I certainly agree, overall laws are not very well executed. playing through the game again recently and one aspect I do appreciate is how the laws expand as the plot develops, I do enjoy when gameplay ties into plot. also the negative reaction to the monarchy following this is the closest we get to commentary on class system like in FFT. I was realizing for the first time how Marche as a fugitive of the law parallels Ramza as a heretic of the church. I think you are onto something with set laws for missions, it would create lot of opportunity to force the player to get more creative with strategy. involving Ezel would be perfect - a subplot of missions with Ezel to undermine the law system and have it changed somehow once completed. looking forward to your next video in this series!

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm actually working on a complete overhaul mod for FFTA that address some of the games issues, I know there are already a few mods out there, but the FFTA modding community isn't really active anymore so few of them are completed, unsure if I'll ever release it, it's more of a passion project, I couldn't decide whether to change the laws so they are set for each stage or simply remove the terrible laws and rebalance the law sets. It was a great idea for more laws to be introduced when the crystals were destroyed and for it to clearly be referenced, they could have just randomly added more laws with no story. Thats a great idea for Ezel, I love his character, I was a little dissapointed when you recruited him and he had no skills that did anything to the laws, I would have loved him to have a Metronome style move that randomly selects a law to add to the battle. Thank you for watching, I haven't started work on the next episode yet but I may have it based on Classes.

@@MaxedOutToast I first played FFTA when it came out, twenty something years ago. Also took it everywhere with me for a long while, then off and on again through the years. It's easily my second favorite Final Fantasy title behind Six. Coincidentally, I just picked it up again right around the same day this video was uploaded.
FFTA is a game I truly love. The visuals, music, gameplay and story have haunted my thoughts for months before I could get it again. And now seeing this video let's me know that I'm not alone in that regard. I'll be watching this series every step of the way.
I'm unsure of how you'll be modding this game, or what tools you'd even use, but I'd be willing to learn and help. Just let me know, I'd love to contribute to something I love.
St. Ivalice can be a harsh world, but it's a damn great one to experience. The snowy, cozy prelude village reminds me of my own, and the vast world created from the book is where I'd love to stay.
      May fair tidings find you.

@@MaxedOutToast I'd be interested to hear what other changes you would put in a mod, even if it's never released. maybe another future video topic

@@TheSmokeyDawn I can remember being drawn to the boxart in a game shop when I was a kid and so glad I was, I looked at the back of the box and knew straight away that I had to have this game, I just couldn't stop playing it, time just seemed to dissapear! It's definately my favourite handheld Final fantasy and third fave FF game behind FF7 and FF8 and I always try to play it at least once a year.
I'm also glad that I'm not the only one out there that grew up with this amazing game and still loves playing it.
I've currently balanced every race and class, giving the Bangaa race a well deserved boost and made Moogles more appealing, tweaked monster stats such as reducing their attack and giving them a big boost on speed, which I feel makes sense, tweaked pretty much every mission, added some more NPC's to certain missions, made all skills use MP ( I never understood why some stupidly OP skills like AIM Arm didn't use MP) and increased item range. Unfortunately there is only so much you can do when modding FFTA and can be prone to crashes, so it's a constant work in progress, if you have any ideas on what you feel would improve FFTA feel free to let me know and can see if it can be implemented.
I wanted to be transported into alternate Ivalice as a kid, I definately would have been more like Ritz in wanting to stay, I would have much preferred it there :)
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching

@@beefwellington6063 I was actually considering doing an episode of this series where I show some footage of my mod where it potentially resolves some problems I raised in the series
