    Absolutely love Giles! He's great in everything he's done, especially with Sue Perkins in the Supesizers. But this one with Giles fulfilling his childhood dream with his favorite movie, Rocky, and dressed like Rocky in the grey sweats, he is now the British-Italian Stallion! Yay! Yo Adrian!

    9:46 buildin and street look very clean and well kept. I was in downtown Phila. at night in the eighties for a convention. I counted average of 80 seemin bits of chewin gum or other similarly lookin wads on each square of the sidewalk.

    8:28 This is very rare. Very rare indeed. You get extra credit for not makin a mistakin that I expected you to make. You used an adverb where an adverb was required, "wrongly". 10 points extra credit. 8:40 those points are again deducted for usin an adjective where an adverb was required. Net is minus 2 points.

    2:46 My great uncle's children did not resemble him. They resembled Lat Jacoby, with the ashkenazic nose. South middle PA. Maybe Kate is kin to Lat? He would have been born about 1880-1890.

    I'd welcome the burnt toast. I usually get hot, dried-out bread that is definitelly NOT toasted.

    How Giles manages to eat so much without becoming ill, weighing 900 pounds, or just generally getting tired of food entirely is an utter mystery to me. The man must be blessed with an insane metabolism or have a ridiculous workout routine.

    Well he did complain he didn’t get the umami taste you’d get from something meaty while not dipping the radishes into the provided soy sauce which would’ve done that haha. Maybe they should’ve poured it on or told him to.

    • @michealpersicko9531
      @michealpersicko9531 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right? I don't feel like it's intuitive enpough to know that you're supposed to dip it in there maybe they should just drizzle it over right before serving then to avoid that problem in the future. Also what kind of chef thinks its ever a good idea to watch and then scold a restaurant critic especially one with status like Giles? IDC if the food is good they would have lost the chance of a review based on that little reaction alone.

    No one in America knows who he is....So its not a Million DOllar anything........

    • @wallacetf
      @wallacetf 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      nor do they in Britain...

    • @SophieJackson1993
      @SophieJackson1993 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      wallacetf They absolutely do in Britain. The dude critiques Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White & they all value his opinion. If that’s not impressive I don’t know what is. It’s a million dollar review because he’s critiquing restaurants in North America, clearly. So it IS a million DOLLAR review since it’ll provide DOLLARS to these AMERICAN restaurants. Only foodies who read the critiques will know who he is, just because you don’t.

      No one in America seems to respect anyone who isn’t American. You should be glad someone is bothering to highlight your food. Someone who isn’t American.
      It’s all well and good to say American things are amazing but until someone who isn’t American comes in and says it you are just rooting your own horn.

    Just picked up on this guy. Is he a cook? Been one all my life. Who the fuck is he because he has a palate. Get behind the line, I'll respect your opinion.

    • @Angelicwings1
      @Angelicwings1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of food critics aren’t cooks but they know their food. Not all art critics are artists either.
      I’m certainly not a chef but I when I eat good food I know it just like when I see a good film or listen to good music.
      It wouldn’t bother you so much if he were American.

    Constantine....sorry you've had some difficult customers that obvs made you but this up, but to inflict this on most customers who don't deserve this BS note, makes people not feel welcomed. take it down! most people know who to act in an restaurant, and to post this sign, it puts 80 percent off of coming in. we DO know how to act in a restaurant, but this sign makes up all feel like cretins. aka - "the customer isn't always right......"

    • @DerPafferfish
      @DerPafferfish 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's just the populated version. In retail, internally, the saying is "the customer lies".
      I like it. He's a straight forward guy with a straight forward menu. What you see is what you get. It may not be the popular choice and I would not put up such a sign myself but that's what running your own business is about - he thinks that way and wants the potential customers to see he does. It's honest. If you'd skip his place because of that, I could perfectly understand it. I think he'd be fine with that as well.

      The customer is never right ...actually ..because if he is right then he can just do it himself no waiting for masterly expertise ..maybe that is why america is a shit hole today ...but the real thing is that we the Mediterranean peoples ...have another saying > give the job to the most skilled or get shit < (quick translation ) ...that is why culture and mastery of arts started there ... in the Mediterranean area ,,,so you have an answer there ....
