I have a Prener PM in my Fender acoustic. Having both a piezo and a mic in the setup makes the difference. There are 2 versions of this preamp out there. Some kits has only the bridge piezo (no blend slider) and no receiver jack for a 3.5mm (1/8") mic plug-in. The under-the-bridge piezo by it's self is quite "tinny" (works good with hot effects on). The blend slider mixes the two inputs. Makes all the difference. Very full sound. The mic loves to go into feedback. Adding a sound hole plug is a must if you get even close to the amp speakers (ten feet). Turning the tuner ON or OFF makes a "pop" from the amp if volume is not turned all the way down. The preamp is ON even with the tuner's power button OFF. There is no OFF switch for the preamp as far as I can tell. Manufacturer claims turning volume to zero "turns OFF" preamp. I remove the easy-to-get-to 9V battery when done playing. Cutting up your $500.00 guitar can be scary. Buy two kits and install first one in a cheap guitar to get the hole sizes just right then do your sweet baby with this gained knowledge. Be very careful positioning the main box so as to match the curves of preamp to your guitar perfectly. I cut the holes using only an exacto knife. Easy to slip and wreck the finish. Take your time.
Cool, on Amazon it didn't give a proper description of the mics purpose. I didn't realize it was for internal use. Cool cheap product, thanks for the demo!
Make sure you have a multi tool like a dremmel to fit one of these pick up pre amps to your guitar. You'll also need masking tape, a tiny pozidrive screwdriver. Do not overtighten screws!!! The only problem with mine, is that the flexible microphone that is supposed to sit underneath your strings, has gone floppy, and sometimes spins around, out of position. I may cable tie it to the underside of the face of the guitar, near the sound hole. This is the second I have fitted. The first one was faulty, where the back light disappeared, and the in built tuner stopped functioning. I have read that this is a common fault. I suppose at £15 you expect something a bit unreliable... Sounds good though.
Hi Brent, Hi Everyone....Sad to say that I purchased and installed on my twelve string Ibanez and sad to say that the piezo dialing gets Zero Signal. Also, you didn't give the full piezo dialing demo for sound quality piezo only. You gave us just the Mic sound. I put on my headset at the Mic only Riff at 13:50 compared to same Riff at 14.20 just a slight touch of your piezo, and it is very hard to tell the full difference. I may have got a broken/dudd bc the Mic setting is the only thing that does work well on my purchased unit. I will uninstall and look into the soldering inside the module with hopes that I can repair it on my own. wish me luck!!
Hi Brent just have a question, if I decided just to use just the mic do I still have to place the piezo under the sadlle. . I prefer not to but I'm not sure it will work
Hi Brent just a heads up for people buying from Thomann. I bought a Harley Benton British Truetone pedal along with a H & K WM-1 in the UK from Thomann. This is the actual cost of purchase and charges as we are now not in the EU. Harley Benton British True tone £22.30 Hughes & Kettner WM 1 Midi interface £125.00 Government charges £33.35 Brokerage charges £11.50 Total amount £192.15. If you had to pay 20% VAT on £147.30, which is what I expected, then it should have been £176.76. HUGE difference on such a small amount. Needless to say as soon as it arrives it's going straight back. The only thing bugging me is that I had to pay UPS the £44.85 and I am wondering if I can get that back or not. If not I'll be stuck with a far more expensive purchase than expected and I won't be buying from Thomann again.
@@BrentHutchinson it doesn't tell you anywhere about how much the extra charges are until you have purchased then paid for your gear. The extras only show up when they're on there way to you and then your stuck with them.
Looks just like the kit I bought, but hey. After taking all this quite seriously putting real work and effort into my project. I can't find the effing new strings I had to starve a day to afford to buy. Not fkin cricket 🦗🏏. And it's open mic night in 80 minutes. Blue is the colour of a Chelsea/City/Rangers fan? Wish me luck. I think I've now managed to file an innocent fret from existence. I got my one for about £8 and got a Camel bone saddle and nut to treat an Encore bin find. I didn't get the mic and was thinking of soldering in a switch and another piezo flat one from an old smoke alarm. The XLR I wish could work as a mic input. By getting no mic with my one I may have to try an old PC mic?

It's now £25. You are the new Trogly - you've Hutched it.
Hello! What does the note button do? I accidentally pressed it while I was tuning and now the tuner wont work like how it used to. Im a beginner btw so got kinda nervous lol. Thank you!
Like I'm pretty new like been playing for 3 months so maybe I'm trippin if that not like a bad ass 1500 dollar plus guitar if you can afford that then why would you be on Amazon buying anything for it that kind of guitar like who spends $1,500 on a used guitar and then log on to Amazon and buy the $40 piece of equipment to try to make it amplify acoustic sound. Like say that that company gave you a fender telecaster so you would promote the product without telling us that you're just trying to promote a product for a guitar again maybe I'm trippin like if I spent that kind of money on a guitar I would actually also buy everything you needed while I was in the same place and I would let them who were professionals install it not come back home get on Amazon wait for it to get there however long that takes and then try to install it myself😂😂😂 I guess not everybody's going to recognize that kind of guitar and how much it cost and how asinine it is to even combined that guitar with a piece of equipment like this off of Amazon that only amateurs would be buying anybody that would even spend half of that on a guitar already put in enough time to understand it they're putting an investment and themselves because they can't stop playing and they're tired of playing on a subpar instrument and it's time to move up a level sheesh that Amazon money is real😂

I'm honestly surprise how well that sounds, and the variations of sounds possible is very impressive. Admire your all round talent too.
That was a great performance man, Mix is killer!
Thanks buddy
Came for the review, stayed for the skill 🤘

you Sir are a Good guitarist you play real good..
Very impressed by the way. Good guitarist, great vocals, cool song.
Thanks very much :)
Thanks but what I expected was plugging a xlr on the guitar preamp which you showed us unbagging first.
Beautiful song man !!!
I installed it everything works except the low E thank you for helping me you have an idea of this problem
Try to reseat the peizio under bridge pickup. If its the low E then try to move it up in position closer to the low E. :)
Wow, the difference with an internal mic is night and day! I've never been a piezo fan, it's always astounded me they ever got so popular!
Yeah I know right bloody horrible sound.. The mic on this unit is not bad

Thats a shame... Can you send it back for a replacement?

Ah it works a lot better than I expected
Very good for the price
Nice vid m8 😁
Cherts dude I'm very impressed
Does cutting the holes in your guitar affect the sound of it at all, surely it must affect the resonance a little
not that I have noticed
Hi Brent just have a question, if I decided just to use just the mic do I still have to place the piezo under the sadlle. . I prefer not to but I'm not sure it will work
nope just go with the mic I mostly use that its great.. Just recorded a guitar track with it on a clients EP sounded great

Zdravo, ja sam EQ naročil na Aliexpresu in stane 9,5 € na naslov v Slovenijo.🤷🏼♂️
Do you recommend this over the fishmen presys blend 301
No probs not but it's great for the money
I bought the exact same unit and the tuner doesn't work, but the mic seems to work okay. Shame. But it was very cheap.
very nice review. love your accent. the Britts are so cool.

Enjoyed the songs man, are you still legal to busk during lockdown? ie if you can’t work from home
