Oh come on. There is plenty of space on offer, especially if you consider the competition. And anyway, you can't expect from a car this size to be as spacious as a VW polo. It simply can't ...
I got a sense of deja vu when he mentioned the steering being nice, light and direct with good feedback in contrast to the i10 for the second time in the vid.
To be completely honest as an overall package the picanto is probably better then the vw up/seat mii atlist in everything that comes to design, practicality and value for money. The only advantage the up has is its tsi engine. But how can i as a costumer trust a manufacturer which give me only 2 years of worrnty? It seems as if vw dont trust themselves that their cars are reliable... Its a big issue no one talks about in car review's
He mentioned it in the Range Rover Velar video last week if I remember correctly. I guess it's only mentioned if the Brand does poorly on their driver power surveys
'My knees are brushing against the front seat and headroom is tight' then shows he can fit his hands between his knees and seat plus showing loads of headroom. Used to like your reviews but you seem to chat some rubbish recently. The Kia Picanto seems a decent car!
I purchased the GT Line S model in white and I am really pleased with it. It has loads of big car features, great build and really fun to drive. I have the 1.25 manual and it goes well if you do lots of long journeys it could do with some more power but short trips and around town its perfect. My last new car was a Golf GTI also in white and it was never noticed but everyone loves this car.
I own this car. The stereo has 4 by 4 inch cones , which is unheard of, as nearly all cars have 6 inch cones. There are No tweeter speakers at all. I had the amplifier and speakers replaced and the car is appealing. The stereo fitter was impressed at the joins between the panels and said that the car was not made on the cheap. In Australia, the car has 4 stars safety as the pedestrian safety is only 4 stars, and Australia awards the same stars as the least scoring category. The car drives sure-footedly. The spare wheel is undersized which is a slight problem in the vast distances of Australia, where the spare limit speed of 80km/hr will cause stress on the highways. The steering wheel does not telescope out or adjust, so unless you have boxer length arms, the position may be a problem. All that aside, the car is a real surprise, and having replaced the audio amplifier and speakers, I am very pleased.
Why are people are so obsessed with 'in car sat nav' you prorably pay 600 more for that thing which does a worse job if you could just buy a phone holder and install android auto on your smartphone .
I haven’t driven a picanto since I hired one on holiday in Spain like 8 years ago and it was the older 1.1, never driven one prior and being new to left hand drive it was quite nice to drive even on their higher speed roads to travel to other cities and at that time back in England I owned a 1.8 mg sports car so was a big change, was a pretty nippy car and very economical, never been in these new ones, but the GT-Line looks really cool, probably not suitable for 3 kids, but I wouldn’t buy a 2017 plate one due to tax increase, need the one from last year where it’s £20-30 for the year.
Jesus James this is rediculous.. this car has just as much room as the Ford fiesta if not a little more. But in this car it's tight. Is that because it's a Kia??
just recently got my drivers license. i cannot wait to get my first car even though i only have R10 in my account!!!!! can i just win a car or something
Who actually respects James Batchelor reviews as worthwhile?? The guy is so anti "Normal Car" I cannot continue to watch these videos for actual information.
All the reviews use the GT Line which does not sell as it has very jostly 16" wheels and vinyl seats - yuk! And the styling is awful. Go for the 3 spec, which I have in automatic. Its a proper torque converter not an automated manual or dual clutch nightmare. Just great.
tight for space?!I wonder if Kia have missed of bits of kit because their customer base claims not to want it (eg new Nissan Micra and lack of rear electric windows). Or in other words, penny pinching. The traditional automatic gearbox will prolly outlast a twin (or single) clutch automated system (eg, vw DSG or ASG).
Hi. First time car buyer just got my L's was wondering if the cheapest non GT, standard S line has any way to connect a phone for music, preferably Bluetooth but aux/line in is fine too
Just had a 1.25 gt line as a rental, gearbox is a light slush box, steering is so light it’ll go on full lock if a feather lands on it and has zero feel. So much of this review doesn’t make sense after I just spent 24 hours and 200 miles with this thing.
Are you seriously going to say that your knees are "brushing up against the seat in front" ?! Name ONE car in the class that is more spacious that the Picanto! And even if there is, for the love of God, what do you expect?? It is a bloody CITY CAR. You really should be more realistic...
Hi James I'm sorry that I was a little bit hard at you last time I comment. This time the review was soooo much better. I still think you are one of the better presenter. It could be that you take the car for what it is, if it is a cheep car you get alot of plastic ☺ and I agree that the 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo charge petrol engine is the right choice for any city car (If you haven't notis english isn't my first language ☺) Keep up the great work 👍🏼👊🏼
Well we know now for sure that it's all scripted as you just repeated yourself twice using the same exact words and expression. Also what are you talking about your knees were far away from the seat in front of you and head space was ok.
This guy is a joke, i have picanto gt line and if you are looking for a city car witch this baldie dont say, is the best option and have 6 years warranty
Are you serious? Your knees were acres from the seat in front of you. And the head space wasn't too bad either
He has a good two or three inches and plenty of head room, stupid comments but unsurprising.
My 6 foot son sat in the back confortably for 80 miles on the motorway!
He’s 5 foot 4, so he’ll complain for the people that are taller because he can’t for himself.
Hes just over 5ft 10 and has plenty of space, wtf lolol its an amazingly spacious back seat for such a small car.
Oh come on. There is plenty of space on offer, especially if you consider the competition. And anyway, you can't expect from a car this size to be as spacious as a VW polo. It simply can't ...

