The Goldmask ending isn’t just restoring what came before. Corwhyn constantly claims that Goldmask must have gone mad with blasphemous thoughts after he discovers the truth of Radagons identity. When you read his mending rune it says something along the lines of an order without the fickle will of any gods. Goldmask is removing the greater will (and probably other gods) and their influence from the world, allowing you to become an Elden lord that isn’t a puppet of some god. The greater will isn't a outer god and is never described as one. Also the greater will is not part of the golden order. The golden order follows the principles of the greater will but it doesn't have direct connection to the greater will. The greater will is basically the will of the universe. The golden order is connected to the elden beast which is a outer god. So what gold mask does is removes the influence that the outer gods had over the world. Gold mask finds out that the golden order isn't really following the greater will like they claim to be. The dlc expands on this idea with metyr who mentioned that she hasn't been in contact with the greater will since the elden beast landed. Aka he makes the world follow the will of the universe and follow the laws of nature compared to the agenda of a outer god.
Mohg shared his omen blood with miquella, in an attempt to grow him into his own consort for his dynasty. This "accursed blood" was what was needed for miquella to enter the land of shadow, which is why it is also the access point for us to transport there as well. So Mohg wasnt an arbitrary pick "hoping for someone to come along and kill him", miquella could access the realm of shadow by charming mohg to kidnap and share his blood with him
So is omen blood and hornsent blood the same thing? Or are they separate things tied together by the crucible? What does this mean for Dungeater's ending? Does Gold Mask know his dlc lore particularly when it comes to Metyr when mending the golden order?
@@gublaman Omens are just Hornsent that are mysteriously born within the Grace of Marika (Base game). They are called Omens because they are a reminder of what happened in the past and what the future could be.
That is true but I still find it odd that Miquella was essentially waiting for someone to kill Mohg after he entered the land of Shadow, as he needed the body as a vessel for his consort... If no one came along and killed Mohg, Miquella's plan was screwed... And it's even more amusing that Mohg is in what seems to be the most out of the way, obscure to reach place in the entire lands between

@@rawgamesnippets9412 he sent Malenia after Radahn (because maybe Radahn was not cooperative, and that is why Malenia marched through Godrick), he didn't expect her to fail. My guess the plan was to use Malenia to kill Radahn and then Mohg as well, but Radahn was stronger than expected and Malenia nuked herself out of the equation. So it was not up to a random nobody to kill both, but his most trusted ally who actually happens to be the best fighter in the lands between. This makes sense for me, the plan just went sideways.
Fun fact: if you go by the lore of tower of suppression that is present right between the Lands Between and if you place the shadow realm map according to the description on the cloud in centre of the lands between, you will see the gap filled almost perfectly and the Shaman village is right beneath the Royal Capital Leyndal. All the divine towers in the Lands between also seems to encircle the tower of supression according to the map.
I always wondered why varre was the first npc you meet when you start the game but now it makes so much sense. Miquellas plan relies on you killing Mohg, and by placing varre where all tarnished end up in the lands between he leads you in the direction of mohgwyn palace. If every tarnished starts out at the first step one of them will eventually follow varre to Mohg and kill him
That would make sense if you weren't told to not use the relic until called upon. You weren't supposed to meet mohg until his dynasty was complete and varre just resented the golden order and turned on their own people in spite. Varre specifically states to not use it until called upon
One thing i can say, I think Mogh and Morgot were banished cause the Omen are more than likely related to Hornsent, which are the people who cut up Marikas people in her village and put them into jars
Yeah I think so too! I interpreted it as her growing up with the horns being seen as a blessing from the crucible. So naturally Marika would see it as a curse, and her getting children with the characteristics of the crucible might be a sign of its' influence seeping through her new order, which would probably scare and repulse her, so they were sealed away.
Sadly it is a pretty terrible summary with cause and effect switched around like crazy, wild speculations partly presented as fact and the timeline of certain events just completly out of whack. Its a nice write up but not much more.
It’s implied that part of the reason for Marika finally ordering Mesmer to kill the honrsent was due to the hornsent at some point cursing Marika and the golden order believers with the omen curse after she betrayed them. When they did this is not directly stated I think, but that in addition to her already large hatred for them is implied to be the reason.
