    I’m 15 weeks pregnant and have bleeding from a Subchorionic hemorrhage and the hospital sent me home on bed rest. They did a quick bedside ultrasound good hearts, lots of movement. They did blood everything came back normal including my beta levels being at 93,000

    I got diagnosed about 3 weeks ago with a subchorionic hemorrhage. One episode of red bleeding and then the last 3 weeks have been brown spotting. Thankfully the hemorrhage isn’t touching the placenta.

    Hi thank you for everything you do. My daughter just had her 3rd ultrasound. 8weeks 2 day Baby is doing well, growing normally and Hr is 172. She has had 3 bleeding episodes and her hematoma has grown since her last ultrasound. I noticed the baby’s G sac is irregular in size. It’s concerning. Hi! I was diagnosed with this last week during my ultrasound. I’m 10 weeks right now. Last week it measured at 2.7 cm, and this week it measured at 1.7 cm. I have had no bleeding. Very small amount of brown discharge a few days ago. I have a flight next week to Mexico, and the nurse said the doctor recommended I don’t fly but I have an appointment with the doctor later this week. This is an important trip. Does traveling really have an affect with this diagnosis?
    I should mention my son was born premature 6 years ago at 34 weeks. I wasn’t diagnosed with anything for that one, the placenta just ruptured randomly. Thank you 🙏

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking! The fact that this was diagnosed on ultrasound and that it has gotten smaller is good. However, the recommendation for you not to fly is accurate. Changes in pressure and altitude can affect our bodies in all sorts of ways. Given that an abnormality has been identified, it is best to receive clearance from your provider prior to flying. However, I would call the office manager and explain the situation. Ask if another provider in the office can see you or if they can squeeze you in. Perhaps your provider can review the ultrasound and provide a recommendation without an official appointment. Check with them. Good luck!

Though it says "small" its larger than the baby (9mm) right?? Or how is it considered small, medium or large?? I am taking progesterone injections twice a week and tablets too.. I have no bleeding..

    This was very Informative, thank you. At my NT scan today the doctor noticed a 5 cm clot in my placenta. I haven’t bled or experienced cramping, so I am not sure of the severity of the situation. The doctor definitely said this meant I was at risk for a miscarriage. Though things could just be fine and they will know better at my 20th week ultrasound. They said I don’t need to do anything or be on any medication. I am worried, specially cz the next screening is almost 7 weeks away.

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for sharing! This can be very scary and I am sorry you are so worried. Your doctor sounds very good. You are at risk for miscarriage however many times these things go away. They are just reabsorbed by the body and have no negative effects for you or baby. In the meantime, your doctor is also correct. There is no medication or specific thing you can do to make the clot disappear. This can definitely leave you feeling powerless however I do have something you can do!
      It may sound cliché but stress is very damaging to our bodies. In the next 2 months, focus on de-stressing and good health choices. Try to walk every day because it will release endorphins which reduce stress. Drink plenty of water. Get sunlight every day. Make sure to treat yourself at least once a week and possibly even daily to lighten your mood. Treating yourself does not need to cost money. Listen to your favorite music one day. Watch your favorite TV show another. Take a nap. Take a bath. As far as purchases, your favorite takeout. Your favorite flowers. Your favorite coffee. Spend time with family and friends. These things will not take away your fear but it may lessen it. Anything that makes you feel even a little better will absolutely help you, your baby, and the body to heal. Good luck!

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking! I'm glad to hear you are not seeing any blood. That is always the best and what we want during pregnancy. Many hematomas or subchorionic hemorrhages go away on their own. The smaller the hematoma, the better the outcome however, the size is relative to the size of the baby so "small" "medium" and "large" change daily. Pain is something to pay attention to. Pain is our bodies way of telling us something is not quite right. However, not all pain is serious. For example, a sore muscle after a workout simply says you exercised the muscle more than it was used to. While a sore back after lifting a heavy box might mean you strained your back and you should rest. Definitely make sure your healthcare provider is monitoring your pain. However it could be round ligament pain, which happens as the uterus gets bigger and your body adjusts to carrying the extra weight of your baby. Rest lots. Stay hydrated with water. For now, the next few weeks are important. Good luck! Sending you lots of love and light.

