as they could. It was a good decision from the monetary point of view, but a terrible one for the group, since that only made the popularity gap between ex-izones and non ex-izones even bigger.

The Chinese culture thing is interesting. Cause there's a lot of overlap between the two countries. Still not my place to say who's wrong in that situation, I'm not east asian.
As a Hong Konger speaking, in my opinion I do not think that there’s anything cultural plagiarism in the Heya MV. As many of the Hong Kong saw Heya as a comeback to the “fight” between mainland China and Hong Kong (due to political reasons) and I do think a lot of mainland Chinese do think the whole world belongs to them so yeah🤷♀️ The hating of ive in China (especially on xiaohongshu) had become a trend. They be going to their concerts, saying they bought tickets before the scandal came up and cldnt get a refund so they have to go along. I’ve seen many posts saying exactly the same thing, like oh the concert was so boring and cringe, the members r just doing as they told. Which is definitely NOT TRUE as I went to the same concert and I can rly tell the members r rly enjoying themselves. A lot of exposing posts of the ops complaining but turned out rly enjoying the concert irl, and they just hate on Ive for the scandal. So overall I do think the hating of Ive in mainland China cold only be due to they have to maintain the mindset of “loving their country”, and liking Ive seems not to be fitting in that mindset.
"Lesserafim had a successful debut with 2 ex IZONE members, and I don't know how to feel about it." Mmmh myv bc they debuted under HYBE Labels, which is much more influential and has a bigger kpop fanbase compared to Starship. Additionally, the Korean IZONE fandom was upset because Starship didn't want to continue with IZONE's contract. The IVE members received a lot of blame and hatred in Korea because of this. Many former IZONE fans still hold a grudge against them, and mostly ignore IVE while praising HYBE for "never forgetting IZONE." Debuting under HYBE Labels is already a huge promotion because they are under the company with the biggest K-pop group of all time. Additionally, that group appears in TikTok challenges with them. Do I need to say more? In comparison, Starship doesn't have as much influence and had to rely on the 2 ex IZONE members. I don't think the promotion was as exaggerated as kpopers claim. Wonyoung had 2 different outfits at her debut, and that was enough for the whole K-pop fandom to continue with the favoritism narrative to this day. The majority of her different outfits are because she was an MC at most year-end award shows, but K-pop fans refuse to acknowledge this because they love to hate on IVE. Mind you, the latest music show, Yujin was an MC, they dressed her in a different, long dress and (fortunately), I haven't seen her receive any hate. I wonder why? Oh, we know, they only use the favoritism issue with Wonyoung to hate on the whole group. The other members have had many photoshoots, covers, contracts, and even their own IG accounts, but K-pop fans ignore this because it doesn't fit their hate narrative.
I understand why starship highlighted the two most popular members, especially during ive's debut. Since starship is a small company, even if they had wonyoung and yujin, they were probably still insecure of ive's future success knowing how groups from smaller conpanies are often treated, so they had to somehow gain the attention of wiz*ones to build a fanbase from the start. However, as for lesserafim, they are a hybe girl group, so right off the bat, that's definitely gonna guarantee their success. Also, they not only had 2 but 3 ex-produce48 participants as members, meaning more fans for each member. Yunjin's fans would've probably been really excited for her debut too, especially with two iz*one members and in a hybe girl group, so they would also definitely be tuned in. And then after they debuted, garam's extremely controversial bullying scandal began, which gained them lots of popularity. The public started pitying the girls for their comeback being "ruined" by garam's scandal and how the other members "suffered" from it (even though it actually did them a huge favour in terms of popularity tbh) so obviously, this gained them more fans
ill probably edit this comment as i go along but in the bow controversy, literally wonyoung was the center of it for some reason? like if "ive didn't bow" why is wonyoung getting all the hate then and not the group itself?
I'm not a DIVE but I love their music and I am in love with Liz. I find it so dumb that people hate on them especially Wonyoung for nothing. It's so dumb. Antis want a fanfiction story so bad 😭😭IVE stays winning
Something I'll never understand about IVE is their solo stans (Specifically wonyoung solo stans), because they will defend the hate for wonyoung but hate on the other members,
The difference between why Starship utilized izone's members more than HYBE did is simply tied to how big of a company they both are. HYBE is massive and if they have a group's debut do not so well, they have the means and budget to fix it in their next comeback without a worry. Starship can't afford that. Let's be real although they had successful groups like Sistar and MontaX in the past it was not enough to set them to do whatever they want for the next 10 generations. Furthermore i dare say ive's debut was....much more expensive than their usual means. I mean look at the previous 2 group's debut and estimate how much they spended on that and then compare it to Eleven. They put more resources and budget than usual for IVE so they had to guarantee a big success. Which is where the already established themselves in the industry Wonyoung and Yujin comes in. Not to mention their sheer experience leading the other members when it comes to performance n promotions, it was also a business move by starship. And they delivered ofc. So yeah...sorry for my rambling
I wanna point out that Yujin was also a minor at the time of debut. Yes she debut at 18 but in korea you become an adult on new year the year you turn 19 so Yujin became an adult in 2022
Also, I totally agree with the "Western fans trying to school people about their own culture" point. It's so annoying to me because how tf are you... a person who probably has never been to Korea, and probably aren't Korean, gonna try and "educate" a Korean person. This also goes hand in hand with Western fans trying to say certain groups are appropriating African culture, when they know nothing about it, but that's another conversation. It's just that a lot of Kpop fans like to talk about things they know nothing about wayyy too much, and it makes other people think that the entirety of kpop fans are stupid.......
Wonyoung is my bias, and yes, she was obv favored before, but that's not her fault she never even asked for it, and not to mention they stopped doing it, but for some reason people still think she "outshines" the members with her outfits, its time for them to realize that she is ethereal asf and no matter what outfit she gets she'll always remain seen because shes literally ethereal to the point you notice her, even if she looks homeless.
i think the difference between lsfm and ive was the company. lsfm would have been popular either way (with or without sakura and chaewon) since they are under hybe. Ive didn't have that guarantee under starship
i find accussing idols of being attention seekers so strange, like what is an idol of not a professional attention seeker? its literally their job to get peoples attention
Ive is my ult group too !! first about wonyoung and yujin being pushed by the company I think it's absolutely obvious but the thing is I never felt like the other members were being treated unfairly like people say , they got to shine and have their lines and killing parts and great styling and their own activities especially since I've ive era , people are just stuck in their debut era and never keep up with other members
Yeah, despite Wonyoung and Yujin being pushed at the start, Starship still gave other members chances and nowadays they’re all equal anyway. Haters of IVE will never let go of the promotions of the two ex-Iz*one members because it’s all they can hate on IVE for 🤷♀️ they’re all good now and besides no member has ever really been left out or neglected as much as people push it to be, I mean Gaeul did her solo performance of 7 Rings or smth and Leeseo went with Wonyoung to sing that time. People also like to hate on Yujin and Wonyoung based on their CFs but companies don’t get to choose who brands will take - brands request a certain member (usually the more popular ones) but people just can’t move on that’s the only issue

