Looking at the current state of movies and TV, I think more studios should "leak" their scripts online before sinking millions of dollars into bad ideas. Give me that high-budget live action Ben 10 movie though.
Ideas aren't the issue, it's execution. Most scripts, by design, aren't rife with material, it's a bare bones blueprint. Plenty of great scripts suffered during production and others were bad scripts turned into great films (Star Wars). Execution is everything. Many multimillion dollar films work just film, people just prefer to look at the misses over the hits.
You need people who are actually passionate and have knowledge of the project they are trying to create. Like don’t just have some writer or director who’ve never watched a Cartoon Network show create an animated or live action movie.
I don’t think a live action KND would’ve worked, but an animated theatrical movie would’ve went hard. I wish Generator Rex and Symbiotic Titan were bigger. I always felt like they could support live action adaptations.

still can't believe those were supposed to be the costumes for the live action. would've been nice to see their individual styles evolve along with their ages, while still being faithful to the og characters, bc they're supposed to be adults here. but no, they went with the most boring and predictable route. and not even gonna bitch about the writing, that's a dead horse on its own

when i was younger i made a fake poster for the live action knd movie and made 2 or 3 people think it was actually finally happening, lol. so many of these would not actually work at all in live action though and i think it’s interesting that the basic amalgamation of these ideas was a live action fusionfall mmo movie being greenlit for exactly one day before immediately being cancelled 😭

I think the reason they do this. is because they try to break the stigma that animation is for kids, and they try to branch out into the live action crowd and see if they will like the property being that these are most likely people that would have never given a cartoon a chance. See it happen all the time for comics, and it actually ended up working out. Problem is it seems like cartoons don't have talented visionaries like james gunn, or zack snyder, that can translate these properties into live action well.
