  • That storm. There is no way I would go to the mountains on a day like this. Am I done with TET? Looks like I have time just hammer forward as straight as possible.

Nemo, I agree with your ideas on body armor in hot weather. I try to wear full armor as much as possible, but at a certain point when it gets to the high 20's I just cannot stand how hot and miserable I am. I try not to do super challenging trails at these times and go slowly when I have to drop the chest protector when riding. There is always a balance and you have to accept risk in the ride to not feel terrible the whole time. I was in the mountains of central Italy this summer and it was in the mid 30's every day. There was just no way to wear that chest protector and I am even looking for shoulder and elbow protector that is not a shirt type as that was hot as well. Thanks for your great videos. I hope I see you on TET some time. I will hopefully have my PR7 next year as well. Cheers, GS Jack

Thanks. I think that comfort level while you are riding is the most underrated thing in all motorcycling experiences. Sometimes I'm looking at guys riding with full leather clothing on and it's like 35 degrees Celsius...Man, I think I would rather stay home, but, that's my choice. Good luck with your PR7 in the future!

Hi, (I don't know your first name?)
Thanks for your friendly & informative video again !
Funny; to do my autumn trip now, I also have to choose between my Toucan or SG-12 boots. I hear your thoughts about Gore-Tex staying wet inside, but I'm still in doubt because I'm expecting more rain than you (autumn season...) and as long as water/rain does not enter via the top, the Toucans should keep my feet dry... I hope... and the Toucans are a lot more comfortable to walk in than the Gaerne's... the luxury of decisions, decisions 🙂 Maybe safety first; SG-12 plus Gore-Tex socks would be a perfect compromise.
I do want to wear some POD K8 knee braces.
Anyway, safe travels and take care!

Hey, Peter, even a lot of my friends calls me Nemo, since my young days, so that's the name I introduce myself as well (used to be Captain Nemo, but now the fish ruined my name 😅😅)
So talking about the boot choice, You know better what kind of roads you are taking, but I would never wear my Toucans to TET. Remembering my falls in Estonia or Hungary and I've heard too many horror stories even with Alpinestars Tech 7 (and they have a much higher protection level than Toucans). Not trying to talk you into anything, but G12 with Goretex socks or maybe even plastic bags on heavy rain days sounds like a good idea. But for regular travel, I will wear my Toucans for sure.
Enjoy your trip, and I will have to make my more than 5K km in less than 10 days now.

Hi Nemo, Ohlala, that are a LOT of miles! Drive carefully... or... in stead of doing a boring return trip, maybe put the bike on a train? It's relatively cheap and saves highway wear and tear on your bike! Drive safe.

Follow the prices every time you refuel, but also everyone else so that I have an understanding of the fuel prices in different countries. We in Norway are particularly good at complaining about high fuel prices, but it is true, they often vary by up to 10-20% from the cheapest to the most expensive. But if you look at the prices in Europe and the UK, it's not that different. Where you refuel now, the price for 95 octane is NOK 24.35 per litre. It is actually a high price in Norway. If we look at the normal salary level in Norway compared to European countries, we earn much more than everyone else. I want to be able to afford 10 liters of fuel with my hourly salary after tax. The fact that fuel is somewhat cheaper in Lithuania and Latvia and other countries is not cheap for those who live there, but for us who come from high-cost countries, it will be cheaper. The same goes for a pint of beer.
In fact, the last place you refueled, the price was NOK 25.93 for a litre.
I probably have ten counting tent places in my garden, and for €22 I want to be able to offer both cold and hot water, WiFi toilet and shower, of course when I'm awake. Will of course also be able to offer the sale of the best quality beer from my fridge if it is of interest, perhaps until the authorities had discovered my little business secret.

You are going to like the price of fuel in Andora, cause I really loved it :D
OK, I did not see anything about your little business :D

@@nemoltu There is probably no danger that my garden adventure will develop into anything more than a wild thought, which arose when I saw what you paid to sleep under a tree.

Yes they work. I have had a pair for quite a few years to use on the road. I bought them off eBay but unfortunately they are a bit tight on my feet, I really need a larger size. My off-road boots are already waterproof but one has started leaking so I am searching for a new pair.

Easy hack for the shoes, just wear a pair of plastic bags on your socks while you riding in the rain :)

    • @nemoltu
      @nemoltu  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Svx, Karoli, I know that hack, but I did not have an idea that the rain was going to hammer like that and after a few minutes you are swimming, especially with such a short suit pants :D all the water penetrates through my boot ventilation holes. Another thing, you cant wear bags when it's not raining, so it;s a solution, but not the best as we know.
