I am a "Hispanic - Latino", and I hate that word because in Spanish that word already has a meaning, the Latin language. The constant use of that word has greatly distorted its meaning even here. Some people are so ignorant that they think their language is called "Latin" and only in Spain is it called Spanish (the original name of the language is "castellano", or Castilian in English). But most people use "latino" or "hispanic" to make race differentiations between mestizos or Amerindians. and that custom spread around here too. A total mess, thanks U.S.A.
My ancestors are Spanish and Portuguese, I’m pale as they come but ever since I moved to the States I’ve been labeled “Hispanic” and that shit plays against you.

@Rico Taylor You need to learn what really Latin/Latino means and it doesn't have anything to do with race or ethnicity. "LATIN" which is the correct way to say it in English and not "LATINO" refers only to Language and Culture. Both Roman, both Italian. www.latino-news.press

Latino - People of/or countries that speak a language derived from Latin (typically used in the Americas). Hispanic - People of/or countries that speak Spanish (more typically used in the Americas). Lusophone - People who speak the Portuguese language around the world. Luso/Lusitano - People from Portugal (used in honour of the 'Lusitani' Celtic tribe that inhabited most of Portugal). Iberian - People of Spain and Portugal. I.e., people of the Iberian Peninsula. Note: Although technically speaking Latino can refer to Spanish and Portuguese people (as both are speakers of a Latin language), and Hispanic can apply to Spanish people (as the namesake literally refers to people of Spain or speaker of Spanish), neither of the two are commonly used in Spain and Portugal.
Or Latin America, by the derivation of Latin-European countries... But in this same reasoning, the USA and Canada should also be considered partially Latin countries since the USA has Spanish descendants and influence since its origin and Canada even more so with French descendants and influence (France is part of Latin Europe too).