Honestly, most of Marika's problems line up with some ancient society that she and Godfrey stomped down at some point or another. Messmer's Abyssal Serpent? Well, before Rykard moved in, there was an Ancient Serpent Cult living in Mount Gelmir that venerated and supported the God Devouring Serpent, so it probably got stomped, leading to Messmer's problems. The Omen curse has an obvious source, but the Scarlet Rot being the way it is can be traced back to Messmer torching the Church of the Bud, leading to Romina becoming the way she is now and the Rot taking on a new form.
39:50 Miquella is quite literally only one or two steps ahead of you the entire time… he’s at the Scadutree base where younsee the Avatar when you arrive at the Scadukeep and his Great Rune breaks.
I'm no expert but pretty sure there's lore about the previous rot vessel that was sealed in the Lake of Rot by the blue dancer. Also pretty sure Rellana LEFT her moon when she joined Messmer, and was later found by none other than Ranni.
I'm all for leaving some things unanswered and vague, but with this game, I'm honestly convinced, that even Miyazaki himself doesn't have most of the answers we're looking for.
yeah there was an interview he did that basically kinda confirmed that there's no "cannon" type story - a lot of it is vague and left open to interpretation. Miyazaki said he watches some lore videos and finds it interesting to see how people interpreted it
Thing is this is GRR Martin's fault. Every fromsoft game has always been vague but never the type to not actually answer, it was more of a, find it type of story telling not like Elden Ring where even if you find everything it doesn't answer shit. I'd argue Miyazaki is a better lore maker than Martin, also what's with all the incest and miquella thing with Martin anyway?😅 And you know it's him adding it when all these years Miyazaki never added these types of plot points to any of his games. I wish Elden Ring was developed by Miyazaki alone and not with his interference
What made me happy with the dlc is that it made Marika much more of an interesting character. In the base game she was too vague. Also Messmer, his bossfight, his knights, his legacy dungeon, his lore. All of them are s tier in my mind
I love how godfrey calls himself the FIRST elden lord. It perfectly fits with the narative of the order of light trying to delete the acient history. When new mondarchy was established on dust of other, always the XXX the first came into play. Nothing say that you are the first "new normal" better then that hahaha
I've watched many, many videos to claim to explain the lore to this game. Some 2 hours long, some 4 hours long. They all confused me even more that i already was. This video is the first one that gives me some actual understanding of what this game is actually about!! So thank you. From a non gamer that just likes stories ❤
I have no proof, but I feel like it would make sense to suggest that both Marika and Radagon were both shamans, and its how they were able to seemlessly switch between bodies.
Great video! But I wanted to point something out: it's confirmed in item description that Messmer was an older brother to Radahn, so he was born before or while Radagon was still married to Rennala. So probably Messmer crusade happened while Godfrey was still Elden Lord (maybe it's the whole reason why Godfrey lost his grace, since he had crucible knights as his personal guards and was close to Morgott - it seems he had no problem with the crucible). We're still not sure who was Messmer's (and Melina's) father. Maybe it was Godfrey himself and their red hair is due to the duality that Marika was suffering when she was split into Radagon or maybe it was Radagon himself in an extramarital relationship while Marika was still married to Godfrey - another potential reason for him losing his grace.
Don’t forget the wandering Mausoleums and graves also have the bodies of Marika’s soulless children that she abandoned. So in reality she’s got like 20+ kids
That's honestly never confirmed... It's more likely that it may just be other members of the golden bloodline. Like Godrick and Godefroy. Godwyn's children and grandchildren and great grandchildren etc. Since Godrick is described as a distant relative.
I saw another video that is hypothesizing that those are actually us, the tarnished because on the beginning video the walking mausoleums can be heard.