As a Chinese person about the heya controversy, I really didn’t notice that there was any Chinese influence at first watch, but I can definitely see it watching it again. I think the use of Chinese culture in Korean media can be really tricky, cause a lot of Chinese food or Chinese-Korean culture, usually gets appropriated as Korean, or the Korean version is usually more popular. like with jjajangmyeon, although it’s basically the same as the Chinese version, 炸酱面 (zhá jiàng miàn) is much less known, and I think it’s no coincidence. I think it’s very backhanded to use Chinese culture enough so that it appears “Korean”, cause I definitely think their prejudice specifically towards Chinese people that is unique to other East Asians. I think it was sorta questionable for them to use Chinese trends, because Ive seen it happen before, over and over again in Korean media, but I know that Korea has historically been influenced by China, so I really can’t distinguish between the appropriation of Old Korean culture or Chinese culture, because they’re very intertwined. I’m not that angry at them, considering this controversy is quite tame compared to other racist controversies idols have done in the past, like Shinhwa saying the n word in T.O.P, or idols doing blackface or being colorist, so I don’t really think they should be cancelled or should apologize, at worst they used Chinese culture and hid it as Ancient Korean, continuing the cycle of Sinophobia, or just used Old Korean culture that was deemed as Chinese by Chinese netizens (which happens A LOT) To be honest, I’m not that mad at them or the company, so I’ll support them as a dive forever ❤
Wony & yujin were favoured by fans at first by now i see liz is also being favoured by them. I think time will make every member fan favorite . But starship is not doing very good job promoting them individually . I love they made gaeul as main character in last comeback . but its not enough . Best evidence is their instagram account followers . when we compared it to le sserafim members ive members dont have half of followers than them (exept yujin & wony). & they were hated for long time but company did nothing . But for le sserafim their company made two documentaries for fans to understand members' members metal situation & hardwork .
Logically promoting the two established members more makes sense from a marketing perspective, I just wish Starship had more nuance when doing so. That first year was embarrassing how over the top they were with putting Wonyoung and Yujin front and center all the time. It felt too forced and ultimately crippled the introduction of the unknown members and I’ve as a united new group. Truth is the audience who already liked Wonyoung/Yujin were going to engage with I’ve for them anyway. They didn’t need to specifically promote them to such an intense degree over the others as their fanbase was already established, they needed to use them to spotlight and develop public interest in the new members instead.
The biggest problem with ive is that they haven't released the long awated kistch part 2 yet, i mean fans aren't going to stick arround if we didn't get our yearly fix of kitsch. RELEASE THE SNYDER CUT!
I am in no way saying that Wonyoung is doing anything to get attention. I don't know her nor do I know much about IVE beyond their music. But hypothetically, if she was, it'd kinda makes sense. She was arguably the most popular member in what was arguably the most popular girl group, then she debuts in one of the most popular girl groups again. I could see anyone enjoying that much support and wanting to get more of it. Obviously she's also gotten an immense amount of hate for the most arbitrary and stupid reasons, but the support she and IVE do receive could be addicting and I wouldn't be able to blame her that much
Natasha, you are such an awesome girl! I really love your pronunciation and your videos help me learn to understand English by ear with pleasure. Thank you for your work!💞
honey the reason starship ent chose to push wonyoung and yujin more than the other members during their debut was for monetary gain and popularity compared to hybe, because every hybe group is inherently going to be popular. starship does not give a flying fck if you're upset that some dives hate wony biases.
i think that the difference between ives and sseras debut promotion makes sense. since starship isnt that famous they needed the iz*one hype to make their group visible, while le sserafim has hybe priviledge. Also, yunjin was in produce too and kazuha had her ballet past so compared to Ive, they had more members who had already been in the public eye. one other thing that i think is a problem with ive is all the ppl on social media promoting eating disorders and using wonyoung to do so. its not her fault and if they were actual ive/wony fans they would know that she is against dieting, however, i think this sheds negativ light on the group either way. anyways ive and le sserafim are both the main slayers and i love them so muchh
i think the difference between how they promoted ive and lesserafim relies on the fact that hybe is a way bigger company, and known for pushing their groups with their power, even if the group didn't feature chaewon and sakura they probably would still be succesfull.
the issue with ive: grown-ass and not grown-ass people felt like they were right to bully a sixteen year old for eating a strawberry and acting cringey. at 16!!! come on guys. how many people were not cringe at 16? if anyone's about to say "me", please come back to that comment a couple of years later and revaluate your answer. it's absolutely okay to be cringe at 16 - you are growing and figuring stuff out. being cringe is the right every sixteen year old needs to have and exercise. the only thing different with wonyong is that she has to go through her most important and formative years in the public eye and her company is not doing a good enough job to protect her
"she won't make a video about Ive just like Lesserafim because she is biased" or just because they are two different groups so what applies to one will not necessarily apply to the other, but people bringing Ive in the conversation when we're are talking about Lessarifm isn't being biased ? Lol
2:20 This is so true. I am a huge Wonyoung fan, but I actually really love all the members too. I love their humors especially Liz. But when I say Wonyoung is my bias, people just seem to take it the wrong way? 💀 They immediately assume that I don't like the other members and that I only like Wonyoung because she's the most popular. I hope people stop assuming this because there's so much more reasons as to why someone likes a person/stans a person, it's not always because of their fame or looks. Also I love how global fans shamed IVE because they didn't get on their fucking knees and fucking bow to their seniors. Like..calm down girl. You're not even korean mind your own business 💀 And now they're being accused of faking a mistake in stage? Ya'll need to be for real cause your reasons are getting more lame day by day.
2:28 when I was a new K-pop Stan and I’ve was my ult group (still is and forever will be) I didn’t know much about the members so I refused to have a bias until I learned all the memebers. When I finally chose wonyoung as my bias, my classmates didn’t believe I liked IVE or K-pop in general all because wonyoung was my bias. They called it too cliche and that I just like wonyoung because she is the prettiest, which isn’t true. Sure she is pretty but the other members are also really pretty. But yeah. And when Felix was my bias in skz you can just imagine. But yeah. Most of the kids at my school refuse to have wonyoung as a bias bc wonyoung is too simple and if you are a wonyoung Stan then you don’t like IVE
my biggest issue with non korean stans is they think they know Korean culture better then actual people. like seriously all u know abt "Korea" is through movies dramas and kpop and you judge people through it. smh
Rei's my bias, but she's an infj so it has always been her who goes too much on teasing the other members. she's just so brutally honest it humiliates them, and it triggers wonyoung the most.

