      I remember a couple years ago I was doing charity at a Walmart and I saw a promotion for the military and they had a tank and Santa was in the tank

      Santa on a fire truck is also pretty Australian. Where I'm from in oz on Xmas Eve the local countryfire authority fire truck drives along every street in town throwing out candy (lollies in Aussie English) to kids. It's also a great way to raise some money during fire season.

    I wonder if they know the folks over at Hercules in Syracuse. Same process and same length of time in business. So happy to see traditional methods still used. Candy is an art.

    The brittles looks like a popular Indian 🇮🇳 snack called *Gurbadam* or Jaggery Peanut where instead of sugar we use Jaggery

    I've made a lot of peanut brittle for Christmas over the year but never seen it made with beer, used to make home made candles for years .

    Great episode, ordered me up some of that delicious looking brittle. 😋 I was bummed out that I couldn’t get any hand made candy canes as they were sold out. I’ll be on the lookout next Christmas season.

    Nick and Debbie, I am a candy lover and wonder this: If Debbie added flavoring to the red "sugar" part of the candy cane, it might be a smash hit! Peppermint (white) and cherry or raspberry (red) comes to mind! Yummy! 🍒

      Yes indeed! I'm a teacher and for elementary school science, we make taffy from time to time, "The Science of Food." It is very much like making candy canes or the earlier stages of brittle making. I will be sure to show the students this video when that time rolls along.
