Horses in general tend to be very loyal as long as you treat them well. Even when a horse is about to fall, they will usually try to protect their rider from the fall as much as they possibly can. And I've heard of plenty of stories where a horse rushed to the aid of their owner. For instance, a woman was examining a new-born calf, and the mother cow didn't like that and attacked her, and when the woman's horse saw that, he broke out of his pen and firmly planted himself between the cow and his owner until his owner had managed to get to safety on the other side of the fence.

It's official, Castlevania has the most satisfying ending to a series since Breaking Bad. This will be cemented as a bonafied classic for years to come.
Say what you will but I think this ending (including the other final scene) make this show all the more incredible. I'm tired of the "if it's not a dark depressing the show sucks". For characters who have been miserable for 95% of the show, this feels deserved. Our trio, and the couple were all loners when this thing started. I'm happy they've found peace.

If you played the original game, that was the ending and it is because of Trevor and Sypha marrying that the Belmont family became more powerful. I have only seen season 1. However since I had the original game as a kid and played it along with other Castlevania games I knew Sypha and Trevor would end up together. The dynamic they have so far in Season 1 makes their relationship interesting then again they are Latins, and this is really shown in Sypha.
@@marcbillimont3961 well Romanians and French (Franco) are Latins. Also remember this story takes place 100 years before the original Castlevania game staring Simon Belmont and Alucard was next seen during Symphony of the Night.
Alejandra's delivery when Sypha says "I love you" is one of the most powerful pieces of voice acting I have heard in a long time. You can really feel the upwelling of all of the emotions she is experiencing in that half laugh, half sob in her voice - the relief and joy at Trevor coming back to her that had only just replaced her grief, hope as she looks forward to a brighter future for both them and the world, and even a little amusement at how incorrigible he is. It really is top shelf, in my opinion.