So here is a Spaniard's opinion on the whole video (not the reaction video). People from spain, we dont call or identify ourselves as latinos or hispanic. We arent Latino because SPAIN got that term from Napoleon to describe people from south america. And the word Hispanic is "dead", our country is not HISPANIA anymore, its fcking ESPAÑA, you guys dont call the USA "The colonies" anymore, dp you? people from spain are either called Spanish or Spaniards. Spanish is "wierd" because in the USA, spanish means latino, while in Europe or anywhere else in the world spanish means "person from spain". That's it.
Spanish is still applied to people from Spain here. It's just that unfortunately, lots of Americans are very stupid and ignorant and refuse to believe that the Spanish language came from Europe, they're too stupid to realize that Mexico isn't the only Spanish speaking country in existence and they don't take the time to study geography. Only smart Americans know this.
The Definition of Latino as stated in the video, Anyone decending from a Country in Europe that speaks a Romance Language. It showed French as well. Would that not mean that Creaole and French Canadians are Latino?
Latino is every person raised in countries where Latin-derived languages called "Romace Languages" are spoken. Hispano is only for people raised in countries where Spanish (Spanish), Catalan, Valencian, Galician and all derivatives of Latin linguistics are spoken in the territory of Roman Spain called Hispania.
@@rafaeltaboada1176 Totally wrong. People from Latin America are "Latin Americans". Latino, first is wrong in English . The right way is LATINS then the term Latin (Latino) already has a 2000 year old meaning and has nothing to do with Latin America which was named this way by the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards, because their languages derive from the Latin language of the Romans. These are the real Latin people: Italians, French, Romanians, Portuguese and Spaniards. Stop the lies. www.latino-news.press
Dude, Latin comes from the Roman Empire, and 5 languages speak it. that is Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. The term Hispanic, comes from hispania which you saw in the video, meaning spain which are people who speak Spanish in Latin America who obviously have Spanish ancestry. You also have Hispanics/Latinos in the U.S who speak Spanish and have Spanish ancestry no different from Latin America. Brazilian are also considered Latinos because they speak Latin, but they are not Hispanic because they don’t speak nor have Spanish ancestry, they have Portuguese ancestors. That’s the best way to explain it, because this video sucks.
And that video is exactly why no one uses those terms outside of the US, they're too ambiguous so it's just best to go with the country they're from, simple 😉
@@mrlurious949 canada is basically USA 2.0 no offence to canadians, quebec people are the only canadians who are actually their own nation, and all anglo countries, countries that speak english are adopting this thinking because of american cultural imperialism and influence,
There is a reason for all this confusion. The western powers have always had a tendency of trying to group people artificially. Look at what they did to the Middle East for example. Latin or Latin-america are artificial terms made up to simplify what cannot and should not be simplified, a very complex and diverse region, a bolivian and a uruguayan have nothing in common other than the spanish language and colonial history, two different cultures, almost opposite of each other. Latin america doesn't exist, it is not a thing.
Every nation does that. Is not just "The Western Powers". Is every country that engage in colonialism or Imperialism. aka every nation that CAN will try to groups other in a way that makes sense to them. Especially if they need to organize or administrate vast stretches of land.
This is the best explanation I've seen ever on this subject. Because I've always been confused by all this. It just never made sense. Thanks Munich FX.
Lmao bro that’s video is so confusing, Hispanic means the person speaks Spanish and Latino means the person is from Latin America. Easy! So, Brazil people is Latino but not Hispanic. Haha and that’s it!
