Is it justified self defense to shoot someone for pounding and kicking your door and making death threats at you? Based on the search results, it is crucial to consider the specific circumstances and laws regarding self-defense. In Michigan, Arizona, and California (as inferred from the Penal Code 198.5 PC), the “castle doctrine” allows for the use of deadly force to protect one’s home against an intruder who poses an imminent threat. Pounding and Kicking the Door The act of pounding and kicking the door can be seen as a clear indication of an intruder’s intent to enter the premises and potentially harm the occupant. This behavior creates a reasonable fear of imminent harm, justifying the use of deadly force in defense. Death Threats The inclusion of death threats escalates the situation, as it demonstrates a clear and present danger to the occupant’s life. This adds to the justification for using deadly force in self-defense. Conclusion Based on the provided information, it appears that shooting someone who is pounding and kicking your door, making death threats, and posing an imminent threat to your life or safety, would be considered justified self-defense in Michigan, Arizona, and California. However, it is essential to note that the specific circumstances and the individual’s perceived threat assessment would ultimately be evaluated by the legal system. Key Considerations The intruder’s actions (pounding and kicking the door) demonstrate a clear intent to enter and potentially harm the occupant. The death threats escalate the situation, indicating a direct and immediate threat to the occupant’s life. The occupant’s reasonable fear of imminent harm justifies the use of deadly force in self-defense, as per the castle doctrine and relevant state laws.

I lived in a neighborhood full of children, in my home country. They were very loud and played every day literally out of my house, sometimes kind of provoking my dogs, who were all behind a huge iron see through door. Only one time I had to yell asking them to stop, and then bought mesh to cover the see through spots, and kept my dogs in my living room if the kids were too noisy. I later interacted with some of the kids and they were very sweet , interested to know about me and my dogs, we became friends. One time on my way back from work and groceries shopping, i encountered two of those kids that were actually looking for me a bit in distress, the gate in my house had gone open because I had forgotten to lock it the night before, and the wind was pushing it open again and again, both girls (around 7 years old) were trying to keep it closed. I'll never forget them, and kind of miss living there but it was not a very safe place to live. I helped them sometimes with food for their dogs, and took one of them to get fixed, plus some things I left behind for them when I moved. I can't understand how can people be so hateful.
The nerve of her to try to look sad while the bodycam is playing 😡 She hated that woman and her children 💯 she deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison..

@angiejorah , Here you go again, all over the comments section trying to justify the unjustified killing of a mother! The murderer was behind a closed, locked, door, had been harassing not only these particular children BUT, ALL of the children in the neighborhood! There were no "THREATS", "POUNDING ON THE DOOR", or anything else that will EVER justify killing someone while inside the safety of her home! Hopefully this murderer will spend the rest of her miserable life behind bars for this senseless, unnecessary, murder! Enough said! And, unlike yourself I don't have loads of time to spend on TH-cam doing back & forths too prove my point, so don't bother thinking I'm going to respond back because, like I've said, I don't have that kind of time on my hands, especially for someone with your mindset!
She called the police for a complaint of the kids??, right before, they were on their way. She didn't wait. Seem like she said she couldn't find her phone in the interrogation room. Not sure
Self-defense is when you're face-to-face, not when you're behind a locked door, she deserves life in prison , She took a mother away from her children, and now they have to grow up without their Mom 💔
Nothing good will come out of “Hatred” This lady let hate take over her heart and mind, right now on this Saturday afternoon she could have taking a nap, spending time with her grandchildren, now someone going to tell you when to sleep, eat, give other people complete control of her life just because of HATE. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
To think she murdered a mom of 4 because of noise and toys outside, and she will probably die in a cell with absolutely no privacy and surrounded by noise 24/7.
This is a miserable old woman. Notice how she never had company or brought up any family members? This is what happens when you spend your life alone and isolated. She resented the families and seeing the children experience the joys of childhood and community. If she didn’t like how the children were acting why not redirect their attention are start a community garden? Give them options besides “loud” games. She brought all of this upon herself, she could have built positive rapports with her neighbors instead she murdered a mother of four innocent children. Communicating effectively and respectfully goes a long way.
Maybe if she'd called them "Neighbors" instead of the OTHER N word, things would be different. When it's a white woman, everyone expects that the media won't ask whether racism was a factor, or even ask if it's a hate crime. I can't imagine her explaining how her hostility led her to expect zero politeness from children, which justified fearing for her life, considering the animosity she'd produced.
The hatred aged her so much. She is a few years older than me but looks like she’s 85 years old. Well she chose her fate, to live out her life in a 6x6 cell with Big Bertha. I wonder how she’s gonna explain the situation to her.

The field is enormous. The landlord planted a property line sign for Susan. So no kids, or skates etc would be there. Nobody saying nasty things through her window. And Susan would have been wrong calling if they played on the far side of the sign. The dead mom pulled up the sign and threw it. There's film where she demonstrated to a cop how she threw it over her shoulder. So when it hit Susan she wasn't aiming it at her. She said.

Most people that have guns for self-defense do that, I'm not sure how that's relevant? Nevertheless in this case, her use of deadly force was what's absolutely not justified.
If you move by a train track, a busy highway, a concert area, strip, school, power line, or maybe an open grassy area in a family neighborhood where dogs and children would gravitate you have to expect some disturbance. Her saying they could hear her calls and such. Just silly. She didn’t warn AJ that she had a gun and would shoot if AJ didn’t leave? She had already called 911 and her lawyer said she at first thought it was the police come banging. What if she had shot an officer approaching AJ or what if AJ had her kids with her? What if a passerby or curious neighbour, landlord etc was in vicinity. This is why I don’t agree with everyone should have a gun. That’s my opinion and I stick by it.
This woman is old bitter and doesn't like certain people. If she's got all these ailments, why would she argue with children and throw skates and other objects.
She should be charged with more than manslaughter
They wanted to but there was insufficient evidence for that.
Susan shouldn't have been charged at all.
@angiejorah Go to hell right along with Susan. My neighbor knocked on my door at 12:28am saying my child was beating on something and his mom couldn’t sleep and my child had been asleep since 9:30p I didn’t shoot him through the door, I told him to get the hell away from my door and everyone lived.

Sometimes it's best to just move if the kids in the neighborhood is bothering you. The kids have a right to be able to go outside.
A heartbreaking case. I pray for the 4 children without their mother.

Pounding and Kicking the Door
The act of pounding and kicking the door can be seen as a clear indication of an intruder’s intent to enter the premises and potentially harm the occupant. This behavior creates a reasonable fear of imminent harm, justifying the use of deadly force in defense.
Death Threats
The inclusion of death threats escalates the situation, as it demonstrates a clear and present danger to the occupant’s life. This adds to the justification for using deadly force in self-defense.
Conclusion
Based on the provided information, it appears that shooting someone who is pounding and kicking your door, making death threats, and posing an imminent threat to your life or safety, would be considered justified self-defense in Michigan, Arizona, and California. However, it is essential to note that the specific circumstances and the individual’s perceived threat assessment would ultimately be evaluated by the legal system.
Key Considerations
The intruder’s actions (pounding and kicking the door) demonstrate a clear intent to enter and potentially harm the occupant.
The death threats escalate the situation, indicating a direct and immediate threat to the occupant’s life.
The occupant’s reasonable fear of imminent harm justifies the use of deadly force in self-defense, as per the castle doctrine and relevant state laws.