I think the difference between Starship's and Hybe's first marketing of the groups was mainly because Hybe groups normally have big attention and fanbases even from debut, while other smaller companies usually struggle more with debuts so it's understandable they wanted to push the already big names of the group members to get the attention at first
With that said it was pretty annoying that Starship wanted it to look like "Wonyoung and friends" for too long, i wished they weren't as obvious as they were
plus big companies don't need to do that because idols from big4 are already promised solo recognition and success
Totally agree. It's understandable that Starship wanted to make the best out of their popularity, however annoying it might be. people are always making up these lies about ive, that they hate each other, that they're not talented. that's absolutely not true and im glad more people have been realizing this since like, mid 2023!! being able to open a comment section without seeing whatever antis have to say is great 😭 im glad the hate train is over. nice video as always
No the amount of videos people edited to make IVE look disrespectful is wild..... they'll never be the bullies people are desperate for them to be
Most of the "controversy" surrounding IVE was shit the viewers made up for no reason. They're literally one of the most uncontroversial groups I've seen. I could understand the favoritism issue in the beginning, but it's not like that was the girls' fault or anything.😭
this reminds me of when ive did their first encore and got hate for "bad singing" when it was literally their first encore, THEY WERE CRYING.
I cried too when they won and trust me girl my singing was way worse than theirs 😀😀
Illit too. Like how can you expect them to sing perfectly when they are crying and also just debuted
Nah I'll it sounded bad, I've didn't sound bad the difference makes the difference@@fairyisa_
@@fairyisa_ just debuted isnt an excuse lmao they shouldnt debut if they cant do the basics of their job
i love ive and they have improved a lot on vocals, but they used to be pretty bad for the most part.. crying and just debuting is not an excuse. the amount of singers who still sound great when crying or when they have just debuted is staggering. if you aren’t at least decent at debut, then what’s the point? they have been much better now though, but don’t sugar coat it

