Hope you don’t live near me … there is some plumber who is going to go into Home Depot and they are all gone!!!

Layering colors is absolutely essential when it comes to painting these kinds of projects. I'm working on a faux brick wall that will end up with 10-12 different colors by the time it's done. I'm only half way there, and it already looks better than the real brick of the house I live in.

Hahahahaha! Exactly… or it looks off! Comes out way too flat!

I’m late to the party again on this one, the kids have been poorly so only just watched it.
Another excellent video Mr Cash a your attention to detail is second to none. It’s nice you managed to use some greeblies left by your late father in law, it’s a nice nod to his memory 👌🏼 I was also impressed with how you held back on the weathering, although you made sure the “rock” piece was well weathered still 😉.
You never fail to impress me with your builds and love the fact you share your mistakes and failed attempts, but it also great to see you use them to test fit and paint parts, so they e not been a total waste.
As always, keep doing what you do and all the best from me and mine to you and yours 👊🏼

Never too late Steve! I appreciate any support whenever it comes! It was nice to use those and I think even my wife liked this build! And, YES, it was hard to not keep weathering it! I think my brain came up with the story JUST so I could weather something! Thanks again for the comment and hope you family is feeling better!

@@trytofinishsomething I dont have a laser cutter but perhaps I can take your file and extrude it for 3D printing... It will be next on the list. Currently working on an accessory for my astromech...

good intentioned mixing tip: if you want a color to become lighter (adding the orange to the brown) it saves a lot of paint it you 'start over' and add the darker color (your brown so far) to the lighter (the orange).

Hello Shawn, can you tell me, from what material the base-panel is made of? Is it PVC, Plexiglass or what it is made from?

Looks like it was ripped right from the show! Always amazed at your creations and even more amazed at your weathering techniques! I would love to see more on that to help me to learn how to make it look more natural lol!

Absolutely love this panel !! It has a total Andor/ vintage tv/ fallout feel to it. All aesthetics that catch my eye. And I recently took apart some really old electronics owned by my grandpa…which had duckbill switches. So they have an even more nostalgic feel for me.
Love the reuse of old props. I do the same thing on occasion. And Yes, I would like to see the painting techniques you talked about. Or really any of your techniques tbh.
Great episode and prop Shawn !!

Common led sizes are 5mm (most common size.), 3mm, and 10mm.

Thank you! For me and my dumbness when I laser cut things there is a bit of a change in size (I assume due to the burn of the laser) and I like templates so I know things will fit … but you are 100% right! Maybe I should drill out the holes after! Hmmmm

@@trytofinishsomething they did day inspired by but they also said as authentic as possible to look like it was taken off an Andor set. So by that I think you more than meet the criteria.
