Electronics are water proof. Ran one of mine (with the upgrade electronics and 2s battery) under water for probably a total of 20 or so minutes on the beach. It was mostly my youngest driving it under water, and he had a blast. All the electronics were just fine, except the motor that I probably should have service a bit after the underwater running :p. Put in a new motor and everything was just fine. I have put a bigger motor in mine now, 050 SCX24 motor instead of the 88t 030 from the upgrade kit. Needed a bit of modding to fit the motor, but seems to work decently so far. I bought two of these, the Defender and Jimny lokking ones, on sale last year for 35-ish Dollars each, including shipping. At that price it's a steal. Only thing that sucks a bit is that there aren't a lot of decent aftermarket parts for them. The official electreonics upgrade kit is pretty great though, stronger motor, separate (2s) esc and receiver (turbo racing) and stronger and faster three wire servo. They are the exact same as some of the FTX ones (and a few others). My understanding is that the Hobby Plus is the original, and those other ones are just rebranded versions - some with the same bodies, some with different ones.
I never did buy the CR-24. I still wanna get one just to have in my collection. They are cheap enough. i just have to stop buying everything else. LOL Great video!
These are sweet, and what lead me to scx24s. In pa they are branded as IMEX same box same truck, just different name. The tires are really grippy, the lights are cool too. It's a lil jerky sometimes. Ur vid and bullgears on these things, helped me alot, till i went down the scx24 rabbit hole. I put an scx24 esc and servo in mine and it flies now. Mine is now a back up and course decoration.
No, electronics are even better... and it is not an RGT. Have been there for ages, bought my first January 2020. However, both do have Turboracing radios, can change Rx and TX. I made a ton of videos comparing the 1/24 RGTs and Hobby Plus.

This is basically a RGT v2 but with worse electronics and a less scale looking body.
I never got a chance to see a “V2” RGT dang, I thought this was surprisingly good for the price

, v1 central motor. V1 is ECX Barrage, v2 Element Enduro.
