I remember before X-Play existed, and Morgan Webb was just the nerdy background extra playing quake in the background of The Screen Savers. Then they started giving her a part time quick tips section on the screen savers. She just kept becoming more and more predominant. She went from the girl that you only saw the back of the head, and occasionally turns around to wave..........to becoming arguably THE face of the network.
Fun fact, Unscrewed with Martin Sergeant also survived Tech TV, I imagine G4 wanted to lean on late night TV. The show only lasted 6 months on G4 though. Good memories.

Yeah, not hiring the worst in gaming for the reboot cast might have made this company come back at least a couple of years. They smashed their head of the walls off a bottomless cavern the entire time. They broke their own rule, don't be a turd in the punchbowl. Well, they went to war about the dumbest things. It was NEVER, EVER about Adam, he was the farthest thing from important to the show. In fact, he was relegated to background man, by season 1 close. That's shouldnt be a dynamic hat change. He's sort of Garbage Pale Kids, it's a toy that was around then, and neat now, but that wasn't to state it was popular at all with kids at the time. It wasn't, and ya got made fun of due to the gross nature of the cards, at least in the friggin Mayberry wannabe town I grew up in. Yeah, Adam, was seem as a corporate nephew or something, his personality was very 1995 for this show, and it is NOT in a good way.

It was also about taking a better channel and gutting it in a failed attempt to expand their audience. Sad fact is they could’ve made a channel that appealed to both audiences. Instead, they alienated the larger channel and pretty much poisoned the well. The result was G4 lasted a lot longer than it should have.

Yea it was a special time. I feel like we can never have a show like AOTS or even TRL in any other era but the 2000s. If I was home those two were always on the Tv. My tv barely switched from MTV or G4 except for some Adult Swim. Well and the N. Degrassi was my guilty pleasure. I couldn’t wait for digital cable to come to my area so I can watch theN and what was then G4/Techtv.
Once I got over the pain of how terrible both the ppl and the production of the new G4 was, the dumpster fire was actually quite entertaining. If nothing else it gave us an immortalized seal clap.

I very specifically remember finding X-Play on Comcast On Demand, they had reviews on there as well as a playthrough of Chinatown from Call of Duty 4, and I just remember going, "Video games on cable!?" It blew my mind as a kid, because I didn't think it'd be possible that adults like the same games I did, so it was awesome to see. I also remember G4 showing off Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke! I miss those times.
Same. I remember my earliest X-Play memory being a review of Spider-Man 2 for PS2 and loving how I can watch a channel with people that play games. Og Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuki were just so entertaining to watch. Nowadays it's not the same, but I'm hoping the revival of G4 captures that magic again of having a channel with all things gaming

I remember finding G4 when it was TechTV. I was trying to find something interesting on and I stumbled on it. I was hooked from day 1. Adam Sessler was the first I watched.
@@gezeo750 yup. I remember back when both TechTV and G4 existed. Honestly, it seems like they only merged so that G4 could have X-play lol; everything else was pretty much tossed aside. G4 TechTV was alright, but once they dropped the TechTV branding and shows like Attack of the Show became their big program, the station went downhill fast. Last thing I remember liking was Code Monkeys, since at that time, you had X-Play, Attack of the Show, and everything else was either convention or tradeshow coverage and filler.
Oh, well. The snowflake fans who got butthurt after Frosk's monologue threw a fit online. It was actually hilarious. It wasn't gonna work since Munn and Webb didn't wanna come back. And Kevin just felt too old to be doing the same shtick from 2005.

G4tv got me through my freshman and sophomore year at college in 2006-2008. I was suicidal and lonely. I was also the only person (girl) I knew into games. So I literally had no one. It felt like having a community by watching their shows. I really loved x play and Japan's ninja warrior. Good times.
God this put a huge smile on my face. This brings me back to the days of the original Xbox, ps2, and the 360, ps3, and Wii were brand new. Watching xplay, cheat, attack of the show and etc. I wish they they brought back g4. Especially with all the tech now, g4 would be fantastic.
The fact that Olivia Munn would come back and do this reunion just creates a ton of goodwill with me. That's not to say that I harbor any ill-will towards her whatsoever, but seeing her acknowledge her roots is something I didn't expect of her. Well done. All of you.
i never really got the impression she was hiding from it, just that there needed to be some time to pass because there was some mixed feelings surrounding her leaving and the end of the network. I think they made fun of it a bit here since now there has been enough time for any hard feelings to go away.
I can’t lie.. I really teared up when Kevin and Olivia got behind the podium. Their chemistry is still amazing too. This is one of the very best things that happened this year.

