I would recommend one that's got a bit of features to it (like divots for the eyes and some sort of nose shape) especially if you want to make something that's similar to this particular half face prosthetic. That way you can roughly judge where air holes or where the opening for the mouth should be. You'd probably still have to fidget with it a bit to get it to fit right on your face since it won't be an exact match like it would be with a face cast. I would not recommend a foam mannequin head because the latex would just stick to that. Preferably get something sealed that the latex would lift off easily, like plastic. Hope this helps!
I love your energy !! Haha keep it up you made me laugh! This was helpful, making mine right now ! Also got my necromorph Halloween makeup idea from Ellimacs! Cheers friend ❤️🤟🏼
Do you think doing this on some wax paper would help? I’m helping my cousin make some for body prosthetics so I don’t need a face cast I just need a flat surface so maybe the prosthetic could lift a little easier
I think that should be fine. I made some flat pieces on a tray and those turned out ok. Just as long as you make sure to powder the whole thing down once it’s properly cured and then powder the underside as you lift it from the wax paper so that it doesn’t stick to itself, I don’t see why using wax paper won’t work 😊
Love it! You make me laugh. I call my viewers weirdos too. These tips will be very helpful, thank you.
Everyone's got a bit of a weirdo in them. Some people just embrace their inner weirdo more 😊 Glad you found this helpful!
What’s a good mannequin head for prosthetics?