Great video, a few notes: the crucible is akin to the primordial soup, but made of flesh, where all life was born from, and it wasn’t just horns that were associated with them but also wings, spikes, tails, etc, all present as “aspect of the crucible” incantations Regarding fingers, I find it funny that 2 are holy, 3 are blasphemous but 5 are the amount of humans and most bosses The trolls are descendent of the defeated fire giants, and they communed with their god of flame through their eyes in the chest, that’s why trolls have holes in their chests where the eye should be and can’t use fire magic
47:00 Hard disagree, the age of order is a modified configuration made by goldmask which would remove the gods out of the equation. By changing it this way any physical holder of the elden ring would disappear removing the need for Empyreans to replace the current god. This would effectively make it so the greter will would have to immediately intervene when willing to do things or use the fingers as prophets to relay messeges to its followers so can do it instead. In short the perfect order would have turned the golden order into the current religions we have. Also the fingers would have a new found purpose in this configuration
Consort can and usually does mean spouse or romantic partner, but it can also just mean associate or partner in general (example from Merriam-Webster: "the criminal and his consorts"). So it's possible that Miquella is referring to that. My guess is that the word is used in the game precisely due to its possibility of being used in 2 different ways. DLC SPOILERS AHEAD!!! ==================== ==================== ==================== Personally I believe that Miquella is using it as the non-romantic variant due to the fact that he can make anyone love him anyways, and as such wouldn't really require a promise. I also believe that Radahn did make the promise of his own free will and in the DLC is still there of his own choice, mainly due to the fact that at one point in the DLC Miquella's Great Rune is broken and his spell on everyone is broken, which would include Radahn. Sure, after he come back out of the Gate of Divinity as a god, he might place Radahn under his spell again, but that only happens about a third of the fight in, meaning Radahn was at the very least waiting there for Miquella and protecting the Gate of Divinity of his own choice, and at that point I find it hard to believe he wouldn't go as far as actually being Miquella's consort of his own choice as well. As for Miquella's plan, it's far more complex than you seem to think. Nothing was truly left to chance. Radahn made a pact with Jerren to ensure that Radahn would get killed sooner or later, the only caveat being that it had to be an honorable death since he was a warrior. Mohg was also going to be defeated sooner or later as Miquella was guiding the Tarnished that we meet in the DLC to Mohgwyn palace. Malenia was also part of the plan, which is why she marched on Radahn in Caelid and attempted to kill him using her Scarlet Rot Bloom (and failed). It's also very likely that Mohg and possibly Varre were manipulated to allow for Tarnished to enter the Mohgwyn palace far easier than it realistically would've been. I mean, think about it, why would Varre be giving out a medal that teleports you to an underground palace that's otherwise only accessable from the Mountaintop of the Giants if at the same time he and Mohg don't want people to arrive there before the Mohgwyn Dynasty is established? And this kind of manipulation is very characteristic of Miquella where only small nuances are manipulated to make his influence undetectable, which we also clearly see in the NPCs in the DLC. The Hornsent still hates Tarnished and only puts up with them because they're serving under Miquella's banner. Sir Ansbach remains somewhat loyal to Mohg, or at the very least retains a certain level of respect for him, but still follows Miquella who has disrespected and disgraced Mohg with his manipulation. Even the fight between Malenia and Radahn was probably purposelly planned to happen at the time when the demigods were all fighting each other to get their great runes so as to make it undetectable that Miquella was planning anything. Mohg's kidnapping can also easily be chalked up to those same motives. Frankly, Miquella's plan was near perfect and the only mistake he made was not expecting that someone would possibly be able to defeat him and Radahn together. As for the timeline of Miquella entering the Land of Shadow, I believe this happens before we even arrive to kill Mohg. It's not unprecedented for a demigod's body to be alive but their spirit dead, or vice-versa, so it's possible that Miquella's body in the cocoon is technically alive, but his soul had already passed into the Land of Shadow. That does raise the question of how Miquella could've been discarding the "flesh of his body" throughout his journey in the Land of Shadow, but I think it's not really his "true" flesh and is more akin to the shadowy substance that we see the commoners in there made of. It could also be him severing his "ties" to his physical body, basically making it impossible for him to return to it unless he becomes a god. I think this has some evidence for it too since we never find any actual body parts of Miquella, but we do find St. Trina and Miquella's great rune that he discarded, in which case the lack of actual body parts would imply a more metaphorical or symbolic discarding of his flesh.