The biggest problem with Ive is the fact that they released Switch like a week after I saw them on tour. That was so rude, how dare they 😒
I saw them in tour and heya was so incredible live I was screaming like crazy
@@twofacedmiku ahhh I’m so jealous but also happy for you 😭🥹
No, you should be happy, they took out some of their best songs to make room for heya and accendio
Same, they released switch soon after I saw their concert and had to miss them performing it. Also they were SO inconsiderate to hold their concert in Hong Kong a couple weeks before I visited 🙄🙄🙄
So?
That whole “interrupting and being rude y to the MC” scandal was also idiotic because the MC was literally their BFF Minju from Izone.
I’m glad they are still slaying tho and I’ve enjoyed their music
the real problem with ive is that i can’t see them in concert 😡

Not a Dive. Had only listened to Baddie and I am. However, I decided to fly to the other side of the country to see them live. One of the best decisions of my life. They are amazing live.
Lucky 😭😭 I’ve always wanted to see them live but I’m a broke 😔
But that concert made me a hardcore dedicated DIVE ong anyone who says they are untalented is just idk a hag or smth best night of my life 🙌🙌
IVE are just everything to me. I literally love their vibe and music. They seem to work so hard too and their stages are always great
i saw the ive concert in london too.. they were absolutely amazing and proved all the ‘they lip sync and don’t sing live’ people wrong. especially won youngs fish and chips and gaeuls solo were so memorable to me… i love them
@@julzyyyyy yesss their solo/unit performances were wonderful I remember my brother at one point (a massive non k-popper) turned to me and asked “are they really singing live” haha he came out being a massive yujin stan and says that the one group he wants me to talk about is IVE lolol.

I just wanted to say that your channel feels like such a safe space for girl group stans!

