    4 months ago I got a steroid shot for my shoulder rotator cuff. After years of therapy and pain and not being able to lift heavy overhead I can finally do CrossFit again. I still feel a pinch. I honestly think if I was to get this it will help and possibly heal it 100%. I’ve never heard of this so thanks Dr Scott.

    May we have an update? How did this turn out for you? How's your shoulder function now? Have you repeated the procedure? Thank you. (I have a shoulder injury similar to yours that you describe in this video.)

    Hello Dr Scott, just found your channel and subscribed, I see your amazing young tennis player video then checked your channel then boom, next video(this one) exactly my issue.
    I've had tennis elbow since early 2019, leading to frozen shoulder since last September, I've had 3 steroid injections to fix my frozen shoulder which is much better, as I can now put my belt into my rear loop, I was booked to have this exact treatment on the day of the queen's funeral, so it was cancelled🥴, I was getting my first treatment for free in the UK as a student for the person who was teaching(same person who administered the steroid injections)
    I'm in so much pain around my AC joint / tendons, I need to use my opposite hand to lift my arm up when lying down.
    I was just wondering can this treatment be carried out if you have existing pain, and how many sessions are required to resolve this issue?
    Thanks in advance

      Yes it certainly can. Sometimes it will take 2-5 separate injections to get full resolution - depending on the severity of your conditiion. Thanks for commenting!

    I have a shoulder labral tear and a cyst on spinoglenoid notch and measures approximately 1.5 X 1.4 x 1.3 Cm. I was given a cortisone shot for pain and it has relived 95% of the pain, but the cyst is definitely pressing up on my nerve cashing severe pain when i didn't have cortisone. Doc suggested shoulder surgery but i cant do that RIGHT now. seeking to try Ultrasound-guided cyst aspiration... then we can talk surgery but i'm cannot do surgery right now. I think i'll try PRP.

      Did you get this done? I also have cysts in my shoulder along with a labrum tear. If you did it how did it go?

    I have to have an ultrasound on my shoulder because my shoulder strain and slight rotator cuff strain is not improving. My physical therapist thinks I might have a supraspinatus tear and he's glad that I have the ultrasound on Wednesday. If something shows up, as much as I dislike needles I'd probably want prp.

      @@ScottHoar my ultrasound was fine. Just the biceps tendonitis showed up but I knew I had that already. My rehab Dr (it's work injury) said steroid injection is next possible thing once the second opinion stuff is done. I had that second opinion Thursday.

    Got one today in my right shoulder but they injected it in one spot. Is that typical?

    • @ScottHoar
      @ScottHoar  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sometimes it’s just one spot. Lots of practitioners are starting to do more though.

  • @AM2K2

    how much is it?

    • @ScottHoar
      @ScottHoar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It ranges from $300-$600 depending on where you get it

    If you don't draw at least 50-60cc's of blood you don't get enough platelets ... also you have to inject in ONE spot. I also don't think that was a double spin centrifuge process. Also, have to guide with ultrasound - she doesn't have x-ray vision. This was a great video on how NOT to perform PRP.

      Thanks for your input!, Although this is not a HOW-TO video to perform PRP, that is not the intent of the video but again appreciate your feedback!

    I had a torn labrum and had bicep tenodesis surgery along with Osteolysis of Right Distal Clavicle 6 months ago. I haven't returned to work yet as I have a very physical job. I feel like I'm about 60-70% healed. Should I get prp?
