The hilly landscape of Guiyang, Guizhou was once the limiting step to economic development. Now, the amazing development of infrastructure has made this region the most beautiful and dramatic landscape and a real tourist draw. Its economic success is mindboggling. One of the many great aspects of this channel is building bridges. And very fittingly, Guiyang has some of the world's best bridges. The kinds I would certainly cross if I got to them.

Fantastic, how this city has been transformed to skyscape buildings and skyways roads. I only recognize the classic pavilion in the middle of the beautiful river, it was only about 20 years ago since I last visit Guiyang.
Guizhou is also rich in cultural diversity. It has unique ethnic minorities with distinctive cultural traditions . The Miao, the Dong,Buyei, Tujia,Yi and many more make this place a cultural paradise.
Would be interesting to see how far the Chinese infrastructure can go if they have 15-20 more years of non-stop development like they have had for last 20 years. As an engineer I love to see countries push boundaries and now that China has above par infra it would be nice to see them they go all the way and show the limits to rest of the world like Japan used to do recently.
I'm from Malaysia and I hope our city mayor learn from China how important is infrastructure. Its the fundamental need to create more growth and economy.

My family went for a scenic tour in Guizhou before the pandemic. What a beautiful landscape! We asked local people, travel guide and drivers, they all felt very positive of their living in future. Due to the mountainous landscape, most parts of this province were hard to connect with other economic developed areas in China. while in the last decade or so, the central and local government put huge investment on infrastructure: bridges, roads and high-speed railways. Since then they saw increasing number of travel groups, and their farm products/fruits can be delivered much quicker to coastal cities to make better margin. And there're also large investment on 5G/telecommunications/database center. I would say Guizhou will enjoy fast economic growth at least in the next several years.

Would be interesting to see how far the Chinese infrastructure can go if they have 15-20 more years of non-stop development like they have had for last 20 years. As an engineer I love to see countries push boundaries and now that China has above par infra it would be nice to see them they go all the way and show the limits to rest of the world like Japan used to do recently.
Guilin, China is also very beautiful. Since ancient times, it has been known as "Guilin's landscape is the best in the world".

Futuristic view. Western cities look like villages compared to this
My family went for a scenic tour in Guizhou before the pandemic. What a beautiful landscape! We asked local people, travel guide and drivers, they all felt very positive of their living in future. Due to the mountainous landscape, most parts of this province were hard to connect with other economic developed areas in China. while in the last decade or so, the central and local government put huge investment on infrastructure: bridges, roads and high-speed railways. Since then they saw increasing number of travel groups, and their farm products/fruits can be delivered much quicker to coastal cities to make better margin. And there're also large investment on 5G/telecommunications/database center. I would say Guizhou will enjoy fast economic growth at least in the next several years.

Capitalist West in the biggest problem that the human species faces right now, you'd need to be brain washed by western media censorship so hard (eg.: books like 1984) to not be able see how glorious Socialiam from East is amazing and life changing. Poorest city looks more developed than the richest city in my country (South Africa)
It's not the poorest city in China, it just locates in the poorest province in China. This city maybe rank around 70 or 80 in China.