@@Dat-Boi-Camoja i always thought about this series like a videogame playthrough. And fighting death as the end boss is pretty on point when u think about it.
@@Dat-Boi-Camoja he should in game Canon basically only the belmonts and people like Alucard can go toe to toe with death and unlike the show where death is presented as an elemental in the games its the actual metaphysical concept of death that Dracula brought into his world and made it his servant.
I mean she beats night creatures to death with shards of ice--in some cases especially this season actually wielding them like weapons. Ever tried to hold a thick piece of ice? Stuff gets heavy. Not to mention she's been traveling long distances on foot since she was born, being a nomadic Speaker and all.
@@halhala2 Not to mention the fact that ice like that gets so cold it burns and most importantly, it's slippery as hell. I love Sypha, easily my favorite character. She's the best. I've been waiting for a female character like her in animation literally my whole life. I'm so happy with their work on the female characters here.
Another thing to consider is that since Trevor was so beat up, he might not have been able hunt/get much food for himself and as a result, likely lost some weight.
Not every show needs to end on a bad note, just because the world is gritty and dark doesn't mean the ending has to be bad or bittersweet. We have too much of that these days, its okay to end on a happy note to show that the fighting and sacrifices were worth it in the end.
Honestly, an "and they earned a happy ending" is probably the best way to end a dark story about people struggling against the darkness like this; you show the audience that the struggles of these characters was worth it and the audience wasn't wasting their time with something needlessly bleak -(cough- season 3 -cough).-
For the most part, I thought the happy ending was absolutely earned for Belmont/Sypha/Alucard, though I take issue with the execution of Dracula/Lisa’s ending so far. If you want me to explain my mixed thoughts... In general, as a casual fan of the Castlevania games (who only played Super Castlevania IV, Symphony of the Night, and the first game in the Lords of Shadow reboot), I feel conflicted with giving Dracula a definitive closure this early on. I know how the games employ a gimmick, where the threat of Dracula’s resurrection lasts long enough that even Trevor’s descendants (like Simon Belmont) eventually fight him again, alongside other heroes. So allowing Dracula to find such closure, so soon after Trevor/Sypha/Alucard first defeat him, could be slamming the door shut on so many other potential stories and characters. At the same time, however, a part of me feels that the games’ gimmick of Dracula’s constant resurrections could be detrimental, in a Castlevania adaptation that is much more story-driven and has Dracula be a more dynamic character. When a chunk of the games are just an “excuse plot” to present their own unique gameplay, and Dracula is a one-note apocalyptic villain, this gimmick can be serviceable. But otherwise, it risks making the overall franchise’s story far more repetitive, having Dracula overstay his welcome as a villain, cheapening the dramatic weight of overcoming Dracula, and holding back other potential antagonists from adding variety, by becoming unique villains in their own right. So maybe it is for the best with this series. And if Netflix’s planned spinoffs are to incorporate other heroes, who fought Dracula in the games, perhaps there could be newly fleshed out villains to fill the gap left by Dracula (like how the Lords of Shadow reboot focused on Lucifer, the Forgotten One, and Death as the main villains instead, since you actually play as Gabriel/Dracula himself for most of it). Now, with all of that said, I still currently feel that the ending scene with Dracula and Lisa was not suitable for the show. I feel that a better way to give Dracula peaceful closure might be something similar to the ending in Symphony of the Night (only if the contrite Dracula actually stayed that way, rather than coming back as a villain for later games... again). Otherwise, it currently feels like the equivalent to Disney’s The Lion King having a last-minute scene, where Mufasa comes back to life. In both cases, part of what made the story feel uplifting and triumphant was how the protagonists grew from that tragedy and overcame it, even though it could not be undone. But by having Dracula and Lisa come back and live together again, as if they never even died in the first place, when the ending was already happy enough for me, I think it needlessly undercuts the drama.
I generally prefer a series that end with on a hopeful tone, even if the themes are grim and tragical. One example of this would be the original ending for Attack On Titan, it's still tragic but it leaves the feeling that now there is hope and things can finally start getting better.
Yeah its why i still dont like samurai jacks ending jack went through all that bs fighting aku only for his love to die in his arms he deserved his happy ending
I personally think that making Trevor’s death permanent would be more impactful when he killed Death. But I don’t mind this ending either because it really is beautiful.
He slayed a being who called itself Death on a 1V1 But the scariest thing for him are Sypha: "Trefor Belmont" Alucard: "Treffy Village" Also I like how in this season, rather than afraid of being crazy, Alucard is more afraid of becoming a Belmont
One of the most satisfying endings I've ever seen in my entire life with Alucard x Greta, Trevor x Sylpha, & Lisa x Dracula.....and now that's an honor because I've seen hundreds of movies/shows/etc.
You know when you think about it kinda makes sense that Trevor is still alive, He just defeated death, its almost like him getting live is the reward after all of that. At least that's my opinion of it.