In simpler terms, yes, but wonderwhy went in depth to why the terms are so ambiguous. Hispanic may refer to Spanish speaking nations but Hispania wasn't just spain but also portugal. Latino on the other hand is a very broad term, although mostly used to refer to hispanics it also includes Brazil, but their are other romance speaking nations and regions in the America. Also it's up for debate whether or not creole languages based on romance languages should be considered Romance, in this case plenty of regions in the gulf of Mexico would also be Hispanic due to french influence. this would also extend the number of hispanics since there are some Spanish Creoles scattered around the world.
yeah but the main reason for calling us latinos is because our language is castillian or "spanish" which is by the way a romance language that at the same time is a language that came from latin. Italian, frech, portuguese , romanian and else are also romance languages. Latino is just a fukcing dumb word someone decided to use to name us. France, Italy, Portugal , Romania can be perfectly latin countries since most of their language and culture came from Rome (greeco latin culture). Its better for.people to call us hispanic to refers to countries heavily influence by Spain during the age of conquest (XVI) but even this is not well viewed here. Andean civilization gave birth to andean culture and for some countries like Ecuador Peru or Bolivia being called andeans is right to since the heavy influence of spain in the original culture and cosmovision hadnt kill the andean culture at all but mixed.
Yes with everything but I think you mean Spanish speaking country. Cuz if like say a Russian in Russia speaks Spanish. That doesn't mean they are Hispanic
The definions of latino will be different depending on the language and country. In Spanish and other romance languages for example Latino is someone who's culture or language is of latin origin. So some Europeans are latinos, even more latinos than Latin americans since they are direct decendants of the romans or latin people. In the USA the term latino actually refers only to Latin Americans. So europeans are not considered latinos there. The term latino was not very popular until mid of the last century after more Mexicans, Central and South Americans began to migrate to the country. They needed a category to classify those new immigrants who in the most part were not white, black or native in the census. These immigrants who didn't fit any of those categories called themselves latinos and eventually it become very popular among americans. So the government decided to adopted the spanish word "Latino Americano" or simply latino (They cut off the word *American* lol) to this new category. The term latino was originally a racial category but in the past few years its began to be considered a ethnic group and now you have to specify if you are latino and your race.
Hello Devon Unfortunately i must say that surprisingly no one in the comments and even less in the video they have suggested you, has made mention that the word "Latin" derives from "Latium" which is the region where Rome is located and its inhabitants are called "Latins". The ancient Romans spoke Latin. Italian Spanish French Portuguese and Romanian are considered Romance languages. After the fall of the Roman Empire, everyone developed their own language over time, while maintaining the roots of "Latin" The term "Hispanic" was initially used by Americans to differentiate Americans from Spanish-speaking South American countries. In Brazil they speak Portuguese and are not Hispanics, however they are Latin because the language is of Latin derivation. Thus, anyone who is of Spanish or French or Portuguese origin is considered Latin. My name is Enrico and I'm from Rome. I hope I have been useful for your search and I would like to point out that even the English language has hundreds of Latin words but it seems that no one has noticed. Try with the Google translator .... Best wishes Enrico Da Vinci Joking ....
Most of the land indeed, was owned by Spain at one point, but there was not enough of a population of Spaniards to say most U.S. citizens have Spanish ancestry. Most of the U.S. population has ancestry from England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, and Italy. Mainly do to the immigrants from 1850 to the 1930's.
As a Portuguese/Brazilian american, this to me is splitting hairs. Most north americans (who are not latin) just assume that I'm hispanic. Even my surname (Silva) is common in both hispanic and portuguese speaking countries. Many of the surnames are so similar that folks naturally assume we're all hispanic (Rodrigues/Rodriguez, Mendes/Mendez....I could go on). Even hispanics (Mexicans) always assume I'm a hermano.