They missed an opportunity to have Rannie show up if you had completed her quest to help you fight Miquella and Radahn. Two Empyrean’s and their chosen simps.
It specifically states that he is awaiting the return of his god. He's even reaching towards the heavens in a spiral like the tower with the gate atop in the DLC.
@@CrusaderCitadel Right, but like the Spiral, that ‘god’ likely refers to the Greater Will or some outer dragon god. I just mean that Placi is a god/lord in the same way that Marika/radagon are.
Worth pointing out that the Erdtree is confirmed to have come from the Crucible, and item descriptions refer to the Crucible as "the Erdtree's primordial form"
I feel like your description of Goldmask's ending as "more of the same" is unfair. Goldmask removes Marika's influence over the Lands Between, quite possibly by convincing the Greater Will itself (though the DLC calls this into question, as the Mother of Fingers wasn't even talking to the Greater Will, so it seems odd that the Greater Will would talk to a random monk). Goldmask also indirectly destroyed the Golden Order (which holds at the core of its belief system that Marika is the one true god), but left the Elden Ring intact. In other words, he used admin privileges to make the Elden Ring a read only file, then killed himself so Marika couldn't get the password to his account. No more Shatterings.
I feel like when the Lands of Shadow were broken off and hidden (if that's true), Merika also did the same to Farum Azula. She knew the old Dragon Lord was sleeping there and placed Maliketh there to watch the portal and keep Destined Death away from the Lands Between. Melina simply found a loophole that her mom left which is her ability to teleport you places.
...false. She was an empyrean, same as Marika and the Gloam Eyed Queen. Marika "won" the candidacy to godhood, and Grandam resents her for it. Grandam even calls her a whore, implying Marika may have slept her way to the top.
@@youngbloodbanana3376actually this isn’t made up, i’m not certain that she’s an empyrean but she most definitely hates marika and did call her a whore

1:52 The Greater Will is NOT an Outer god, the Shadow of the Erdtree confirms this as well. The Greater Will CREATED all life and existence of the Elden Ring universe. The Greater Will is more Abrahamic God and less Cthulhu, that is why the other gods are called Outer gods, because they had no part in the creation of the universe. The Greater Will is a capital GOD, the Others are lower case gods.
@@LeonCamero Wow why am I only getting notifications of this now? Anyways yes that's one theory or they were form out of the mindless chaos that is well space. I absolutely love your storytelling style. It’s a lot how I like to and just feels more like you’re having a conversation then listening to a lecture. Both equally viable, but one feels more natural.
All of Marika’s cursed children have names that start with an M, Godwyn does not and was clearly the favorite because of it. The only question is, who was his father? Really?
Just wanted to say you did a great job making this video. Sure they might be a couple inaccuracies, but for someone who finished the DLC and was left wondering wtf happened is this it, your short, information packed and comedic video was top tier. Thanks so much man, appreciate you
One interesting thing of note is that it seems like Marika's people, the Shaman, were first the Numen. A race said to be from somewhere else. So the Hornsent may have just been xenophobic. Which is awful. But pretty common.
Or the description of numen being from another world just refers to the land of shadow. After Marika rose to godhood, it seems she used the elden ring to shift her and the hornsents home "continent" to a separate plane and after removing death from the ring, basically used the now transfixed landmass as a dumping grounds in place of an afterlife. I'll be honest tho, bc of Miyazaki's world building and design style, quite a bit of connecting pieces are missing in favor of ambiguity and interpretation thus leaving them more for gameplay reasons. How do we and the others get to the land of shadow? How did Miquella acquire Mohg's corpse? If he already left his body behind, how was Miquella divesting his flesh again at the crosses? I can usually ignore lore gaps as long as they don't have direct influence on gameplay and the played story.
This was an amazing video! My only note is that you can get the frenzied flame from the three fingers and burn the Erdtree, then complete Millicent's quest, and become cured of the flame to pick different endings and Melina would survive. But you never see her again, so I can see why this information didn't need to be mentioned.
