I remember when I started learning this I immediatelly realized that is was so much more uncomfortable to play than people make it sound. I will definitely use you advise and finish learning it. I'm excited for your thoughts on no.19, which is my absolute favorite.
Greg, thanks for the fingering suggestions at measure #7. I've been using my 2nd finger for the f# for the left hand for a long time. I was never happy with the results though. I will try your suggestions.👍
Greg, not for this prelude but in general, what do you believe are the 3 most important differences between Chopin's Graf pianos and the modern piano that should inform how his pieces are interpreted?
I think that a really important aspect of studying Chopin in particular is to understand what pianos he was using throughout his compositional career. The limitations of those instruments placed limitations on his expression of ideas. As an example, if the length of the descresendo of a note was far shorter on the 1830s and 1840s pianos, it might justify slowing down some of the tempos that Chopin indicated.
That's right! I like the way you also include well known exercises for hand coordination. Your interpretation is on point and mentioning the finger dexterity is great. I will memorise my favorite preludes once I can do this: th-cam.com/video/FddyRVamBj4/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Grzegorz%28Greg%29Niemczuk correctly. I can't wait to start practice memorising a piece after 2 years! I have an exam 1 week later so I must be patient about music for now. I am enjoying your Tutorials! They are like a break for me after working for long.
Chopin preludes is my favourite Chopin's work. I'm learning a lot with your tutorials. Thank you so much for this.
Thanks!!! I have just published my new CD with the Preludes! Check it out on Spotify on my name: Grzegorz Niemczuk
@@gregniemczuk oh! Thank you for the info , I'll chek it for sure.
Very useful, thank you!

I will treat left hand part as an exercise first and maybe with time I will be able to speed up a little bit :D