He's just got the job cos he gay
Why keep repeating the term city car? not everyone who buys a small car lives in a city. sometimes they buy a small car because that is all they need.
absolutely
and the picanto has an impressive mileage capacity, you can easily travel with it.
4:40 - 5:10 you just repeated the same damn thing
you are reviewing a compact budget hatch do you expect it to have rear leg room of a limousine .There is so much leg room for this class for car .

Gooby Dolan I know what you mean but often the sat nav option brings a much improved screen/interface that can really lift the interior appeal.
Gooby Dolan If it has Android auto, or Apple CarPlay it would be well worth it
You can't use your phone if no signal, or load for data for some cases.
Carwow is way better
At least it doesn't have pop out rear windows like the up.
Gallopingclap and a proper boot which isn't made of glass 😂
He's wrong about the auto 'box. It's a PROPER torque converter unit. Far better than the robotised units he recommends!
I wish they would sell 3 door versions with no rear seats, just a large boot and perhaps more movement on the front seats.

Armrest? That's unusual in this class of car. Nice touch, Kia
The armrest is too far forward and obstructs access to the handbrake.
No it does'nt.
I would consider buying one with the body kit on it.I would want to wait for the 1 litre turbo engine though.
As far as superminis go I definitely think this is easily one of the or even the best imo
Rather have this then a crappy VW UP! Had a Seat Mii and it was absolutely shite in the winter.
Back seats looks very spacious for a little city car. Boot space fantastic too. Not sure you know what you're talking a about.
@04:03 them windows need a clean
I live in USA and I would buy one. Looks a lot more fun than heavy massive v8s we have here
Do you think Picanto is better than Up! and i10?
Gematriaaa1 its better than i10 but im not sure about VW up
Everything is better than a vw up!
@@zooks3894 How anyone can buy a vw is beyond me!!!
Jesus James this is rediculous.. this car has just as much room as the Ford fiesta if not a little more. But in this car it's tight. Is that because it's a Kia??
Is this a city car? I dont think the presenter forgot to mention this :P
Its a car. You can drive it anywhere there is a road. What is this city car thing?
@@fivish Easy for parking in small spots I guess.
Ill take it over the up/mii/citgo anyday
What about it's real world fuel efficiency? I've read forums that it's far from the company's declaration.
It’s a small car champ...who would have thought there is less room in the back seat you muppet
This car suits you James
If it can fit a packet of crisps in the glove box,James is sold.
Oh my gosh, he's almost hairless. God bless him
just recently got my drivers license. i cannot wait to get my first car even though i only have R10 in my account!!!!! can i just win a car or something
i kind of like the "old-school" entertainment unit.. more practical than the fully- touch screen in jazz..
Guys this footage needs to be edited. There are two duplicate scenes when he talks about how direct the steering is...
Kia Picanto...
THE BEST!
crikey, it never occurred to me that a small car might be, errmm, small.
4:35 - 5:15, is it just me, or did he pretty much just repeat himself? Shame on you editor
LOL smooth transition though
Looks like a proper torque converter, might be slow but will last longer than some broken expensive to repair twin clutch box
Who actually respects James Batchelor reviews as worthwhile??
The guy is so anti "Normal Car" I cannot continue to watch these videos for actual information.
Adrian Byron-Parker I bet he daylies a Bentley continental and finds it hard to review cheap city cars. Lol
CRISSSSSSPSSSSSSSS
2:19
...aTTT all. Because it is TTTighTTT with a capiTTal T.
Michel Ghanem hahahahaHAHAHA
How beautiful Kia motors, kia picanto is very lovely
2:18 What the heck you said? How this back seats are tight?
I can't afford the fancy versions😭 I really just hoped for one with electric windows
Guys you need to work on your overall sound quality because it sucks.