The Erdtree civilization and Golden Order aren’t the same thing. The GO was created only after Marika sealed Destined Death, which was much later than the creation of the Erdtree, after the Gloam Eye incident. Afaik we don’t know if this happened during Godfrey’s tenure, but it’s likely this was either after his banishment or shortly before it. Godfrey is very much associated with the early Age of Plenty and Crucible, before the Erdtree becomes the golden spectral tree we know in the game. He technically might have been Lord for a short time during the early Golden Order, but he very much is not associated with it.
The intro for this video legit gave me chills. Radhan is so freaking awesome it doesn't make sense 😭 booting the game up again just to halt his advance one more time!
Just wanted to say, I'm not against the added comedy, it did make it more enioyable at times, but there was maybe 25% too many jokes. Espescially at serious story beats & things that require explanation.
This was such a well made video. Not only quality wise, but explanation wise. The concepts, as you mentioned in regard to the actual "Elden ring", are really weird and intricate. But the way you explain them along with the visual aid is extremely easy to understand and follow. Cheers!
It's pretty cool (for me) that I managed to complete Ranni's ending without guides on my first playthrough. I'm quite sure the other endings were available for me (except the frienzied flame), but I actually liked Ranni's views on how things should be. This is what inspired me to finish her questline, taking me almost 30 hours to complete.

This is easily my new favorite lore video around and I have watched EVERY THING from vaati to smoughtown and this is the easiest to understand most entertaining lore vide I’ve seen. Thank you.
So basically: Round 1: Frenzied Flame vs Greater Will Results: The individuation of life and FF ceaselessly trying to burn everything back together again. Round 2: Wyverns vs Dragons Results: both leaders being dismembered and a city permanently being suspended by a storm. Round 3: Hornsent vs Shamans Results: Divine Gateway made of shamans and assorted Hornsent bodies. Local shaman achieves apotheosis via the gateway with the assistance of a barbarian and an extraterrestrial. New shaman-lead empire established. Round 4: Erdtree grown out of Crucible does nothing to prevent people from being born with crucible features and top shaman is already losing her noodles. Results: The genocide of Hornsent and Fire Giants, the persecution and enslavement of everyone with crucible features, including the tarnished for occasionally having omen children. Radagon successfully dicks his way into a peace treaty with Carian royalty. Round 5: A Song of Gold and Shadow - A Game of Runes. Results: Outbreaks of Deathroot and Scarlet Rot, tarnished officially back in style, local god is put under house arrest. Local tarnished decides fate of entire realm.
Not even the worst video, but the need to take the spotlight and try to be too funny is completely out of place. It’s Elden ring, people don’t need hyuk hyuks to find this captivating.
Wow man I've just watched this video and I've just watched your " see you later" video. And man extremely well done for your first time doing this. Hats off to you man
Dropping a comment in the first two min. What you did showing a maxed out tarnished shrinking back to that speck of guidance from grace. This game is more than we deserve. 😅
Great video! Loved the editing and crediting of fan arts! I have a timeline problem with Melina / gloam eyed queen and destined death. The finger reader tells us the rune of death, aka destined death, is "the forbidden shadow plucked from the golden Order upon its creation". So if Melina is indeed the gloam eyed queen, which she does seem to be, and Mesmer is his older brother per his kindling's item description, they both should've been alive when Marika ascended and created the golden Order. It's also possible that the golden Order was created after Marika's ascension, but it was definitely way before Godfrey's war on the fire giants. I believe Melina and Radagon are the first childs of Marika, potentially from Radagon because they might had began (Radagon and Marika) as separate beings
I thought Miquella entering the egg like state ages ago allowed him to enter the land of shadow. Killing Mohg and Radahn just set into motion phase 2 of his plan where he brings Leda and company to protect him while he ascends with promised consort Radahn.
If you loved this game and the lore, try Bloodborne! It's also a Fromsoftware game and the lore is absolutely crazy. Also, amazing video! One of if not the best Fromsoftware lore video I've ever watched. I hope to see more!
