Like most of the world, I've loved McCartney and the Beatles since I was a child. His music - and theirs - is timeless and that's been made obvious knowing that our children and grandchildren still love listening! Laura Carney's story is so inspiring and her courage is amazing. Her dad must have been amazing, too, to have had the presence of mind to make such a list when he was so young. So happy for Laura that she finished the list and found out so much about herself!

Its amazing to think he would be bothered taking all those photos when there was so much else going on. Still, I never cease to be amazed by Paul. He always held true to his working class roots and was not a social climber. He really held yo this by sending his kids to the local comprehensive (state funded) school in Sussex. All his more so called rebellious peers, Bowie, Jagger, were sending theirs to the top private schools. It was an honourable thing for Paul to do and great credit to his kids for handling it, as they said they had a hard. Also security is less so kid napping could be a problem.

From what I've heard and seen, these are not pics from the Beatles 1964 US Tour, as many sources -- including this CBS News report -- have incorrectly stated.
Their 1964 North American Tour (it included five Canadian shows) began in mid-August and spanned much of the continent for the next month or so.
The "arrive at JFK Airport," Ed Sullivan, Carnegie Hall, "train ride to D.C. for their first-ever American concert," and shots from the Fab Four's stay at the Deauville Hotel in Miami are all photos from the band's first American VISIT earlier that year, from February 7 to 22.
    Not a tour:
    2/7: Arrival at JFK
2/9: Iconic live TV debut on Ed Sullivan
2/10: Train ride from NYC to DC
2/11: First US concert in Washington
2/12: Return to NYC for Carnegie Hall concert
2/13: Fly to Miami for "holiday" (American vacation) and second Sullivan TV appearance
    2/22: Fly home to London
Unfortunately, this journalistic sloppiness is all over the place. One major mainstream report claimed the "final" Beatles record Paul mentioned in a recent interview would be the band's first new single since "Let It Be."
    Really?

Another great photographer was Sen. Barry Goldwater. He took beautiful photos of the Arizona desert.

Colonel Parker forbade any photos that day...there's an interview of Paul by Charlie Rose on TH-cam....the Beatles had tried for almost 2 years to meet Elvis, but he was always busy making hit movies and records....but finally they got to meet him at his mansion.....Paul tells Charlie Rose "We just stared at him in silence....he was tall, he was slim, he was handsome, he was ELVIS ! Finallly, he said ''If ya'll boys are just goin' ta gawk at me, ah'm goin' up ta bed!"....his joke broke the ice, everyone laughed, and they had a great visit...though George later said he was surprised there was no liquor or drugs in the house that he could sees....just bottle of ice-cold Coca Cola....

@@essessessesq I was aware of this and Tom Parker and much of Elvis' life. Just saying it was a shame, because although there were no recordings, film or photos, what would Parker have done if Paul just pulled out his camera! Secondly there are a lots of missed chances with Elvis. Thirdly there are actually photos of Elvis and Beatles outside the Hollywood home albeit distant and grainy.

@@ROCKINGMAN yes, the Beatles later said they wished a recording had been made of their jam session with Elvis as Elvis was playing his Fender electric bass guitar....John later saw Elvis perform at a packed Madison Square Garden and in the mid 1970s George saw him in Vegas and got backstage....during the Anthology TV series, George said "his dressing room was enormous and full of visiting celebrities. He looked magnificent, tall, grandly costumed, black hair piled up above his head. I felt like a snotty-nosed little kid and i sqweeked "hello, elvis, remember me? we met ten years ago" I don't think he even knew who i was as an individual, but he was polite and friendly" Ringo said ''meeting Elvis was the high point of my career."

I hope that CBS realizes that they featured a young John Lennon in the photo panel to the left of the older Paul? I mean - you did, didn't you? They even hold their guitar/bass in opposite directions for gosh sakes. You'd think after 60+ years they'd get that right!

Rather ironic that this series is titled Here Comes the Sun when it's the title of. a very fine George Harrison song off of Abbey Road that eclipsed all of McCartney's songs on that album. Especially knowing that McCartney blocked Harrison's songs whenever he could because he considered him far inferior to himself and John.
