Thanks! I thought these more in depth style coaching videos were missing a little from youtube and a lot of useful details tend to be missing from tutorial videos. They are a bit longer but I feel like if i’m going to try and teach something then why rush over it 😊
@@MHTableTennis By the way, this "modern" way to hit is in complete contradiction to the way you present in your tutorial "forward loop against backspin". You could, "yes, but here is about serve, while there...", but for the serves the whole body should be involved as well etc. It is not a reproach. I am grateful for your time. And you explain quite important and detailed nuances. But one can not apply to different methods to the body mechanics.
About the wrist- I almost injured it because everyone was saying snap the wrist, I understand now it is fingers. I can't snap my wrist anymore- will end up in cast. This is great new generation info, available nowhere else
About the myth of the ball going "all the way across the racket" - check out a super slow motion video, the point of contact does not drag across, it's just a spot touch. th-cam.com/video/Qns48sQOeWM/w-d-xo.html I'm not criticizing your video, just wanted to share a curious fact.
Yea i'm aware, it's more of an exaggeration people use to explain things. It would be better worded to say the quality and speed of contact is best achieved by accelerating the most at the head of the racket. I think people just understand the concept more of the ball gripping the rubber more if it's shown that way as opposed to a flat contact. Very valid point though and also very correct.
@@MHTableTennis Actually, the guy in the super slow mo video says exactly what you have explained in your video -stiffening up the fingers/ tightening the grip at the moment of the ball touch increases spin. Looking forward to more videos from you, greetings from Lithuania!
Excellent video 🏓🏓
Love from India
This is very good. Really love how you break down TT stuff into the correct level of detail to make it understandable enough to practice it. thanks!

It works, the use of the finger and thumb squeeze on services really improved my spin however more-practice needed regarding the 3 spins.
very useful tip
Very good video, definitely many little things here and there that the common player doesn't notice. Thank you for the help!
Very subtle techniques indeed. I’ll try to follow your advice. Thanks
Thanks, very useful tips and you master good pedagogical qualities as a coach.
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so so much
Great content!

Thanks! 😁
Awesome Matt...Thanks for sharing..take care..
Thanks, I'm keeping isolated and safe. Plenty of time for more videos, aiming for 1 per day!
That's very nice from you...so nice explanations and very understandable...Kudos all..😉
Your video is amazing Matt. But I want to suggest One thing. How about you start the video with some skinny serves then describe about it.
I prefer to explain before demonstrating, I get what you mean though - more of a kind of visual icebreaker to introduce the video.
great stuff. thanks for sharing the trade secret !
Appreciated :)
Greetings form Mexico city, your explanation was very cool, great advice, Thanks a lot!
🐯🏓
Thanks for the feedback, more to come!
To make a poin you should demonstrate a spin with ALL parts put together exsept fingers as compared with a spin with the same plus fingers.
Breaking it down as shoulder, elbow, wrist and finally fingers is essentially the same demo, but yes it probably would have been good that way too :)

Yes it's not good to put so much stress on the wrist. I remember that phrase 'snap the wrist', seems almost literal! Haha
You should have a dedicated mic
Yea, that would be ideal, but I made these in my basement during lockdown 😅

I've always though it was a myth. That video is a perfect demonstration for that.
