Heiroglyphic Trail walk to see native American petroglyphs in Superstition Mountains

- Today, we take a hike on the Heiroglyphic trail in Gold Canyon, Arizona, to see native American petroglyph rock art. The petroglyphs are thought to be done by the HoHokam people and are estimated to be about 1500 years old! This area has such incredible history, and seeing these works of art was absolutely breathtaking.
HIEROGLYPHS are symbols that represent a sound or meaning. (ancient Egyptian writing is an example)
PETROGLYPHS are artwork that depicts the natural world around where the artist had lived

The ancient cultures were fairly prolific all around SW USA they built and decorated in some very unique areas amazing survival skills 🌵 Im in Buckeye Arizona 🐎🇺🇸
@DouglasRichardson-er4ky It's absolutely amazing standing where they stood and trying to imagine how it would have been for them living through different periods of history. Can't wait to visit more sites like this one 🙂🌵

@JosephCee yea man I had the same thoughts! We did a different hike to the Wave Cave for sunset, and I was definitely worried about it with all the stories and superstition around these mountains.
@JosephCee I definitely recommend a big ol' Camelback that holds as much water as possible and to plan to be out longer than expected always. Carry fire starting materials and let people know where you're heading!