..."if you have ancestors from spain that makes you hispanic" but "Portugal and Brasil are not Hispanic"...well, Portugal was part of the Hispanias before Aragão, Castilla, Gallicia and Lea joined together as Spain. Portugal started out as a county from Leao & Castilla Kingdom (Spain's beta version), they were the same people and share the same ancestors. Then Brasil came into play...mix of indigenous people, Portuguese and later africans...by the very same definition that should made everyone hispanic...
Also important to note that Hispanic isn't considered a race. Many people make that mistake. You can be a hispanic of European descent, a hispanic of African descent (due to the slave trade to Central/South America and the Caribbean) or a mix of both or a mix of either along with Indigenous American
The word latin comes from Italy and then they spread out the Latin language to Spain Portugal France, and then those countries spread their language to Latin America
Simple Hispanic: Person whose mother tongue is Spanish and comes from a country colonized by Spain. Latin: it comes from the basic distinction of the part of America whose language is not an Anglo-Saxon language, it means that every person from Mexico to Argentina is Latin American (Latinos are also Americans always remember it )
Latino means you are a native speaker from a latin lenguage (a lenguage which comes from latin, like Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Romanian)
Something relevant to get is that most people in south american do not classify themselves as latino or hispanic, but as their country. This division is mostly made by outsiders, we divide ourselves by nationalities, and sometimes even inside nations, between regions or capital.
They forgot to mention the significant black populations that came to South and Central America especially the Caribbean through slavery. They significantly shaped and contributed to the different cultures especially in the Caribbean!

Great video! Enjoying watching these videos as I am also learning. One thing I would like to mention, the word Amerindian is simply a shortened version 'American Indian', in other words Native American. Amerindian people exist all the way from tip of South America all the way to Alaska. I will give you an example, I am from Colombia. Both of my parents are born and bred Colombians (although I am British now as I live/grew up in Europe.) I took an ancestry DNA test and according to the test I am exactly half American Indian (Amerindian, Native American, etc) and half European. According to a site called Gedmatch, which is a site that goes deeper into your DNA, my five closest populations are Colombia (no surprise), Mexico, Hopi, Apache and Miwok people. Looking deeper into it, all Native American people in the Americas are related to each other, although culturally we are all very different despite sharing common traits and beliefs. Despite the fact that I am 'mestizo' I almost always refer to myself as Latino/Hispanic as the biggest language in Colombia is Spanish. There are around 65 Native American languages spoken within Colombia, some of them becoming more widespread since the Colombian government removed a ban on schools teaching Amerindian languages (I believe this only happened recently in the 90s or new millennium). Pretty interesting stuff! An interesting fact: The reason people refer to Native Americans as Red Indians or Indians is because a famous explorer (I will let you find out who it is) took a wrong turn and thought he had landed in India. Native American people are not connected to people from India in anyway, according to anthropologists Amerindian people are part of a 'Mongol race' which includes other people such as Chinese, Siberians, Japanese, Koreans, etc. For anyone interested my maternal haplogroup is A2. Apparently it is one of the most common haplogroups in both the Americas and North East Siberia/Alaska.
You are absolutely correct because Millions of "Hispanics" don't have a drop of blood from Spain, we could be %100 Indigenous %100 Black %100 white from any other European country except Spain or a mix of other countries, I am from a Spanish speaking country but from Indigenous German and black ancestry.
It´s easy to understand... Latino = All countries speak languages from latin in any part of the world. Latinoamerican = All countries of America speak any language from latin (Spanish, French and Portuguese officially). Hispanic America = All countries only speak Spanish. Iberoamerica = All countries only speak Portuguese and Spanish. All of these are only for languages basically, not for DNA, etc. The DNA (race) is another question. Canada have the French language but the English language too, for this reason I don´t know if Canada is not considered a latino´s country too or yes for definition. It´s my unique doubt. Regards.
Canada that is Quebec a a Latin province . It's incorrect to say "Latino" when writing or talking in English. The correct way is LATIN. So Quebec is a "Latin Province" of Canada.
Spanish, italians, portugues, frenchs, etc... are latinos, because we speak a lenaguage that comes from latin, actually we are as much latins as the people from latin america or even more..
There’s confusion cause English. In Spanish, Latino means Latin American, and Latin in Spanish means the language and the people IN EUROPE descendants of Latin people in the Roman Empire. So in Spanish Latin and Latino mean completely different things. In Europe, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Romania, etc are all descendants of Roman Empire and Latin language. They are the original latins, only Spain is Hispanic, cause Hispanic just means from Spain. Latinos are mixed descendants, so Spanish and native (or Portuguese, or French...) all people from the americas that speak a Latin based language are latinos, and in those countries there might be people which Hispanic origin, so they could be Hispanic AND Latinos cause of their place of origin.
The Latino language comes from Latin, which was the language of the Romans in ancient times, and today, Italian, Spanish, French, among other languages, is Latin evolved over time.
@Rico Taylor First of all it's Latin and not Latino when writing or speaking in English. Secondly the Latin comes fro Italy and not from Latin America. Then Latin refers to the Latin Language of the Romans and the languages evolved from the Latin known as Romance languages: Italian, French, Romanian, Portuguese and Spanish then Latin refers to the Latin culture of the Roman. When you say that you are a Latin 9 Latino/Latina in Italian, Romanian. Portuguese and Spanish languages) you are basically saying that you have inherited the language and culture of the Romans. I think confusion is that in spanish "latino=romance" (spanish, portuguese, italian, french, rumanian,... are idioms which come from latin that roman empire spoke) And "latinoamaricano=romance in america".Brasil speaks portuguese, a romance language, French Guiana, Haiti, Martinique,Dominica, french; and all except Canada, Usa, and small islands as Barbados, Trinidad Tobago, Netherlands Antilles, Aruba, Jamaica, Surinam... are hispanic countries (which spanish is spoken) Some similar to diferences "anglo-saxon"(instead of hispanic) and "american indo-european sppeakers"(instead of latinoamericans) like in Surinam. For hispanic people and romance languages, latino and latinoamarican is not identical, because for them Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Rumania, are latinos too.