From what I understood, Marika had plucked the rune of Destined Death first , then the Gloam-Eyed Queen got her hands on it and was using it to kill Gods. So Marika had sent Maliketh to get it back and guard it
Great job brother. I have only say the huge fire guys from dlc have heads of fire giants on them. That means they fight against fire giants and probably messmer join them..thats why fire giants copses are impaled. Love the effort to explain everything
frenzied flame ending is the best ending for the tarnished since your character got banned from the lands between then suddenly got called back to fight everyone in a world where literally everything wants to kill you so theres really no reason for your character to not want to erase this world from existence
One thing that completely passed me until I watched this was that Enir Ilim and Farum Azula both have that kind of spiral motif to them on top of having lore associated with them being in hidden places hiding a part of Marika and the world's past (Gate of Divinity and the Rune of Death). Sometimes I think we take for granted how small "that would be a cool little thing to do" moments creatives put into the games can have really interesting interpretations or add layers to whatever they create. This kind of stuff reminds me of Evangelion. You're never quite sure what is and isn't intended but hot damn is it good.
Honestly amazing writeup. I've always had the same question regarding Marika being alive or not in the ending and its crazy vague. The Sacred Relic Sword says a God that should have lived was used to make it, so either Marika/Radagon or the Elden Beast but that also begs the question how a dead person can house the Elden Ring and be a God at the same time. Confusing stuff to be certain. Its never made clear either way so who knows.
Damn this had to have taken a shitton of effort, thank you man. Although I was trying to get the gameplay story with the dialogues of all characters and the cutscenes of the gameplay without the hours and hours of gameplay to understand the story that unravels in the present, this does explain a lot 😂

Aka he makes the world follow the will of the universe and follow the laws of nature compared to the agenda of a outer god.
I think this is accurate
It is the best ending for the lands between.
That is true. No more outer gods interfirence.
Mohg shared his omen blood with miquella, in an attempt to grow him into his own consort for his dynasty. This "accursed blood" was what was needed for miquella to enter the land of shadow, which is why it is also the access point for us to transport there as well.
So Mohg wasnt an arbitrary pick "hoping for someone to come along and kill him", miquella could access the realm of shadow by charming mohg to kidnap and share his blood with him
OHHHHH
That is an awesome fun fact 😀
@@AriesLR_ I low-key feel like that's why mohg wanted to catch hands. He was like yo bro I told you to wait for a bit.
One thing i can say, I think Mogh and Morgot were banished cause the Omen are more than likely related to Hornsent, which are the people who cut up Marikas people in her village and put them into jars
right on. and they hated anything to do with the hornsent
@@NeddyTheNoodle Such a soulless curse the golden order did, to Mogh and Morgott. Cursed her children into the slayers of her own people 😂
Yeah I think so too! I interpreted it as her growing up with the horns being seen as a blessing from the crucible. So naturally Marika would see it as a curse, and her getting children with the characteristics of the crucible might be a sign of its' influence seeping through her new order, which would probably scare and repulse her, so they were sealed away.
Can’t say I was expecting this, but I will gladly take a lore summary for this collapsed library of a game
“Collapsed library of a game” is the absolute pinnacle of metaphors for this game 👌🏻✨ 10/10 my friend
Perfect metaphor
bro what a perfect metaphor 😂😂.
Sadly it is a pretty terrible summary with cause and effect switched around like crazy, wild speculations partly presented as fact and the timeline of certain events just completly out of whack. Its a nice write up but not much more.
Welcome to souls
The Dr.Disrespect face on Mohgs was absolutely foul💀😂
Pretty sure there wasn’t scarlet rot in Caelid until Malenia put it there.
I'm no expert but pretty sure there's lore about the previous rot vessel that was sealed in the Lake of Rot by the blue dancer.
Also pretty sure Rellana LEFT her moon when she joined Messmer, and was later found by none other than Ranni.
Also Miquella helped Freyja meaning he was there after the bloom

I'm all for leaving some things unanswered and vague, but with this game, I'm honestly convinced, that even Miyazaki himself doesn't have most of the answers we're looking for.
Either that or the translation issues are exceedingly bad.