It kinda makes sense about how Trevor, Lisa and dracula are alive because how the infinite Corridor works its that you need alot of souls or death to control it. So when Saint Germain was still alive which was indicated in the fight scene, 'death' death must have been the ultimate sacrifice. So with 'death' death must of been what was needed to bring everyone back including Lisa and dracula with completely new bodies.
I don't think so. I think Germaine used his own soul as he was dying to open the corridor one last time to save Belmont. Makes a lot more sense if you think about it. As to why Vlad Tepesh and his wife are alive again and in their own bodies, the only solution that comes to mind is that, when Belmont destroyed the hermaphrodite vessel their souls managed to escape and for some reason found their bodies and regenerated those (there are a few loopholes like this throughout the entire series).
Yeah, but id like to think that when he whipped his ass without mercy was more satisfying, i mean he literally whipped death man...thats mad respect right there!
@@oceanberserker L-O-V-E-D the fight sequence between them but it would have been more satisfying if the "real" Death would have intervened at some point & stop the fight or banish his underling himself. D: "can't have you ruin my name" or something to that effect!
@@ShamBell Satisfying, maybe. But let's face it, if that actually happened, we never would've got to see Trevor beat the absolute BONE MEAL out of the Death elemental for threatening Sypha.
@@BeAsTMoDE528 I think they are saying that this ending didn’t need to try to be clever or subversive with its ending, it gave us some mushy, corny happiness that we liked to pretend we didn’t like as teenagers but always secretly loved. This ending didn’t feel rushed or insecure, it was just a satisfying ending for characters we’ve grown attached to, which seems out of the scope for many series these days. Quite frankly, I’ve outgrown angst, and I’m more than happy with a few more “Happily Ever After” style endings.
I don't think so, the series revolves around Dracula's war against humanity. Now that he and Lisa are alive together, he has no reason to continue warring on humanity.
And Castlevania has a Gallery of Evil Guys that weren't exactly allied or wanted to do anything with Dracula : Count Olrox, Galamoth, Graham Jones, the list goes on.
@@Darksaviour Funny indeed. And now that i remember Leon's Vow of "Hunting the Night", i think this is just the beggining. So the Belmont Will Still have Jobs, just not Dracula Related. XD
It's a perfect ending but everyone knows that even though these 3 found their happy ending their descendents ( Simon, Ritcher, and Julius) will have to continue the eternal battle against evil. Even though Dracula is no longer a threat there are still other powerful creatures who seek to destroy the world.
@@norm-bb3bb no I meant Trevor and Sypha for the children part. I referred to all three of them as in all three of them have found peace. Then again we don't know about the future.
It's funny how they technically failed at their mission to prevent Dracula's resurrection without realizing it, and yet they still won, and it's still a really happy ending.
I mean you can end it bitter sweet or just straight up dark, and a happy ending is good no doubt but al of it must be earned, game of thrones didn’t, it could have ended any of the 3 ways but it ends up as just being bitter
@@ATalesTruth- Game of Thrones ended by destroying everyone's character arcs, making most of the theories and plotlines pointless, and just being all around sloppy and rushed.
@@ATalesTruth- true, an ending can be happy, sad or bittersweet, but it has to feel earned. A bad ending is a bad ending, because it doesn't make sense or was executed poorly.
I don't understand why there isn't more buzz about this last season. From beginning to end, the pacing, animation (every element of it), and voice acting were incredible and consistent.
This is a series where the happy ending is the surprise ending. These characters put themselves through hell because they were broken and eventually realized that they had to fix their lives themselves. No more running or blaming others. You have to EARN your happy ending. And they did.
One of the most satisfying endings that any dark and depressing show like this could get. Trevor is a pull-out master. Sypha telling Trevor she loves him is so heartwarming. I was genuinely worried about Trevor dying. He needed a break, and he got it.
One of the most well written-animated couple out there. Their chemistry felt so natural and real, and their dynamic just made sense. I loved that they got their happy ending.
This show will always hold a special place in my heart. I discovered it, quite by accident, and binged all four seasons in a single weekend. The story is beautiful, heartbreaking, exciting, but most of all, hopeful in the face of despair. And it makes me happy. A masterpiece for the ages.
Only miserable people don’t like happy endings just because they’re“happy”. Any ending is warranted based on the events and storyline that proceeds it and if bring story treads to satisfying conclusion for the characters. Sometimes it’s tragic sometimes its heroic. All that matters is does it seem “earned” by the choices the characters have made in the story.
Thank God this series ended on a happy note. I'm so sick of the misery porn that seems to be so popular the last couple of years, like writers for shows games and movies have become allergic to happy endings.
I remember being all "screw happy endings they are so unrealistic!" but now that I'm older, I'm all for sappy happy endings where I can cry of joy because life is hard enough.
I love when grim and tragical series end on this notes, reminding us that we should always strive for hope, and that tomorrow will be a better new world to discover.
Although Im not against it or anything, it's interesting to point out that they never actually kiss in any scene! Just shows you that you dont need characters to physically show their affection for each other through kissing and sex. Dialogue and other interactions are just as powerful.