Interior high enough in the back? Same as all reviewers use to say... How tall are you please?!?
Why repeat about the steering twice ?
I like kia picanto very best

Very nice shirt, James!!
Everything I need to know. Nice video.
This is the base model 1.0i engine right? The cheapest one
side airbags?
Nice and punchy? A bit over it

I've never seen the car which looks angry than this.
it was an average review until rear seat bullshit. After than i stopped and wrote this comment... i do not even need to watch the rest sorry
That car are made for str8 men ,lol
Would you recommend the gt line for a first car?
Is it a city car?

two thumbs up for the recommendations
Tyrion Lannister friendly.

Does somebody know where Ginny is??
Who ends up eating the packet of crisps ?
Great review, as usual. 👍
Take a shot of tequila every time he says "city car" and you will get hammered by the end of this video.
Cmon Kia get a screen I have a Kia which is 12 years old and it has a bigger radio screen than this one
at 4 min, the windows look like they were cleaned with milk...
Banana milk?
You can put all the racy body kits on it you want but at the end of the day, it's still a kia picanto.
slanahesh I bet it will beat a focus rs in a straight line because of the extra gt pack
Lololol
This guy sounds like Timothy "Tiff" Needell in his Top Gear days, before the BBC cancelled the show and he moved to Channel 5 🙄
Well we know now for sure that it's all scripted as you just repeated yourself twice using the same exact words and expression. Also what are you talking about your knees were far away from the seat in front of you and head space was ok.

63 MPG LOL! Try 38 on the manual and 37 on the auto.
Angry fish
God this presenter is truly awful, how does he get away with it? And would it kill him to visit a gym now and then?
Because he's a homosexual
comment on 2:37:
That's why you need long journeys... so the friendship (albeit forced) lasts longer.
Why always bag of crisps
The 2018 version is better
i like it! can i have one? :)

A cute armrest ? Mmmmmmm
It's the token gay boy
Synthetic leather is way better than Leather... cloth is better still!!!
This guy is a joke, i have picanto gt line and if you are looking for a city car witch this baldie dont say, is the best option and have 6 years warranty
You dont want the GT or X-line, you want the 3 spec.
I got the X Line and I am loving it. A bit pricier, true, but definitely worth the price.
No I prefer the 2 spec. The 3 has a touchscreen and bigger wheels that degrade ride quality.
AGAIN WITH THE POTATO CHIPS.
NO chips, only CRISSssssPPPppSSSSSSSsssSSssSs
HERE IN AMERICA WE CALL THEM POTATO CHIPS AND WE DON'T KEEP THEM IN THE GLOVE BOX.
VW up is a much better car, more class & will hold more value.
VW is junk
VW will be rotting in a scrapyard while this is still under warranty
@@danlugo4365 Agreed 👍
Still would take a much bigger, cheaper and better driving Ford Ka+
No way it is better than the Picanto! It's only slighty bigger and haa worse build quality as well! Picanto FTW!
It a city car?😄😄
Kia Morning, as it is known in Hong Kong, is seen as the Reliant Robin (as in Mr Bean), that only shit people will buy them.