@@NeddyTheNoodle Can confirm it is just as vague in Japanese
The stuff with Miquella is honestly just stupid. How does he abandon his flesh if his corpse is already stuck in the egg in Mohg’s palace?
yeah there was an interview he did that basically kinda confirmed that there's no "cannon" type story - a lot of it is vague and left open to interpretation.

I saw a 3 part lore series that totaled over 35 hours in length
I have no proof, but I feel like it would make sense to suggest that both Marika and Radagon were both shamans, and its how they were able to seemlessly switch between bodies.
that's such a good theory
😧
That's honestly never confirmed... It's more likely that it may just be other members of the golden bloodline. Like Godrick and Godefroy. Godwyn's children and grandchildren and great grandchildren etc.
Since Godrick is described as a distant relative.
I saw another video that is hypothesizing that those are actually us, the tarnished because on the beginning video the walking mausoleums can be heard.
And our tarnished might be one of these individuals due to clues from when they wake up
Vile strumpet 😂
Great video, a few notes: the crucible is akin to the primordial soup, but made of flesh, where all life was born from, and it wasn’t just horns that were associated with them but also wings, spikes, tails, etc, all present as “aspect of the crucible” incantations
Regarding fingers, I find it funny that 2 are holy, 3 are blasphemous but 5 are the amount of humans and most bosses
The trolls are descendent of the defeated fire giants, and they communed with their god of flame through their eyes in the chest, that’s why trolls have holes in their chests where the eye should be and can’t use fire magic
thanks for sharing! :)
2 finger + 3 finger = 5 fingered peoples. Could imply humanities ability to do good and create life or do evil and burn it all down.
Also, the classic Orthodox Christianity split between using two or three fingers was clearly an inspiration.
Only in a fromsoft title can you fight a space amoeba tree dragon to save a god woman from a tree
True and based
And you can do so dressed like a dancer wielding a finger on a stick.
Great vid but i think you missed a crucial part in the rise of the golden order, which is the war between them and the dragons
====================
====================
====================
Personally I believe that Miquella is using it as the non-romantic variant due to the fact that he can make anyone love him anyways, and as such wouldn't really require a promise.
That wouldn't of made any sense whatsoever tho
Never thought i'd see an Elden Ring lore vid from you, great vid too :D

Grandam is like a high priest. She's the crucible religion's version of finger readers. Not an empyrean herself.
...false. She was an empyrean, same as Marika and the Gloam Eyed Queen. Marika "won" the candidacy to godhood, and Grandam resents her for it. Grandam even calls her a whore, implying Marika may have slept her way to the top.

@@Rokkettdog We needed an ending where a golden haired bloke makes Marika great again.

8:34 Israel callout
Ton of work. Thanks for pulling it all together!
Technically, Godfrey is the First Elden Lord of his Order. He is the first Elden Lord of The Golden Order.

I can’t believe I watched the whole video! So well done.
This confirms how weird, crazy, I thought the story was after playing the DLC. 😮😂😢😊
I am glad you do some stuff with elden ring, for me, it is the best game of all time and the story is insanely good.
frenzied flame ending is the best ending for the tarnished since your character got banned from the lands between then suddenly got called back to fight everyone in a world where literally everything wants to kill you so theres really no reason for your character to not want to erase this world from existence
Best lore breakdown ever !!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Subscribed!!
welcome :)
Amazing summary and timeline walkthrough.
Nice video i really enjoyed it, i like the humor ngl 😄
Good to see a new voice enter this space. Well done
Thank you! Was a joy to check out this game :)
Wow, a funny and informational video.. never thought I would find one😩
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
Good funny vid nice change of pace
Honestly amazing writeup. I've always had the same question regarding Marika being alive or not in the ending and its crazy vague. The Sacred Relic Sword says a God that should have lived was used to make it, so either Marika/Radagon or the Elden Beast but that also begs the question how a dead person can house the Elden Ring and be a God at the same time. Confusing stuff to be certain. Its never made clear either way so who knows.
This was the best one I've seen
Damn this had to have taken a shitton of effort, thank you man. Although I was trying to get the gameplay story with the dialogues of all characters and the cutscenes of the gameplay without the hours and hours of gameplay to understand the story that unravels in the present, this does explain a lot 😂