    I was just diagnosed with SCH today. I had pain and sharp shooting pains into my vagina and that's how we found it because I took an er trip. They haven't given me any measurements or anything like that I'm 15 weeks 3 days today. I was confused when you said there's no symptoms except bleeding. Am I just one out of a million case or am I more likely to lose my baby due to the pain? I'm terrified

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking. I'm sorry to hear this is happening. It sounds very scary. Those pains could actually be round ligament pain. They can also be caused by the baby kicking your bladder or be the start of a UTI. Everyone is different and you could be a rare person that has pain with a SCH but I suspect that was just found by coincidence. I would follow up with your healthcare provider. Feel better!

    @ the maternity mentor- my wife had ultrasound yesterday and doctor confirm that she is 6 weeks 3 days pregnant. The gestational sac measures 1.29 cms and featal pole exits with CRL 0.53 cms and can hear heartbeat. However doctor mentioned that there is 8mm SCH located and she asked my wife to have bed rest and continue with progesterone tablets. Can you please share your thoughts on the condition? Is the SCH small? As on today she doesn’t have any spotting or bleeding or any cramping.

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking. Subchorionic hemorrhages are very common. There is a much better chance of a good outcome when they are found prior to a women experiencing symptoms. The size is relative to the gestational weeks. At 5 weeks 8mm is larger, at 16 weeks its smaller. This is because the placenta and baby grow as the pregnancy progresses. The way to determine for sure is to measure the SCH in comparison to the baby. Follow your healthcare provider's advice and have your wife rest. This should help. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

      Thanks for asking! Ultimately you need to ask your doctor, but in my experience the answer is NO. You need to be resting and relations are not resting. Additionally, the motion can cause contractions that can stimulate the uterus and cause increased bleeding.

      Thanks for asking. Subchorionic hemorrhages are usually no issue during a pregnancy. If you notice any bleeding, you should contact your healthcare provider immediately so they can check on the SCH. That being said, many go away on their own. Good luck!

      Thanks for asking! You should definitely continue the injections. They are very important right now for the health of the pregnancy. I suspect the smell is because of morning sickness. This is a very common symptom, especially in the first trimester. She needs to eat small meals and drink small amounts many times per day. Ask her doctor if she can use Vitamin B6. This can help with nausea. Good luck!

    Do I need to bed in SCH or pelvic rest?

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for asking. Ultimately, your healthcare provider can answer that question because they have access to the ultrasound report. However, generally speaking pelvic rest is recommended until the hemorrhage resolves or the pregnancy gets further along. However, bed rest is rarely recommended any more. Bed rest puts you at risk for blood clots and pneumonia. Our bodies require movement to stay healthy. Your provider, however, may want you to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting. Good luck!

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for asking! Yes - usually if you go from red blood to brown blood that is a sign of resolving bleeding. Hi, I am currently 6 weeks 2 days pregnant, have been having spotting every day since 4 weeks pregnant. Ultrasound has been done at 5 weeks and ectopic pregnancy is ruled out. Iam waiting for a follow up ultrasound at 8 weeks. Please answer if iam going through sub chorionic hemorrage.

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking. I am very sorry to hear this has been happening. Spotting every day can be caused by a subchorionic hemorrhage among other things. The progesterone may help with the bleeding but it takes a little while. Some women spot for awhile during the first trimester. Make sure you are resting and drinking plenty of water. Staying hydrated reduces uterine irritability. Take it easy and don't life heavy objects or perform strenuous activities. I have a video on other cause of first trimester bleeding that I would recommend you watch: th-cam.com/video/9AcchW0hepY/w-d-xo.html
      In the meantime, I would ask your healthcare provider if they can run a HcG blood test to confirm you are still pregnant and that your levels are rising. Rising levels is a good sign despite any bleeding you may have. At 5 weeks, the ultrasound may not have been able to pick up a subchorionic hemorrhage so be sure to ask them about it at the 8 week ultrasound. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

      Thanks for asking! That seems pretty small to me however I cannot say for sure because there are many factors to consider. The major 2 being your gestational age and the size of your uterus. As your uterus grows the SCH can actually decrease in size making it less of a risk. I also want you to know that SCH diagnosed via ultrasound only pose far fewer risks than those that are diagnosed with symptoms. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

    Hi, I was diagnosed with SCH two weeks ago, it’s very small but caused spotting and bits of cramping. The spotting resolved in a day but now I have spotting again with little cramping. What do you suggest I do? Also, I am on progesterone 200mg every day. Also I’m at 7w6d

      Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done. You should be resting and drinking plenty of water. Be sure to let your healthcare provider know the spotting has resumed because they may want to examine you. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