I just finished watching it all I gotta say that ending tho had me in tears. I am happy that my two favorite characters Striga and Morana is still alive...I miss them already
Great performances for the actors here. I especially like the quiver in Sypha's voice when she says "You are a rude idiot, Trevor Belmont. And I love you."
That "And I love you" always gets me, it's so powerful and transmits the joy and sadness of Sypha, very deep. The Voice actress really put all her emotions in that simple phrase.
I don’t want a spin off or sequel series. Not even with their son, Simon. This was the perfect ending. Especially after every other show’s finales being massive disappointments the last few years. Even Dracula got a second chance. And I don’t see him returning to his old ways for Simon to come along and slay him. And now the trio can get some damn rest.
The spinoff will be completely different (besides the animation and the Belmonts and maybe Alucard if they do SOTN) because it will be a new writer or writers. They have an opportunity to do something COMPLETELY different and I hope they do It will in no way detract from this show if it does happen, i think that'd be impossible with such a strong cast and ending
I don't trust that lore as far as I can throw it because A) it's a reboot, B) it's the game, and C) in that same game apparently Alucard and Trevor are the same person?? Also the last time I went digging, Simon was Trevor's ancestor and Richter was further down the line as the descendant of them both. I'm going to settle with that.
"I know..." _...but I'm happy to hear you say it,_ is the unspoken end to Trevor's sentence. It takes a lot to actually get me to tear up, but Sypha's "I think we _finally_ won" did it for me.
So many shows/movies/books these days have a sad or bittersweet ending, and after finishing Castlevania it was such a relief for me seeing all their suffering finally coming to an end. Sometimes both the characters and the viewer needs to be rewarded, our real world has already it's fair share of Injustice, sadness and cruelty, let people escape real life problems and enjoy a good story with a "good" ending.
THEY ARE SO CUTE, SO ADORABLE. I just love how soft she is with him and how he just melts everytime when he is near her. He feel's so happy and at ease when he is near her, i'm just so happy that they are okay.
This shows there truly is hope for the world... the kindness you show, the more you fight no matter how hard things get and the impact you have on people... proves that it will one day all pay off to a brighter future... 🤧
The Sypha voice actress really sold this well. She almost broke down because she thought she was going to wake up or about to pass that fleeting moment of happiness when you see deceased love one in a dream before your mind tells you "Theres something wrong with this."
Somewhere out there in the world, he might've knocked someone up, but he was probably quick to travel away before those girls realized they might be pregnant... Is what i understood... But he probably just said it to piss sypha off because the mood was getting heavier. And i don't think trevor would be that irresponsible but hey these are medieval ages where there are not many contraception options.
@@ronbob1402 Not pullout, she was asking how he knew she was pregnant. He was making a joke that he was able to stay happy and care free by faking his death and leaving before the girl even realized she was pregnant.
I always thought he was referring to naming the child Treffy. Its not hard to tell someone's' preggers if you spend months living with them, often seeing them naked, and helping each others hygeines. Pretty sure both Sypha and He knew it. It was a large part of their stress leading up to this and part of why Trevor was encouraging her to try living her life again (not his dark life). Whether it was with him (preferably. say rebuilding the city), or away from him with her people. Pretty sure they both knew long before the finale. They just never told the viewer so we only learned when she told Alucard. Also Trevor is from a family of magic /magic tool users. He probably took meds to not have kids.
For me, Castlevania is one of the very best anime series Netflix has. From Season 1 to Season 4, everything was done beautifully. Trevor, Allucard and Sypha were a perfect team.
Notice how Trevor doesn't even have any bandages or any sign of treatment on any of his wounds. He literally didn't even stop long enough to patch himself up a bit, he just immediately started riding back to Sypha. Now that's love.
Aaaa im so happy they got a happy ending! The two of them together! Alucard and Greta! They founding a new village and planning to be better! Isaacs development! Dracula and Lisa! I’m so satisfied!
This happy ending in what was needed, the show personified this world as a cruel, shitty world even before Dracula's wife was killed and here we have these 3 being the only real 3 that could stop it. Hell it even gave Dracula and his wife a happy ending with them unintentionally being reborn allowing them to start brand new lives together. This season wrapped everything up and gave Trevor, Sypha and Alucard there reward for all they did. And the beauty of this show is Issac's growth as a character, coming from a humanity hating servant of Dracula to questioning his place and role in everything to teacher. Honestly if ya haven't seen it yet, what are ya doing? Though be aware it's made for mature audiences.
This was such a nice way to wrap up the show. Not only did it wrap up all the plot lines up to this point in the story, it also managed to make the overall story end on a happy note (which considering how season three ended) was just wonderful.
I love this series so much. Absolutely love how much life they gave to Trevor, Sypha, Alucard, Hector, Isaac and even Dracula and Lisa All the references to enemies, items and charscters across the games And how amazing they made Carmilla an "antagonist" This is by far the best videogame adaptation ever created. Such a beautiful love letter to fans of the saga. Cant wait to see Richter and Maria