The term "latino" originally as used by us (Endonym) in the U.S was simply SHORT for Latin American (meaning Spanish speaking or of a Spanish speaking Latin American country descent. (NOT including The Guyana's, Trinidad, Brazil, Haiti, Jamaica etc) Hispanic was the term used in the late sixties-late seventies. A better term maybe would be LATIN AMERICAN HISPANIC. We' never tried to appropriate the term of the original Latins from Lacio (Latium) (The Italian Peninsula) When we saw someone we perceived as "Hispanic" (Mestizos or Mulattoes) we would say maybe He/She is "Latino" We wouldn't called him?her Puerto Rican, Dominica, Colombian because we didn't know just by looking. We actually call each other by our country of origin CUBANO, COLOMBIANO, BOLIVIANO, PERUANO, GUATEMALTECO, ETC
Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname are also non-Hispanic South American countries (except French Guiana, which is still a French territory and not a country). Fun fact: Brazil is the country that has the longest border with France because of French Guiana.
No I wouldn’t say everything under the US is latino, the video says that it includes central, South American and Caribbean countries that speak a latin/Romance language.

A really fascinating deep dive into a problem/concept that has been going on in Europe for centuries. I'm British- but I understand and can speak a fair amount of Spanish and Portuguese and Italian and French. I've had holidays in all those countries. I can generally try to make myself known in all those romance languages. The thing about being British is that so many other European countries expect so little from you when it comes to talking a foreign language that they all work REALLY hard to understand you and try to speak to you slowly and clearly in their own langiages in the vain hop that a Brit might learn something. A hell of a lot you're talking about and what people are thinking about comes down to 'cultural' stuff. So if you go to Portugal and hear someone speaking Spanish the Portuguese will do their best to understand everything you say. If you go to Spain and speak Portuguese the Spanish will tell you that they don't understand a single word you say. As far as I'm concerned they're all Hispanics talking HIspanic languages. The difference between Portuguese and Spanish in Europe is largely minimal (despite what the Spanish say). It gets one hell of a lot more difficult when you get to Latin America. Largely - and only currently for the moment - Brazilian Portuguese is regarded as the 'best' Portuguese - so I can mumble away in my Portuguese in Brazil and expect people to understand me. But the accents and dialects of Spanish that you get spoken in Mexico and Peru and Bolivia and Argentina are all very different. They're all speaking a version of Spanish but it takes a couple of minutes to understand the different accents. And you don't always know that a word you'd use in Spain would mean the same if you used it in Chile. I'm saying this from the position of someone who basically knows Spanish people and from that they've said about their experiences in Latin America. If in doubt I can use Italian or French to get an idea across in Spain or Portugal. It might not be perfect - but the idea/concept is got across. If I try to use that same trick in Bolivia or Peru - the locals think I'm speaking gibberish. When I'm in Mexico or Panama I can use my crappy Spanish to communicate and reasonably expect someone to have a bit of understanding of what I'm saying. Therefore I'd think of those countries as Hispanic. But once I go south of those countries I'd consider myself as a latin speaker.
Good point on Mexico having been much larger (extending far into current-dat USA) and therefore Latin America have included California, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico etc
Now then problem broadens when ppl start using these terms referring to race. In certain areas, specifically when it comes to money, calling yourself Hispanic can work against you. Where I’m from unfortunately the native Indians were mostly exterminated so our population is majority Caucasian, and that’s what I thought my race was til I moved to the States. Here, just because I speak Spanish, I’m automatically labeled with “Hispanic” as my race, and although I don’t mind because I do identify as such, it can be a crutch. When filling out applications for example and you are asked your race. Some specify that I can only choose one option, and there i see both Caucasian and Hispanic, so which do I chose? From experience I’d tell you to always say Caucasian because you will pay less interest rates when buying a car for example.
Hispanic is for spanish speakers, not for Spain descendants. Latino is short for latino americano. It denotes place of birth, at most some cultural ties to Latin America. Germanic and mediterranean whites, blacks, middle easterns, east asians... they can all be latinos.
Latin America refers only to the geographic sector of Spanish-speaking countries. To be Hispanic is to be of Latin American origin. In South America, mainly in Argentina and Uruguay, the vast majority of inhabitants are of European descent (Spain and Italy for the most part and the rest Germany, Poland, Russia), however, they are still Latino.
People should get that the terms hispanic and latino are primarily geographical terms rather than "cultural" Hispanic means you're from a spanish speaking country and I do think Equatorial Guinea shoul be considered so Hispanic: Spain, Spanish America and Equatorial Guinea (maybe the Philipennes) Latino is short for Latin American so Latino: Spanish America, Brazil, French America (Quebec but not Canada as a whole) If your form the US you could mabel yourself with any of those definitons hiwever that doesnt define your race, you could be mestizo, white, black and any other race Saying you should have spanish heritage excludes for example Argentina, most people have italian descent, but they're still hispanic cause they speak spanish and latino cause they're from latin america Gish it isnt really that complicated lmao and remember, its not a race
In the hispanic world, we use the word hispanic for everyone who speak spanish natively, so... i don't know if the video use another definition for the word.. but for what you learn in the hispanic world, he is wrong.. i understand that the roman province of hispania is where the word originate, but the modern use of the word isn't that anymore. And for Latino, i know the US use another definition, but for most of the world is any country or person who speak a romance language natively.
Hispanic is an ethnic group it's like if I was Japanese in America if I was going to do a job application I would put Asian if I were Mexican I would put Hispanic if I were from Spain I would put Hispanic
Sorry, but I'm from Argentina, the one who made the video doesn't know much, in Paraguay we speak Spanish, in Latin America we all speak Spanish, but all countries have different accents and words. For example, here in Argentina we call couples "novios" and in Chile "pololos".
I'm hispanicus! XD I'm fuckin dead.... Yeah shit get complicated. I didn't like how they didn't include Latinos of African descent in Latin America identifying as Hispanic/latino. They are a big part of our culture.
In the sense everybody understand this, the explanation is simple: Napolion III's France invented "latino" to set aside Spain from Spanish America. Because France is that kind of unbearable stepsister that believes she is the very best the mosti beautiful but never did such great actions as the one she believes that it's the ugly (Spain) stepsister. Envy. At the same time, after secession of big part of America from Spain (Hispanic America never was owned by Spain. It was Spain), the new leaders concern about to separate spirits of the population from Spain. So they joined to this French idea. England was also enthusiastic about using this. Definitive victory. Not only divide the territory of its enemy, also destroy it's heritage.
You are all confused and know nothing about the meaning of Latin and where this great heritage comes from. It's you in Latin America who are neither Latins nor Hispanics. You simply speak Latin-derived languages, French, Portuguese and Spanish, which were imposed upon you by the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards. No, there is no Latin Skin Color, there is no Latin DNA in Latin America, there is no Latin Food, there is no Latin Music, there is no Latin Dance and you cannot be half Latin and half African because Latin is not a DNA.