Adam Savage is so over the top, so exuberant all the time that he inspires either love or hate. I never saw sessler in that light. The things that can be annoying about him stem more from his unnecessary and inaccessible use of "high brow" analogies. It feels like he's lording his intelligence over you in a way that only insecure, or unintelligent people do. Comparing a game to "a tale of two cities" might make you feel smart, but it's a virtual guarantee most of your audience won't get it. Idk. I don't mind him. I just don't find his critical voice valuable anymore when we have more insightful voices in this day and age.

Hearing the names (specifically) Adam Sessler, Kevin Pereira, Olivia Munn, Morgan Webb and Kristin Adams together makes my heart the happiest it has been in years.
Xavier Wood's speech at the end made me tear up. Watching this made me remember how much simpler things felt as a kid/teen. Being an adult in this day and age sucks at times, but this reunion has raised my spirits and put me somewhat at ease about the future. Thank you for this. I needed it.
X-Play was where I looked for my reviews I loved Adams takes on games, when the show ended we had to revert to IGN and Gamestop with their *Exaggerrated Swagger* of gaming reviews lol
That was a very funny episode. After all these years they can still crack good jokes. And I liked how they involved each one of the cast members into this and gave them some parts to say and funny things too.

I was actually pretty heartbroken when I found out that you guys were going off the air. I recorded every show you guys ever produced and I remember we went on vacation one time and I was so stoked to come home and binge-watch everything you guys made. Yea it was a special time. I feel like we can never have a show like AOTS or even TRL in any other era but the 2000s. If I was home those two were always on the Tv. My tv barely switched from MTV or G4 except for some Adult Swim. Well and the N. Degrassi was my guilty pleasure. I couldn’t wait for digital cable to come to my area so I can watch theN and what was then G4/Techtv.

This is exactly what I wanted from a reunion. Congrats to whoever wrote this for capturing the old G4 energy.
I very specifically remember finding X-Play on Comcast On Demand, they had reviews on there as well as a playthrough of Chinatown from Call of Duty 4, and I just remember going, "Video games on cable!?" It blew my mind as a kid, because I didn't think it'd be possible that adults like the same games I did, so it was awesome to see. I also remember G4 showing off Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke! I miss those times.
Same. I remember my earliest X-Play memory being a review of Spider-Man 2 for PS2 and loving how I can watch a channel with people that play games. Og Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuki were just so entertaining to watch. Nowadays it's not the same, but I'm hoping the revival of G4 captures that magic again of having a channel with all things gaming

G4 TechTV was alright, but once they dropped the TechTV branding and shows like Attack of the Show became their big program, the station went downhill fast. Last thing I remember liking was Code Monkeys, since at that time, you had X-Play, Attack of the Show, and everything else was either convention or tradeshow coverage and filler.

G4tv got me through my freshman and sophomore year at college in 2006-2008. I was suicidal and lonely. I was also the only person (girl) I knew into games. So I literally had no one. It felt like having a community by watching their shows. I really loved x play and Japan's ninja warrior. Good times.

i never really got the impression she was hiding from it, just that there needed to be some time to pass because there was some mixed feelings surrounding her leaving and the end of the network. I think they made fun of it a bit here since now there has been enough time for any hard feelings to go away.

Dude g4 was a days worth of content that got remade into 2 crappy shows and re runs. These 2 shows were not even the quality content I liked it when it was 10 dif shows about gaming. Where are all the people who got fired to show cheaters reruns? When it was down to xplay and attack of the show it was already dead. This just reminds me what a disaster it was.

Adam Savage is so over the top, so exuberant all the time that he inspires either love or hate. I never saw sessler in that light. The things that can be annoying about him stem more from his unnecessary and inaccessible use of "high brow" analogies. It feels like he's lording his intelligence over you in a way that only insecure, or unintelligent people do. Comparing a game to "a tale of two cities" might make you feel smart, but it's a virtual guarantee most of your audience won't get it. Idk. I don't mind him. I just don't find his critical voice valuable anymore when we have more insightful voices in this day and age.

Xavier Wood's speech at the end made me tear up. Watching this made me remember how much simpler things felt as a kid/teen. Being an adult in this day and age sucks at times, but this reunion has raised my spirits and put me somewhat at ease about the future. Thank you for this. I needed it.