@@Aenarion28 oh yeah the Belmont line immigrated to France didn't they, Belmont is probably a germanic/latin mix.
You felt that too huh ?
When she said i love you, her voice was too real.
Thank you. I felt that too and wondered if anyone else felt the same way. I watched this video and felt it again. ❤😊
I'm more for Trevor's "Hello love". Just the perfect tone of it conveys a million feelings all at once.

@@Dat-Boi-Camoja he should in game Canon basically only the belmonts and people like Alucard can go toe to toe with death and unlike the show where death is presented as an elemental in the games its the actual metaphysical concept of death that Dracula brought into his world and made it his servant.
Technically He's not death he just feeds on its essence 😁
so why isnt he on smashbros?
can we talk about how Sypha literally caught that man like he was a feather?!
We are talking about Sypha here, woman got the skills and the fitness to Back it all up, not your average skinny and weak damsel in distress
Have you seen her shoulder game. That girl lifts, bro.
Other showrunners take notes please this is how you end a tv series.
It's not that it's happy that makes it good. It's because it concludes character arcs in ways that feel natural and deserved.
What's pretty clever about this is that whether or not Trevor has syrvived, his character arc was fully resolved.
*cough cough attack on titan
@@BenDictioN We don't discuss 139 here.

exactly
Just like Guilty Gear Strive
I generally prefer a series that end with on a hopeful tone, even if the themes are grim and tragical. One example of this would be the original ending for Attack On Titan, it's still tragic but it leaves the feeling that now there is hope and things can finally start getting better.
Yeah its why i still dont like samurai jacks ending jack went through all that bs fighting aku only for his love to die in his arms he deserved his happy ending

Yes I think so too Belmont did say Deaths feeds off of something when you die so whatever that is he probably had a lot of it
I don't think so.

The spinoff will be completely different (besides the animation and the Belmonts and maybe Alucard if they do SOTN) because it will be a new writer or writers. They have an opportunity to do something COMPLETELY different and I hope they do

Watching this after seeing the new Castlevania show is bittersweet; now we know this wasn't Alucard's happy ending after all, but merely a phase.
Trevor's survival is also St Germain's entire redemption arc.
The Sypha voice actress really sold this well.

Talking about his pullout game I think
Somewhere out there in the world, he might've knocked someone up, but he was probably quick to travel away before those girls realized they might be pregnant... Is what i understood... But he probably just said it to piss sypha off because the mood was getting heavier. And i don't think trevor would be that irresponsible but hey these are medieval ages where there are not many contraception options.
He learned how to recognize if a woman’s he’s slept with is pregnant, so he knows when it’s time to leave.
Having watched Nocturne, i can safely say they cannot reach this level of wholesomeness, it is too rushed.
This is exactly how Trevor caught sypha when he freed her from the cyclops. Nice callback
This animation, this colors are so good I can't even. They did such an awesome job through the series. Just incredible.
This was such a nice way to wrap up the show. Not only did it wrap up all the plot lines up to this point in the story, it also managed to make the overall story end on a happy note (which considering how season three ended) was just wonderful.
