What is the big deal? Patterson is said to be a fine Author and his intention was clear. Whatever he came up with was going to be fine.

Captain Cook " discovered " Hawaii ? 😂 There were people, native Hawaiians living there. How can he discover a land where other people are in it ?

People from the outside world had never visited. Most native Hawaiian had never left Hawaii.
