- The Revenant is a form of demon that used to be human. However, after the exposure and experiments with the lazarus waves, it yielded some pretty interesting results. So lets check out the biological changes induced in this humans from exposure to Demonic Energy shall we!

so the revanant program is basically on 1 hand your skin and muscles rip from your bones and you turn into an undead abomination, but on the other hand you get a kick ass mind controlled jetpack/rocket launcher combo....tough choice

Something to note lore wise is that most of the screeching and yell from the Revenant is actually from the pain of existing. Bone growth and tearing of flesh still affects it in battle. I've seen while playing that when run around him you'll see it shaking a bit , clenching his hands , and screaming. I find it fascinating that game the actually showed what the data was referring to. It makes more fun it notice little things like that.

@@RoanokeGaming What if it is so that the soldier would be lighter and slimmer and provide a better platform for speed enhancements since to make a human that fast would need much bigger, stronger and more energy hungry motors. The humans would also need armor, and bigger connections.
Lastly the joints of a human might not be able to support such speeds I would like to hear your thoughts on this 🤔😊

@@RoanokeGaming well, as you said in the video (which was great as always by the way), anything that can kill The Doom Slayer by literally tearing him apart and beating him to death Gears Of War style must be considerably strong, but the same can be said about the Brute being able to kill Chief with a melee attack. I honestly couldnt even begin to hazard a guess as to who would win, so ill leave it to you, the horrifying monster biology expert.
Well the revenant is much better armed and far more resilient, for example a shot from a plasma pistol destroys the brutes armor, meanwhile the revenant can take a rocket to the face and keep fighting.

you know after i read the revenants bio one question popped up in my mind: all those implants and obvious "fixes" in the deformation (and the joint you mention that i overlooked) seem to be way to much effort to be effective considering how easily UACs own marines can take these guys out. Even as it´s designated fire support role it just doesnt seem to make it any more effective than putting the jetpack+rocketlauncher on somebody like the red guard (the dead soldiers you get the upgrade chips from) who are already enhanced. not to mention they can use an other weapons with their normal two hands like the a HAR or a combat shotgun unlike revenants. I guess it just shows how much influence hell had on the UAC already.

A question I’ve had for a while is why we’re the UAC weaponising demons? Were they using them to kill other demons? To keep security on the UAC facility? To use as weapons against other countries/companies on Earth or to fight other dimensional threats, besides hell?

Imagine you are running a country (whether "democratic" or authoritarian is irrelevant). Wouldn't you want an army of spooky skeleton bois that you could use to take out the terrorists, insurgents, or other undesirables _without_ risking any of your own people? Consider that these skeletons don't need to eat or sleep; they don't need any training (they have neural control chips and thus can conceivably be programmed for various roles); they are stronger, faster, and tougher than 99% of Earth's tier 1 operators, and they look scary as hell to boot--would you be willing to face off against a bloodstained, 3 meter tall skeleton that is sprinting toward you faster than Usain Bolt, shrugging off multiple hits from full-power cartridges like 7.62x51mm whilst constantly roaring in agony and ripple-firing 60mm rockets on your position? I don't know about you, but I can say without any shame that that would make me shit my pants.
It's ghoulish stuff, but if you look at it this way, who wouldn't want a company of friendly Revenants, provided that you could make sure they'd only doot at what you want dooted?

I’m sorry, this is a SLIGHT BIT off topic, but you know what’s cool about being a Russian? You can actually play Metro 2033 games in the language they were intended to be played on.

It sure is, dude. Subjectively, it is funnier. Although it might be just that I know a little more Russian than English, I don’t know to be honest. For example, in the first game, the first Library level, one of the two helpers asks the following: “Did someone fart?” And then the other dude goes: “Even if someone did, we wouldn’t feel it, we are in the gas masks.” (What a legendary joke) In Russian, the first guy actually ask if anyone shit their pants, which makes SO MUCH more sense, and it is more hilarious. The response stood the same though. So, I don’t know. I really like the accents of characters in the games when you play on English though. I do like the Russian language in the game more however. It’s actually the only game that I have that I prefer to play on a language that isn’t English. Anyway, love Metro.

I swear though I’ve had so many situations, especially in the higher difficulties of these Toot boys catch me off guard with a barrage of rockets whenever I’m busy fighting another demon or just straight up slapping the back of my head

There’s a collectibles tab in the campaign section where if you select a doom figure, you can actually view both weapons and demons. Quite cool.

I wonder if Lazarus wave would be lessened in intensity and in longer time intervals between them plus a heavy meat diet for nutrients then what would they look like. Would they still be skeletal or would be skin able to keep up with the growth of bones, and who knows maybe muscle would grow too.

I understand why the Revenant is aggressive in classic Doom and Doom Eternal, but the ones in 2016 were quite obviously still under the UAC's control judging by their Dossier entry, so they should be the Slayer's ally.
They would be under the control of the Lazarus division (Olivia Pierce's part of the UAC). So, the hell cultists.

the old lore is pretty cool, piecing back together a demon to fight, but now its still pretty cool because of the changes they undergo!
@@RoanokeGaming but the old lore was so interesting dude, but we could have a middle ground where they are demon corpses found by the uac and repieced and modified, doom eternal seems to be more faithful to classic doom and also takes place on earth so they could do something with that, I don't think they'd use the original lore because it would be pretty hard to explain the cybernetics, wonder what they're gonna do with the mancubus...

@@RoanokeGaming currently playing doom, thief, and civ vi, and about to start playing prey. i think you could do well with any of those! btw, i did get your notification, haha. i do notice i get notifs later than many others though - so eg with streams, I'll get the notification 15 mins after the stream started... or if it's a channel announcing they'll be doing a stream, sometimes that announcement video shows up in my notifications only after the stream happened! i think it's much worse on facebook though, where i seem to be getting a delay of at least an hour.

@@RoanokeGaming I've noticed some people do a pre-stream to let everyone get on the stream and only then do they start the program. often they will do callouts during the wait period (ie what country/state/city the viewers are from). this wait happens because notifs get in late sometimes and also people mostly check their phone only every 10-30 mins, not right away.

Also according to the Log entries, they had their Mechanical parts grafted on while the person was still alive while being exposed to Argent Energy, so when they expired they still retained some knowledge on how the parts worked, but of course they were just corpses with rockets at that point.
