I didn't get the job, but overall, it was a positive experience. I believe I performed well, particularly on the tech questions, which comprised about 40% of the interview. There was a strong focus on LP questions, and I felt confident in my responses. While I'll take this experience as an opportunity for personal growth, I'm considering that Amazon might not be the right fit for me at this moment. I want to express my gratitude for the helpful video that aided me in my preparation.

Not going to lie, this was very legit Trevor! Have to hand it to you!!! Very insightful and informative! Highlight was getting a view into how you prepared for your AWS interview.
Hey Trevor, I watched your video twice and took notes 3 days before the interviews, and then watched it one more time after the interviews for some self-reflection. I got the SDE internship offer 2 days later all thanks to you! For those who are interested, I created 11 stories and 9 of them got used up during interviews! I definitely couldn't have made it through without this prep.
Thanks a lot for this great video! I particularly appreciated the emphasis on action and result in the STAR stories and the idea of connecting multiple leadership principles in each story. My loop is coming up next week.
@@l0g4nSm1th It went well! I got the job! :D I will start on September 1, 2024. I think what really helped me to succeed was: 1. Learning all the LPs almost by heart and really understanding them. This playlist from CEO Andy Jassy helped th-cam.com/video/My-2-MyxamQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=InsideAmazon 2. Writing down 10 really good stories and structure them by STAR. Ideally, each story can be used for multiple LPs relevant to the role that you are interviewing for. Give each story a title so that by reading only the title you'll be able to remember the story. 3. Telling each story at least 2 times to a friend, receiving feedback, and refining the stories. Was the story easy to understand? Was it impressive? What part of the story should you focus more on? 4. Writing down all story titles on 1-2 pages and add the relevant LPs. Print the pages and hang them visibly behind your computer so that you can read them if you're blanking on coming up with a good story. 5. Being relaxed and confident because you'll be well prepared. Good luck everyone! :)
I found you on TH-cam and watched your video on "prepping for the Amazon loop" at least three times. It was completely different from all the other TH-cam prep videos I found and INCREDIBLY helpful. Out of all the videos I watched, it was by far the most straightforward and constructive. For some reason, it put my mind at ease and broke down how to prepare for the Loop most calmly and concisely. if you're having a software dev interview, you need about 100 hundred hours to prepare. Yes ONE HUNDRED, 90 on the technical part, 10 on the other parts
The start method is useless. Why? Because most of the applicants make up their stories. They lie. Most of them do not have the experience they are talking about. I've talked to multiple people at Amazon who did that to get the job.
@@trevspires Pointless because people are providing false information. Lying. I would prefer to be questioned about my experience in a conversational style because I have seen too many great Amazon employees who did not get the job only because their replies were not in STAR order. How stupid that is! If the people who were interviewing them just asked specific questions they would have gotten the information they needed. At the same time right now I work with a manager at Amazon who is my partner who told me she lied and made up stories to get the job. She is not qualified for the job you know why? Because she does not possess the skills she described in her fairy tales to those who interviewed her.
Do you have a useful one if STAR is useless. If you can't help people get a job as Trev is doing, just keep a mute. Let those who needs this get it. Thank you Trev.
@@trevspires It's useless for the company. When the stories you are telling during the interview are never verified it opens up Pandora's box when you are hiring liars without claimed experience and achievements, besides the skill of telling fake stories.
@@oladiamonds Yes. "Could you tell me about your experience? What have you done in the past, how, when, who can I ask about it?" Ask questions in a regular friendly conversation and try to get specific answers that you need to make the final decision. Ask for references to verify information. Ask questions to filter out liars because when you realize you hired a liar without the skills you were looking for you would spend even more time and money to get another one.

So mostly just be honest, and think if ways you could do something better based on what you learned in a given Story/Project
Thaks Trevor!
The story you gave on how fast you were able to turn around a product didn't answer the question, which was about a time you missed a customer deadline.
I could not understand the name of the author of videos you suggest us to watch.
Hi Trevor. Are their any technical questions asked in the loop interview or is it only behavorial?
Depends on the role! Your recruiter can confirm based on the job family.

Thank you very much!
thanks!
if you're having a software dev interview, you need about 100 hundred hours to prepare. Yes ONE HUNDRED, 90 on the technical part, 10 on the other parts
Nice shirt!!
you are god !!! your video is helping me a lot! thank you so much for doing this!
Love that it helped!! Thank you so much
Great❤🎉🎉🎉
The start method is useless. Why? Because most of the applicants make up their stories. They lie. Most of them do not have the experience they are talking about. I've talked to multiple people at Amazon who did that to get the job.
@@YouTooProduction they got the job
So it’s useless how again?? 😄😂🤣
What have you done in the past, how, when, who can I ask about it?" As an HR or any other company employee interviewing me try to investigate what I can or cannot do. Ask questions in a regular friendly conversation and try to get specific answers that you need to make the final decision. Ask for references to verify information. Ask questions to filter out liars because when you realize you hired a liar without the skills you were looking for you would spend even more time and money to get another one.
My Loop interview is in 3 hours
Amazon is a huge company with so many positions, saying you work at AWS means next to nothing. The SDE loop is much different than a SA loop
25 questions?! I’m good, rather apply at a startup.
good swaters, bears ftw
Didn't know Tom Segura had a brother
I am 5 minutes 40 seconds in I haven't learned a thing yet.
I am in 13 min 40 seconds in and you just kept repeating the same information over and over and over again and this information is already so common about Amazon interview exists in even their own site. I don't see the point of some commentators who were so happy with your video...
It is amazing how there are millions of videos about crushing a loop interview, yet they pretend to be unique. It is all the same..
I literally wasted 18 minutes of my time hoping I would learn something