But this is English in Spanish is totally wrong.
I’m both, I’m learning. Oh, Amerindian, Mestizo too. (Among others!)
Thanks, this is confusing and interesting as all-get-out! ✌🏼
Hello Devon
Unfortunately i must say that surprisingly no one in the comments and even less in the video they have suggested you, has made mention that the word "Latin" derives from "Latium" which is the region where Rome is located and its inhabitants are called "Latins".
The ancient Romans spoke Latin.
Italian Spanish French Portuguese and Romanian are considered Romance languages.
After the fall of the Roman Empire, everyone developed their own language over time, while maintaining the roots of "Latin"
The term "Hispanic" was initially used by Americans to differentiate Americans from Spanish-speaking South American countries.

One thing I would like to mention, the word Amerindian is simply a shortened version 'American Indian', in other words Native American. Amerindian people exist all the way from tip of South America all the way to Alaska. I will give you an example, I am from Colombia. Both of my parents are born and bred Colombians (although I am British now as I live/grew up in Europe.)
I took an ancestry DNA test and according to the test I am exactly half American Indian (Amerindian, Native American, etc) and half European.

The word Latino is from the ancient Roman empire, and the ancient idiom called Latin, the mother of a lot of idioms in europe

The best explanation written below by Munich FX is that there is no such thing. Now that makes more sense.
People in Latin America are mostly INDIOS/INDIAS (This is their RACE) and they are "Latin Americans. NO Latin, No Latino no nothing.

Which is why Haiti is latin but not Jamaica. Or why Belize isn’t because they speak English even tough they are in Central America.
my definition.
Latino : People south of the USA and Canada which have descendance from either France, Portugal or Spain
Hispanic : People with cultural ties to the Kingdom of Hispania excluding Equatorial Guinea

@@techniclima3752 what is your definition then?
Idk why when I read DaVinci I read Vespucci instead
I’m pretty sure I spelled Vespucci wrong
Portuguese are latino latino is the spainish word latin america was never even a thing there lauguage comes from latin thats y there called latin america not cuz of where its at
Brazil doesn’t speak spanish
And in Mexico they speak Spanish and their native language and their all different language and different tribes. The mexicas/Aztec speak Nahuatl. We even use it, like aguacate 🥑 chocolate 🍫 etc...
As a portuguese i personally find italian specially from Sardinia easier to learn and more similar to portuguese than Spanish
So Portuguese are Latino correct?
Good point on Mexico having been much larger (extending far into current-dat USA) and therefore Latin America have included California, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico etc
Not really as those territories were very sparsely populated with Mexicans and Latins, it was not easy to live in and were mostly settled by Americans
Yes those states were part of the first Mexican empire. Some of the people were known as Californios. California was way bigger.
People should get that the terms hispanic and latino are primarily geographical terms rather than "cultural"
Hispanic means you're from a spanish speaking country and I do think Equatorial Guinea shoul be considered so
Hispanic: Spain, Spanish America and Equatorial Guinea (maybe the Philipennes)
Latino is short for Latin American so
Latino: Spanish America, Brazil, French America (Quebec but not Canada as a whole)
If your form the US you could mabel yourself with any of those definitons hiwever that doesnt define your race, you could be mestizo, white, black and any other race
Saying you should have spanish heritage excludes for example Argentina, most people have italian descent, but they're still hispanic cause they speak spanish and latino cause they're from latin america
Gish it isnt really that complicated lmao
and remember, its not a race
Most people in hispanic countries in latin America have a huge or at least some % of Spanish blood.
you got check the wars we have in south america, ts crazy!
For me as a brazilian it would be easier just call “Brazilian, Colombian, Mexican, etc. 😅
Latin (Latino) refers only to Language and Culture and they both come from Roman Italy. And the correct way is not Latino. When speaking and writing in English the correct way is LATIN whether masculine or feminine.
Stop the lies and learn. www.latino-news.press
*Latin (Latino) refers only to Language and Culture and they both come from Roman Italy*
;)... Do you think they will ever learn??? lol :):):):):)
I think it was the Americans that screw up by using the Spanish word: "Latino" to refer to Latin America people
@@lxportugal9343 Actually it was not the Americans. It was a Mexican man with a strange name of Frank del Olmo. He wanted to unite all the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas under one label but he chose the wrong "Latino" label instead of using "Latin American/s" and he fooled the U.S. Census Bureau into adopting "Latino" as an Ethnicity for his people. No, it was not the Americans. The "Americans" will call any minority people any names that they want because the "Americans" pander to all minorities. So in case the Spanish-speaking people wanted to call themselves Chinos the "Americans" will call them "Chinos" or if they wanted to call themselves "New Irish" the "Americans" will call them "New Irish". This is the story in the United States.