    Hello dear on my 7th weeks suddenly I started pain and bleeding hospital did scan and said my hormones level are very poor so they gave me another scan for this Friday. My question is I did pregnancy test at home after stoped heavy bleeding and the results are showing I am pregnant but very light line pls tell me what to do 🙏

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for asking. Definitely go for the next scan. It could be 1 of 2 things. First, it could be that the cause of the bleed is resolved but the pregnancy remained. It couls also mean that you have miscarried but there are still enough hormones in your system to test positive. The scan can help determine which scenario is true. Sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

    Hi mam. This is my 6th week.my lmp was dec 8. I'm experiencing very very light spotting (like a dot) for more than a week (from dec 13) I thought i would get my period soon. As it went same for six days, I took a pregnancy test on jan 18, it was positive by God's grace. My first scan of 42 nd day reported as "minimal subchorionic bleed noted".My gynec gave me progesterone injection and tablets. I can see the spotting reducing day by day. Will it heal by this month or it will cause any serious problm.

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking! Subchorionic hemorrhages can be completely normal during pregnancy. They are commonly found on ultrasound and usually get smaller over time. Many women will have a completely normal pregnancy and deliver a full term healthy baby, even if bleeding is involved. It is important to follow your healthcare provider’s advice and always notify them of any changes including spotting and bleeding. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

    • @TheMaternityMentor

      Thanks for asking! SCH is bleeding caused by a tear in the placenta or sub chorion. A threatened abortion is when a miscarriage is suspected to be occurring. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

    Hi, im at week 7 and I went to the ER yesterday and my ultrasound found there is a 2.0 x 1.2 x 0.9cm perigestational hemorrhage. Baby was measured 6 weeks and 6 days with a heart rate of 152bpm. bleeding was heavy like I wet my pants at first but it's gone down. OB at the hospital advised me that I have a threatened miscarriage. They advised there's nothing I could do but wait. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you.

    • @TheMaternityMentor

      I'm sorry to hear this is happening. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but wait. Sometimes this will resolve and sometimes it ends in miscarriage. I would rest and drink plenty of fluids. If you develop a fever or pain, you need to contact your healthcare provider. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

      Thanks for asking. I am sorry to hear this is happening. There are not any other medications that will really help with bleeding. Some women bleed throughout their pregnancy. If your baby is growing properly, then that means the placenta is functioning well and the baby should be fine. The concern would actually be your health. Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamin daily and ask your healthcare provider if you need to be taking iron. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

      Thanks for asking! SCH changes in size as the pregnancy progresses. It is normal to feel nervous when it is found on ultrasound but they are very common. As long as you are not having symptoms, you and your baby should be fine. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

    Hi I am 7 Week and 4 days pregnant as per LSG and 6 Week 5 days as per USG and baby heart rate was 138bpm on my 2nd ultrasound. In this ultrasound they also found a SCH measuring 3.6X 2.6X 2.4 cm occupying 60-70% of the gestational sac. I also have a partial septate uterus measuring 2-2.5cm in length and 1.1 cm in thickness. My Gynac informed me that now the chances of the baby’s survival are only 30%. I am currently on Dydrofem twice a day. And doc gave me a injection of Proluton Depot 500. I have all had occasional spotting every 4-5 days. Please suggest me what to do. Should I continue this pregnancy or not.

      Thanks for asking. I am sorry to hear this is happening. There are definite risk factors that are occurring and its hard to say what is going to happen in the future. Continue to monitor your bleeding and let your doctor know if anything changes. As far as continuing your pregnancy, that is a very personal decision. I am on my 7th week, upon ultrasound they discovered 0.8cm x 1.3cm x 0.4cm (0.29cc) seen inferior to the gestational sac suggestive of SCH.
    I'm worried. :-(

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry to hear this and I understand how this can cause worry. Subchorionic hemorrhage is common in the first trimester. If it wasn't for modern technology, most women wouldn't even know they had one. The important thing now is to follow your healthcare provider's instructions. You should be resting. No heavy lifting. No heavy exercise. You probably shouldn't engage in sexual intercourse. Rest is NOT bed rest. It's just taking it easy. Subchorionic hemorrhage does increase your risk of miscarriage but miscarriage is not the only outcome. In the meantime, take care of yourself mentally. Enjoy some of your favorite things: music, food, shows. Spend time with your partner. Constant worry increases cortisol levels in the body which is not good for your pregnancy. I know this is easier said than done but do your best. I am sending you lots of love and light and healing thoughts.