Many former IZONE fans still hold a grudge against them, and mostly ignore IVE while praising HYBE for "never forgetting IZONE."
Debuting under HYBE Labels is already a huge promotion because they are under the company with the biggest K-pop group of all time.
ATE. It's only a problem when it comes to Wonyoung istg.
The public started pitying the girls for their comeback being "ruined" by garam's scandal and how the other members "suffered" from it (even though it actually did them a huge favour in terms of popularity tbh) so obviously, this gained them more fans
ill probably edit this comment as i go along but in the bow controversy, literally wonyoung was the center of it for some reason? like if "ive didn't bow" why is wonyoung getting all the hate then and not the group itself?
bc her haters are so desperate and they wait for any chance to blame her
THATS WHAT IM SAYINGGG

Something I'll never understand about IVE is their solo stans (Specifically wonyoung solo stans), because they will defend the hate for wonyoung but hate on the other members,
The way I said “HUH” when is aw the caption but then I watched it and understood. STAN IVE!
Yes she debut at 18 but in korea you become an adult on new year the year you turn 19 so Yujin became an adult in 2022
@Wyitgrl I know but at the time of the debut they still used the korean age that's why I pointed it out
I really like your mindset and your perspective. Good video♥
My biggest issue with IVE is them releasing Lips, the voices are always replaying it in my head. 😋
Most of Wonyoung Stan's I've seen are soo pretty 🩷🎀🎀
i find accussing idols of being attention seekers so strange, like what is an idol of not a professional attention seeker? its literally their job to get peoples attention

I’m not that angry at them, considering this controversy is quite tame compared to other racist controversies idols have done in the past, like Shinhwa saying the n word in T.O.P, or idols doing blackface or being colorist, so I don’t really think they should be cancelled or should apologize, at worst they used Chinese culture and hid it as Ancient Korean, continuing the cycle of Sinophobia, or just used Old Korean culture that was deemed as Chinese by Chinese netizens (which happens A LOT)
To be honest, I’m not that mad at them or the company, so I’ll support them as a dive forever ❤
But for le sserafim their company made two documentaries for fans to understand members' members metal situation & hardwork .

my biggest problem with ive is that with every comeback they just keep getting better and better and i dont know how to handle it
Logically promoting the two established members more makes sense from a marketing perspective, I just wish Starship had more nuance when doing so.

Obviously she's also gotten an immense amount of hate for the most arbitrary and stupid reasons, but the support she and IVE do receive could be addicting and I wouldn't be able to blame her that much

honey the reason starship ent chose to push wonyoung and yujin more than the other members during their debut was for monetary gain and popularity compared to hybe, because every hybe group is inherently going to be popular. starship does not give a flying fck if you're upset that some dives hate wony biases.
i think that the difference between ives and sseras debut promotion makes sense. since starship isnt that famous they needed the iz*one hype to make their group visible, while le sserafim has hybe priviledge.
I opened this video ready to get my feelings hurt but was pleasantly surprised. I love IVE!
My biggest problem: I visited their concert and now I'm not the same anymore.

the issue with ive: grown-ass and not grown-ass people felt like they were right to bully a sixteen year old for eating a strawberry and acting cringey. at 16!!!
come on guys. how many people were not cringe at 16? if anyone's about to say "me", please come back to that comment a couple of years later and revaluate your answer.
it's absolutely okay to be cringe at 16 - you are growing and figuring stuff out. being cringe is the right every sixteen year old needs to have and exercise.
the only thing different with wonyong is that she has to go through her most important and formative years in the public eye and her company is not doing a good enough job to protect her
"she won't make a video about Ive just like Lesserafim because she is biased" or just because they are two different groups so what applies to one will not necessarily apply to the other, but people bringing Ive in the conversation when we're are talking about Lessarifm isn't being biased ?
You're not even korean mind your own business 💀
And now they're being accused of faking a mistake in stage? Ya'll need to be for real cause your reasons are getting more lame day by day.
Love seeing the ive appreciation. They deserve so much recognition for their flawless discography
Favoritism IS a big deal
my biggest issue with non korean stans is they think they know Korean culture better then actual people. like seriously all u know abt "Korea" is through movies dramas and kpop and you judge people through it. smh

Kpop star: sneezes
Stans: How inconsiderate she is! She needs to apologize right away, what if she got someone sick?

They really just need better songs. They are Disco Queens but have barely touched the genre after "After Like." They are damn fine performers.
Wdymm😭 They have a practically no-skip discography
But yeah, I would understand wanting more after life-esque songs
Their biggest problem is releasing love dive. Because it’s been hogging up the top 1 spot in my streams!!!
Off topic but she is so pretty
8:06 Wonyoung's face looking at her 💀
girl drop the lipstick brand and shade! it looks so good on you 😍
the demonisation of wonyoung is insane. people will look for anything to cut her down. also all of these ive "controversies" are so minor its hilarious people make a fuss about it
Personally as a chinese I don't like the way Heya is appropriating my culture. It's very frustrating to see it getting rebranded as korean.
