Do you have your recipes anywhere that I can't print so I can get the ingredients without watching 10 times? I've tried several of your recipes and they are all amazing by the way! This one I've even passed to some friends!!
Great job love the sauce I put on seafood, crawfish, and especially on fajita’s and I add some Chardonnay wine pour on the meat as I remove from the grill😳👍👍
Thanks so much for watching! Great question! Because eating crab tends to be very hands-on, this method makes for a finger and shell lickin’ good time! Seafood boil enthusiasts get it. This is by no means the only method though :)
Same. I was wondering the same thing and her response did not provide a clear answer to this question. More like a dance around it. It seems you would be doing all this work to season the shell which is the part you don’t even eat and based on her response it seems that the seasoning does not seep through to flavor the actual meat inside. “finger and shell lickn” 🤮
@@elasticsynapsis9330 thank you for watching and reiterating the question. My intention wasn’t to dance around the issue or gross you out. Leaving the shell on any seafood while steaming/baking adds flavor for sure. Seasoning the shell adds to the flavor of the dish eaten as a whole. I don’t believe the seasoning “seeps” through the crab shell. But it adds flavor to the dish that you can see, smell and taste and is apart of the experience. You could totally just steam the crab in water and crack the shell and dip in butter. Some ppl do just that. Maybe try both ways and see which you prefer.
The flavoring doesn't seep into the meat, it merely coats the shell for visual sight. If you'd like, you can cut the shell open, exposing the meat and slather over the meat VS on the shell. She probably didn't remove shell because she baked it after spooning over shell.
Hey,what I like to do it take a little food hammer and hit over the crabs to put cracks in it...that helps seep seasonings through..also boil them..juicy and flavorful
All king and snow crabs are cooked before your fish market gets them. Only raw ones will come out a tank. They travel to far not to be cooked first. Cook and flash frozen .
i want to know how you break those legs open, to get to the meat? what do ya do? just break off a leg, and then bend and twist it with your fingers, until the shell breaks, and then pull it apart and out comes the meat? is that how you do it?
Great question! I use kitchen scissors to break open the shell. You can also use a crab cracker tool. Some people also just use their hands and teeth to maneuver around and get inside. There are options :) Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thanks so much or watching! I do not take the meat from she shell before I cook it. I keep it in the shell while cooking and only crack the shell and take it out right before eating.
Great question! Mine were frozen. Not sure about steamed may just cut back on cook time. You just really need to bake long enough to heat them up. Thanks so much for watching!!
I would use your sause but I would drizzle olive oil on them in oven and sprinkle cayenne pepper and chili powder on top of oil. I split legs open with scissors before applying sause.
Can someone explain to me why everyone makes the shell of the crab delicious but the actual meat inside doesn't have anything? Do people eat the shell?
I’ve never cut open my crab when I bake them like this. If it’s the King crab I may put some melted butter in the leg but regardless the crab is flavored and the dipping butter is flavored by the crab. I wrap my legs in foil when I cook them. Trust the process it works!😍😍😋

Question: I don't know much about cooking crab legs, does the seasoning seep through the shell? Or any part of it?

so when you get king/snow crab from the store do you thaw at home in the fridge or can I keep it out for a couple of hours?
I've done both. Either works! Thanks so much for watching.
You can boil them while frozen.
Wow! These are making me 🤤
Heyyy boo! So yummy!

The seasoning on the outside is not gonna do anything to the meat it’s not gonna go into the shell

Can someone explain to me why everyone makes the shell of the crab delicious but the actual meat inside doesn't have anything? Do people eat the shell?
i've always wondered this too. personally i cut open the shell to make sure the seasoning gets on the meat

If you cut open the shell all that seasoning would have gotten inside the crabs.
that's actually a great idea!!
Where is the recipe ?
Would have opened up the legs to add marinade.......not that it matters can’t afford them anyway
ok but the fps
Doubling up on some of your ingredients. Is redundant and others contradict each other.
It came out so so good! Thanks so much for watching!
Sorry
Can you even taste the crab anymore? I'm thinking this tastes like all of the overbearing seasonings, and acids, and nothing else.
Stop thinking; start trying it out first
Looks good but plenty of cholesterol
with the butter. Well goodluck
